QUOTE (flavum @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) The A's should be more upset about losing Phil Humber, when the Sox claimed him off waivers. Yes
-
A veteran won out over a journeyman. I always hate it when we lose someone to waiver caims and we seem to get those "out of option guys" but it is what it is. Gray did good and as management said we need to see more out of Pena now. But, I was not surprised Gray was demoted. He did well over a stretch of games, but there was no guarantee he could be effective over the course of the year and his past record doesn't really instill confidence.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 13, 2011 -> 03:19 AM) Who could hate the Wimperoo? I'm going to enjoy the broadcasts if I luck out and Extra Innings picks up the Sox feeds. Is Sunday a WGN broadcast? No the only game I see on WGN is Friday nights. The duo should be entertaining

QUOTE (bmags @ May 13, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) Yeah, sorry I'm not going to stay up until midnight for games when there are 162 of them. You and others that can't stay up ate really need to try harder -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2011 -> 06:13 AM) That wild pitch on the intentional walk was hilarious. I have never seen that before on an intentional walk in a Sox game. Lot of heroes has to help team morale. Omar: Big hit and sac fly. Thornton: A save. AJ: 4 hits. Dunn: 4 hits including a bomb. Paulie: Defense. Teahen: Defense with nice scoop by Paulie. Thank you Angels for pissing it away as well, but we've pissed away so many it was good to get one given back to Sox. Paulie's play at the end ... wow. You said it all there my friend. That was one entertaining game and a great win -
QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 12, 2011 -> 07:19 PM) Darn, game is on too late for me on the east coast, gotta get up at 2:30 am to work at 3:30 Nobody should have to go to work at 3:30 AM.

Hope we continue winning. Sox are on WGN Friday night. I am out on the Pacific NW coast on vacation and got to see the Sox beat the Angels on Wed night. That was a lot of fun.

Juan Pierre is struggling in the field. Never a reeal good defender he has not shown us a whole lot of positive so far this year. Viciedo will be up at some point. Is he ready for LF or RF is the question. But, JP is a veteran and regardless of what we are judging him by as far as recent defensive lapses I think he is still the LF starter, but saying that he better know DV is in the wings

The award winning plays to close out Sox wins go to Lillibridge and Konerko

If the Sox got sold - and moved out of state

QUOTE (knightni @ May 11, 2011 -> 01:27 AM) Just a little food for thought today. I'll give you guys multiple answer options. This almost happened a few times since 1968. Even though you are correct I do not want to think about it. No chance now anyway do you agreee? -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 9, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) I believe I read yesterday that PK14 says that there's a bone chip or something weird in his wrist that on occasion pops and causes some pain/weirdness, but then it goes away shortly thereafter and he's back to normal. That's what I read too. Wonder is off season surgery is warranted?

WGN is broadcasting the Sox and Angels tonite at 9:05 PM CDT. Peavy schedued so it will give us a chance to see Jake in his return to the mound

QUOTE (since56 @ May 11, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Can't get rid of both? Gray has been effective. I would not DFA Pena, but trade him if possibe. However, we now know Gray was sent down

The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels
elrockinMT replied to Steve9347's topic in 2011 Season in Review
We can be ooking at a winner or a bust. How do you know for sure till it's done? So many times these guys return from injury and the adrenalinde is flowing and they pitch good. After that they are a bust. We haven't seen Peavy heathy since he got here so I just don't know what to look forward too -
And that's a White Sox winning streak!!!

QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ May 10, 2011 -> 06:33 AM) Attending the series in Seattle has resparked me, I was actually pumped up watching tonight's game, which was probably the first time for me personally since the loss to Oakland to make us 7-5. Great to see Dunn startng to hit the ball well. I was in Seattle too and they were darn good. The pitching was the key and the offense started waing up -

I was there Sunday as well as on Friday night. Good exciting game and what impresssed me was the pitching for a three games minus Matt Thornton blowing it Friday night. Can't say I could figure out Matt's issues, but he just didn't look comfortable throwing, but still hit 96 MPH. Poor location Sunday Buerhle was really sharp and Konerko 5 for 5 as well as Dunn finaly getting an RBI double in the 10th. Hard hit ball. Santos is our closer for sure. Great effort

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) Did you remind people when Smoak was a strikeout machine getting sent back to the minors? I believe in Beckham. There will be a lot of people eating their words in a month or so. Beckham has a1.000 fielding # and is comin around I think.

I watched Humber take on Felix Hernandez in Seattle and he matched Hernandez all the way. I was impressed

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 6, 2011 -> 12:53 AM) Still have an extra ticket for Friday nite if anyone wants it. Let me know if interested. I'll be there but I have tickets. Those sound like good seats though
