  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) I think De Aza has damn near as many extra basehits as Pierre does in like 500 less at bats. Do not be so quick to dismiss Juan. I am betting he won't be back in 2012, but 45 RBIs for a lead off batter isn't bad
  2. Good eye-good at bat. Gordon took what was given and gets abases loaded walk 2-2 game
  3. bases juiced and one out-here is Gprdon Beckham
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) LF and the leadoff spot as of right now should belong to De Aza. All this guy has done is produce. I agree-don't know for sure his positioin in 2012 but he needs to be in the line up
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) Welcome to 2011? just an observation of the obvious is all
  6. ADAM DUNN GOT A BASE HIT! A GROUND BALL SINGLE UP THE MIDDLE WITH TWO STRIKES
  7. Rios seems to either ground out, pop up or K and awful lot
  8. DH Jim Thome who is hurt a lot and missed a number of games has a higher batting average, more homers and more RBI's than Adam Dunn
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) Dunn and Rios back to back in tghe line up. Both with astrike out and Dunn has awalk. WOW EEE I had to look at the game summary and see that in the first inning we had the bases full and one out. Batters were Rios and Dunn. Guess what? We didn't score as both K'd
  10. Konerko hit by the pitch. Is it just me or does it seem our guys are easy targets?
  11. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) This is an all time low for Soxtalk. 3 posts in 5 innings for a game thread. Keep posting to yourself. At least that way you can feel lik e the smartest baseball guy in the world
  12. Dunn and Rios back to back in tghe line up. Both with astrike out and Dunn has awalk. WOW EEE
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 06:59 PM) The problem for me is that Frasor really hasn't looked that good since coming to the Sox. 5.40 ERA, 1.80 WHIP since coming to Chicago. That makes me, um, hesitate about wanting him back. I do agree with your analysis. I see that ERA but he does have a decent history.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) He should be a type B free agent if we decline the $3.5 million option on him for next year and then offer him arbitration. That would get the Sox a sandwich pick if he declined arbitration. Unless the next CBA gets rid of compensatory picks. When you look at some of the albatross contracts we have 3.5M isn't all that bad
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) If he were to accept arbitration he should still at least be tradeable mid-season. Reliever on a 1 year, $2.75 mil deal. I guess it does come down to how our pitching looks in ST too. Farsor might be the best option. Kind of hard to really make a judgement on this guy. You need a good blend of veterans and youth on a winnig team IMO. I know some want to go all young, but I see that as acepting 4th or lower for a few years
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) That's ridiculous. Not picking up the option on a 34-year old serviceable reliever will not make the Hudson deal look worse. Let him walk, collect the draft pick, and move on. Is there a draft pick?
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 06:14 PM) Everyone clamouring for rebuilding and saying they would go to a ton of Sox games if the tickets were cheaper, your time is now. The games are meaningless, the younger players (even though most aren't that young) are playing, and tickets can be had on stubhub for $5. Step up to the plate. Good point!
  18. Frasor might be back but I think we can go younger and cheaper as we have some decent in-house folks to pick from in 2012. Frasor should be trade bait, but if we don't pick him up KW is just making the original bad deal (Hudson) look even worse, I am still inclined to keep Sale in the pen, but a lot depends on who stays and who leaves pitchingwise
  19. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 02:03 AM) I know he's beloved but his two no-hitters aside, this guy ain't no ace. I was blessed to have seen Gary Peters, Tommy John, Joel Horlen and Wilbur Wood pitch for the Sox. If your measure of an ace-like pitcher is Mark, you didn't see these guys. I saw those guys too. 1967 and earlier was some pitching staff for the Sox. 1967 is when Joel Horlen was robbed of the Cy Young and they gave it to Jim Lonborg just because Boston was the AL, But, Mark Buerhle is pretty special too
  20. I can't buy the stuff about predicting the Sox would fail way back at the beginning of the season. Of course the odds are anyone predicting a team will not win it all will be correct on 29 of 30 chances. Inflated salaries means a high payroll and that's all I buy into. We are certainly part of that problem.
  21. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 05:56 PM) Greg/elrockinMT bash on other posters in complete hypocritical post They get called out by other posters/mods They ignore such posts Repeat What's your point? I have an opinion and I express it. Others can express their opinions. I am ok with that. Don't have to agree with them and they don't have to agree with mine. We shouldn't make it personal though. I thought I was wrong once-that was the only time I was ever wrong
  22. Tigers and White Sox on Monday night MLB Network. Let's keep the pressure on till the bitter end
  23. I think 2011 and Morel should be considered a learning year. He sure has come around this second half and with young players you have to be patient. I am guessing 2012 will be better as he improves and hopefully so do some of our other players.
