QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 28, 2013 -> 08:09 AM) Agree on Blackfish and Sound City. Need to see Act of Killing. Hope it goes up on Netflix soon. I've been wanting to see Sound City since well before it came out, and still haven't done it. Shame on me. Didn't see a ton of movies, but in no particular order here's a few I did like... Wolf of Wall Street This is the End Thor 2 I was pretty disappointed in Star Trek.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 27, 2013 -> 09:25 AM) Top Ten movie all time for me. Phenomenal. And yeah Margot Robbie might be the hottest woman in Hollywood. Wolf of Wall Street was fantastic. Only thing was that it probably could have been a half hour shorter. Dragged just a tad for me before the actual climax. Seems more like a 2.5 hour movie than a 3 hour movie.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 28, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) Me too. Took Illini minus 12. Free cheese. Except Kelsey Barlow does scare me. He could easily drop 30. Had no idea that tool was still around. -
When was the last time we even did this? 2010?

Indiana lands Tim Gardner, OL from Indianapolis. He had enrolled at Ohio State but got in trouble over the summer and was sent home. Spent the fall at a prep school and will enroll in the spring. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 05:28 PM) Guys I have to admit, the Indiana fan was right, Wisconsin has had real trouble adjusting to the new rules.... Oh wait, I was right and its helped Wisconsin. LULZ http://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketbal.../fouls-category Wisconsin 2013 14.8 fouls per game, 2012 14.0 fouls per game. Wisconsin 2013 ft attempts per game 22, 2012 ft attempts per game 17 Seems like you should be using Wisconsin's FT against if you're trying to prove that point. I have no idea what those numbers are and maybe Wisconsin hasn't been hurt there either. -

I can't wait for James Blackmon's shooting ability next year. IU's lack of an outside threat this year is gonna be a killer. Besides the youth, of course. Ferrell is the only real threat, and even if you took this year's version and put him on last year's team, he would have been tied with Oladipo behind Watford and Hulls as a deep threat. -
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) I guess my question to the legal experts would be if the criminal defense attorney's theory as presented in court is usable by the victim in a civil suit against the parents. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 03:09 PM) It might be, but it's not going to prove anything. Being a bad parent doesn't equate to negligence or an actionable cause of action. I don't think it would be admissible. Like you said Jenks, the lawyer's client was the kid, not the parents. No way they could be bound by that. I suppose a plaintiff in a civil suit could try to bring it in as some sort of evidence pertaining to it, but it strikes me as too unduly prejudicial (especially given all the media attention) to be admitted.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 04:57 PM) Does anyone else think the allegations against Jong-un's uncle are fabrications by their government, or have I seen too many movies? The fact that he's already executed and that he was considered the second-most-powerful person over there is was made me think it. I just assumed for certain they were. If not completely fabricated, at the very least trumped up, coupled with no due process.

Quite the argument. "His parents spoiled him too much, so he shouldn't go to to jail." http://www.newser.com/story/179005/teen-ki...l-sentence.html

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 09:23 PM) Never actually had eggnog. Safe to assume I'd prefer the alcoholic version. Oh yeah, that's a pretty good bet for both of us. Never had it either.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 01:17 PM) Has anybody been watching American Horror Story this season? So far I think the story has been pretty decent and I like all the characters. One of the best shows on TV, hands down. I can only compare this season to the first since I caught onto the show late and watched season one on netflix and then have been watching season 3 from the start. Season 2 just got put on netflix to stream so I'll be starting that probably once this season is over. It's one of those shows I watch, but it's not a big deal if I miss an episode here or there. The 1st season and this season are definitely better than the 2nd season, though. I didn't think Season 2 was all that good.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 10:53 AM) So true in all aspects. Once OSU moved the students down to the floor and especially across from the cameras it completely changed the atmosphere. That's one thing I don't like about Assembly Hall (in Bloomington). No matter how cool it is to see from the floor up, you don't get the same thing on the cameras. Now, I don't think our cameras make it look bad or anything -- you can still tell it's a good atmosphere, not anything like what you guys are saying is/was happening with the cameras in Champaign. But it's not like you see a bunch of rowdy students like the Izzone, either. -
QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 12:45 PM) Can't explain why this started a little slow this year. Don't know either, not quite the boom we've had in the past.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 11:16 AM) The only surviving ones are the places that are out of this world for one reason or another or have generations of customers. Alpine Subs here in Elmwood Park just makes an unreal sandwich because of their homemade items and fresh bread. You get a "taste" for their sandwiches. On the flip side there are potbelly's type places like Rammy's where you could easily get their exact product at Potbelly's so they died. You have Russell's yet? Tasty tasty.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 08:51 PM) I'm sure that view up is cool, but there has to be a way to make it more functional. Although, I read something that Sampson said the arena was so dumpy that all he could really do with a recruit was point at the banners, say hey help us get a 6th, and leave. True, but that was before we had Cook Hall (practice facility that opened 3 years ago) next door, so that's alleviated things from an amenities perspective. If they can actually renovate it and do it right, that's great and would be the best option...I'm just skeptical and think building a new arena might be the way to go. What's happening to that other Assembly Hall? -

One way or another, no way Mack Brown is coaching that team next year. Texas has been out of the national title picture for too long. Pretty much since Vince Young left, right? -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) It was such an easy comeback, too, considering they've won the last 4. I was reading some stuff on your arena, looks like it's going to get some major renovations/needs major renovations? I've only been there for 2 games, one was in the balcony and one was way up the first level...but those were some less-than-good seats, especially the balcony. Yeah, there was stuff this week saying they're going to try to do some renovations, nothing concrete yet. Glass (AD) says he wants the kids who are freshmen on the team now to be able to play in the renovated arena as seniors, but I'll believe that when I see it. There are definitely some bad seats in there. For the IU-Illinois game my freshman year our tickets were next to this wall that juts out in the middle from the back of the balcony, and we could only see half the court. Luckily, there wasn't anyone across the aisle from us (we were literally in the last row of the nosebleeds) so we just sat there. And when you're way in the back of the lower deck it can get almost claustrophobic because the ceiling from the balcony is so damn low. But I will admit, the view it gets from the floor of just a wall of people...that's pretty neat.
