  1. The other thing I noted about our team is we seem to give up alot of firsts to the opposig players. 1st win, 1t homerun of their career, now Hamilton got his first of the year
  2. QUOTE (Real @ May 24, 2011 -> 01:16 AM) Why does Danks always give up a run in the first 2 innings of a game? What the f*** is the deal? Can he keep an offense at bay for at least 5 or 6 innings It seems he ALWAYS puts the offense behind early in the game I wonder sometimes just how warmed up they are when entering the game. Are they ready or not is my question
  3. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 24, 2011 -> 01:15 AM) How many pitches did that s*** head Pierre see in this at bat? three I think
  4. Our guys seem to give up lots of those solo round trippers and especially runs in the first inning
  5. More ground outs to the pitcher and into DP's than anyone I can think of this year. Juan Pierre
  6. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 24, 2011 -> 01:00 AM) When Dunn went down with his appendectomy, I bet someone that he would still hit 38 - 40 homers. That was a dumb ass bet. Luckily I didn't have anyone to bet with, but I thought it too
  7. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 23, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) Did we lose Brent Morel? It appears Ozzie is on that left-righty thingie again
  8. I think ALexei sould really be further down in the line up asan RBI man. Beckham is the one who neds o mature as a hitter and be in the #2 spot At this point I thjink that Juan Pierre is still the leadoff guy like it or not
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 23, 2011 -> 03:47 AM) And some kudos to Adam Dunn, got on base 4 of 5 appearances. I was going to correct myself and say he got three walks and an rbi single so that's pretty good
  10. And Dunn walked a couple times too so don't forget that we congratulating the players
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 23, 2011 -> 02:39 AM) We can agree to disagree. I'm just saying at some point you are finished when you are behind a certain amount of games in the loss column. All I pointed out was we were on life support and HAD to keep winning series. I'm saying we cannot come back from 14 back and I'd be in favor of a firesale at that point. I'm all for winning series. I've been loving it. Watching a lot of baseball lately. You are right greg, but it's too early to say that
  12. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ May 23, 2011 -> 01:18 AM) A really tough test coming up with this upcoming road trip. I think much of the 2011 story might just be told based on the results of this trip. They are all important. We spend too much time pointing out how much each series means to our chances of survival. Last time it was the Indians series and before that the West coast swing. Let's just win!
  13. I would think our most likely trade partner woulkd be the Yankees and it's either Danks or Jackson for a couple talented youngsters. Not that I condone that idea, but really what else is there? Pierre maybe later on to someone needing a veteran? I hope we are fighting for the title come September and all this was just idle speculation
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2011 -> 04:57 AM) Hopefully he'll rest up and we'll ride Lilly's hot streak and great defense. Lilibridge is a battler
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 19, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) I don't know, I got the impression that he was indeed talking about Pierre. If Juan continues to struggle, he may get benched or released. Morel is probably on the hot seat too though, and I'd have to think T-Pain as well. I have to believe it is meant as a warning to players who may not appear to be trying or giving it their all. Pierre is probably the hardest working guy on the team, Beckham is now showing signs of coming around with the bat and the glove has been perfect and Danks with zero wins is trying hard. I would think Pena, Rios and Jackson are the ones as they seem to be head cases all the time when struggling. I would be interested in seeing what might happen in the potential trade area considering we have a pitcher or two costing money, or who will cost money soon, and the Yankees need pitching. That coupled with the emergence of Humber means we could pick up some good young talent in a traade.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2011 -> 03:21 AM) I would almost guarantee that Dunn is embarrassed about that. I agree. It is almost imcomprehensible that he would or could be this bad. I feel sorry for him as you know he is a proud fellow as all ballplayers most likely are. They want to suceed. He was to contribute. $ k's today and what was it 2 or 3 K's yesterday. The man looked lost at the plate. He has got to be better than this. He has to be !
  17. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ May 21, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) Everybody but Dunn!!!! NOBODY but Lilli
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 21, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) Ozzie, of course, also felt the need to hang him out to dry in the 10th inning. was he playing natonal league ball again?
  19. Should be a fun game, but Mark will win it!
  20. What I liked was his team mates and manager picking him up. Humber made a great comment and so did Ozzie. All good things must come to an end and Saergio's streak did. It was going to happen. The test is how he comes back in his next game. Let's win these next two against the Bums
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ May 20, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) My Q... Is Bobby getting honored this year too? Maybe after he gets out of the hospital (injured list you know) lol
