  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) My faith in Kenny going out to get a bat remains. We need one. The question is what he has to give up. Let's keep our young players and if needed start working on 2011 and beyond. However, I am in no way sauggesting 2010 is over
  2. Jake Peavey= no good games and 2 bad games Freddie Garcia= one good game and one bad game Mark Buerhle= 2 good games and one bad game Deduction from this is that it is way to early to start this type of thread and worry about our pitching. Now if you want to criticize an inconsistent offense I am all for that
  3. If we have the chance (or KW actually) to sign our young pitchers like Danks to a long term or longer term contract I say do it. Pitching is the name of the game
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) Judging by the way the Sox pen is throwing, that could well be something people are looking at from us. OK, but are we out of contention or something? Why is this story anything more than an idle report about scouts being at a game when there are most likely scouts at all games checking things out. I might bite if it was a scout from a particular team that has been rumored to be looking at a trade or two
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 05:56 PM) It is random. There is no science to it. Each day is an independent occurrence. Thank you
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) You get an A for effort. But there will be no pinning. A tail maybe
  7. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:40 AM) Chuck Norris wears Mark Buehrle underwear.
  8. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:06 AM) He's too dependent on the homerun. 60% of his hits so far. I thought that this was the year of Ozzieball. WTF?! Every year we hear about the small ball stuff. I hope Jones hits a lot of homers this year. I like Andruw so far.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 08:21 AM) TORONTO — Ozzie Guillen's contract expires after next season and White Sox- Twitter controversy involving his son this spring didn't bolster relations with general manager Ken Williams. Regardless, Guillen believes he would get another shot to manage if the Sox were to fire him. "There are a lot of horse(bleep) managers out there that were given two and three shots to manage in the big leagues," Guillen said. "I don't see why not me.'' Guillen reluctantly mentioned Manny Acta, who was fired after 2 1/2 losing seasons with the Nationals but had two offers to manage teams last winter before selecting the Indians. "Why can't I get another chance with another team?" Guillen said. "Am I going to keep on doing it? Well, I have to see what is going on." Guillen said he could perform any duty in baseball except GM. He added that his television duties at the 2009 World Series enhanced his opportunities. "If I get fired, I will tell (Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf) to fire Steve Stone, Farmio (Ed Farmer) or D.J. (Darrin Jackson)," Guillen said. "I want that job." mark gonzales/trib What I find annoying is that we're about to play the Indians on the road this weekend...the Indians have been playing like absolute horse manure since they left our park and here we are giving them bulletin board material by picking on their manager who pretty much out-managed Ozzie in Games 2/3 of the season. Why does Ozzie insist on always talking about getting fired? I find this annoying. Maybe it's ego or something?
  10. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) I was and still am surprised at the lack of support for Pierre. He's not the ideal lead-off guy, but he is a career .300 hitter, and he's got speed. So does Scottie Pods
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 03:19 PM) So far I haven't seen Pierre's speed really affect or change any games. He got us a run in the first game of the season, but after that? Of course you must get on base first in order to utilize that speed right?
  12. Not going to happen and shouldn't
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) I was stunned he got an AB last night Nix still not in there, but Vazquez is again!? Let's hope that Omar makes some once in a lifetime fantastoc defensive play that wins it for us and justifies why Nix continues to sit
  14. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) is just rakin it this year, including today. Good for him... (take notice Juan Pierre) Obviously things can change over the course of the year, but I would have rather had Scotty Pods on the Sox than Juan Pierre. I just didn't see any difference in the two, except Pods hit some homers and Pierre doesn't
  15. Nothing softens the sting of defeat like some wins. Now that's philosophy! Yes it is a long season, but I would like to see another quality bat on this team.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 02:33 AM) There couldn't have been a better person to break it up... My thoughts too. I hope Rios keeps up this attitude and performance all year. I like what I see from him so far
  17. Why is this an issue today or for the Sox at all?
  18. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 12:43 AM) no he hasnt. and even though he isnt great, his bat is still way better than vizquel but yea, you know how it goes with ozzie and his buddies I forgot that Ozzie makes out the beepin bleepin line up and we can all bleep it if with don't like it - buleep
  19. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) Not a single AB But Vizquel has a single or two so apparently that's all that matters and a good bat sits on the bench
  20. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 12:41 AM) ozzie hasnt even used nix. hed be a better choice today instead of vizquel but i guess hes never going to use him Has Nix played at all this season?
