Sox make Frank Thomas team ambassador
I think they should still bring back the Big Hurt as our DH. He probbaly can still hit better than 90% of what's out there

Will Omar play next year?
I am very impressed with Omar and hope he does give it another year with the Sox

Mariners (Rowland-Smith 1-9, 6.27) @ White Sox (Floyd 5-8, 3.87)
Saw that game last night. Always fun winning. Danks pitched great and set the bar for Gavin. Go get em Floyd!

Mariners (Felix 7-6, 2.75) @ White Sox (Danksy 10-7, 3.37 ERA)
We get Fox Sports Northwest here which carried the Mariners games. I am looking forward to tonite oi TV and the next three nights also. Go Danks

Jenks will Close again
I was not overly impressed with Jenks comments about how he thought people were being too hard on him for blowing games. I don't think he has been throwing very well for awhile now

Hudson's command is just terrible
Youth and inxperience is the issue. Hudson has two poor starts and one pretty good one vrs the Mariners. We do need to see better from him for sure if that #5 pitching spot is used much

I want Ozzie and KW gone.
I must be missing something. We are in 1st place in our division right? Let me look at the paper. Right!

GT: White Sox @ A's 7/25, 3:05 CT, CSN
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 11:52 PM) If the Diamondbacks were insisting on a major league proven starting pitcher, then we couldn't. That'd be D1 or Floyd. If so then that's exactly what I meant-asking price way to high. Danks and Floyd are better than Haren IMO

WEell, I guess that's the ole ballgame. A's with one big inning whch seems to haunt the Sox recently in their loses. They can't seem to get out of the bad innig without least 4 runs scoring

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 11:50 PM) Yup. And it's been obvious since last year. I agree. The idea of Jones and Thome alternating at DH and Jones being able to play all three OF positions seems to have slipped by KW. Plus there are other good reasons for Thome to have been signed again. But, we saw this same type of move when Uribe was let go. Think of Uribe and Vizquel for defense

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 11:50 PM) Passan says Trout is not PTBNL. Really, if that's the deal the D'Backs got, how the hell couldn't the Sox top that. Hudson projects to be about as good as Saunders this year, which is very mediocre. It's not the the Sox couldn't top something like that it is wether they would want to or not

GT: White Sox @ A's 7/25, 3:05 CT, CSN
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) Jones and Thome would actually have been an ideal setup. Put Jones in the OF every time you have a LHP on the mound, use him to get extra rest for all 3 of your OF's by sliding them in at DH, you make up a bit on defense for the offense you sacrifice, and you do exactly what Thome needed; fewer at bats. We should have kept Thome

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 11:53 PM) I predict Lilly and Viciedo will both play tomorrow. Guillen's defense is not very good any more. I think the Royals would try to rob us, since they are able to simply let him ride out the final year of his ill-advised contract. He's not a bad hitter still, though, when healthy. He's had some problems health wise again this year. This team has too many ex-Royals now

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 11:53 PM) Yes, made pretty solid contact. If Kotsay hit it, Hawk would have been making excuses for him. True

Dayan goes for the 1st pitch. Did he hit it good or not? See that it went opposite field

7/24 GT: Sox @ A's - 3:10 CDT - FOX
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) He hasn't played the OF for more than 20 games, and his numbers last year were significantly worse than Quentin's this year. That is a good point

7/24 GT: Sox @ A's - 3:10 CDT - FOX
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 11:44 PM) The lineup should be very interesting considering the consensus is the Sox look "tired" today. I still don't understand why Pierre and Omar have to play every single day. Would you guys want Jose Guillen for a rental the rest of the year? I'm sure the Royals, however, would try to rob us for said rental. I don't want him, but he's another bat the Royals are dying to get rid of since he's a headcase. I don't think much of rentals
