Rookie of the Year candidate?

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 21, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) Hawk often talks about how unfamiliar he is with the NL in its present state But what I dont get is why someone who purports to greatly prefer DH-less baseball....doesnt watch DH-less baseball I think the Ole Hawkeroo just talks to hear himself talk
-
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 21, 2009 -> 08:20 PM) I hope I'm wrong but I dont know if i'll ever get comfortable with Josh Fields I sure miss Joe Crede, if I haven't told everyone on Soxtalk lately

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) I think you are going to see Anderson play every day and get a ton of AB's in an effort to get him enough looks to start the season or increase his trade value. As for Jose and Bart, tomorrow and Sunday are more important than today. Hitters are way ahead of them right now. Also they are the #4 and #5. It isn't to increase his trade value it is to get him ready to play CF everyday for the Sox

Guillen throws more names in the hat for leadoff

Let's not panic people. It ain't that bad -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) Uribe flies out to RF on the first pitch. I still miss that guy
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 10:07 PM) Owens flew out to CF in his 3rd ab. 0/2 with a walk so far. Quick inning for Cain. What gets the most attention from Ozzie today: Owens 1st SB of ST or CQ hitting the homer?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 05:41 PM) Except for the pitcher and Thome DHing, that looks like it probably is the opening day line-up. Other than J-O in CF

16 year old hitting 500 ft homers...

QUOTE (3E8 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 11:05 PM) I saw Bryce Harper hit a 502 ft. home run and I in my pants Ttat's funny right there now -
I see that Chone Figgins hit a homer and drove in two. We really should have traded for that guy this year.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 09:51 PM) The problem with that simple analysis is that Brian has been inconsistent in his career in which guy he hits better. In 2006, for example, Brian was a fair amount better against righties than against lefties. Therefore, we benched him and put in Mack against righties. And that was just plain and simple wrong!

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) An immaculate play by the incredible Christopher Getz. Hummmm

QUOTE (chunk23 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) Wise is coming back down to earth, which is exactly what BA needs. He did last year too towards the end of the season if I remember correctly. He then had a good game in the playoffs, but BA is far superior in my mind. The advantage given to Wise is he hits lefty and BA of course is the righty, but I think in the case of D Wise this is overrated.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) I think it's possible the Sox could have Viciedo and Allen rotating at 1B/DH next season, if Fields proves he can play at 3B. Or Viciedo could play in a corner OF spot, so there's a lot of possibilities. I agree plus I think Allen has shown a lot of upside too
-
There were no surprises even Viciedo going down to the minors. But, for him to go to AAA shows the confidence the Sox have in him and the talent he has shown. He just needs to work on laying off the down and away stuff. I think Allen really opened some eyes too.

Richard pushing in as potential 6th starter
elrockinMT replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Surely (Shirley) you can't be serious -
I think DJ Carrasco might be playing himself out of a job right now. Unless he is one of those that the whole ST is what he needs to finally come around, but he seems to be getting banged around pretty good almost every appearance.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Seems all we get is the live box score today. No audio for either side, no gameday. Richard gets through the first inning somehow, although the Box score makes no sense (the leadoff and #2 hitters never came to bat and he only recorded 2 outs according to it). Viciedo with a leadoff double in the 2nd. Anderson then somehow hit in to a double play with only a man on 2nd. Nix struck out. I can't follow it either

QUOTE (Cubano @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) I bought Direct TV Sport pack that includes Comcast Chicago Sports. Why doesn't this channel broadcast the Chicago games? This sucks big time. I know. I got stuck with something similar a few years back and all Chicago games ended up getting blacked out
-
QUOTE (Cubano @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) Is this game being televised? Thanks, On what? Havana deportes?
-
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 10:21 PM) Crede 3-3 today with a double and 2 run HR . Still hitting .185 so far. Swisher 3-4 all singles but 3 rbi now hitting .222 . Maier just crushes one way out to right 11-5 Royals. I figured iut would take Joe a few games of ST to satrt to get his swing and rythm back
-
Yesterday went a long ways in showing Jose is ready to start the season, Today we will see how Colon looks. I don't see Marquez being the 5th startyer at this point and when you put Poreda and Carrasco in the mix it will be a battle for that last spot on the pitching staff. Maybe Aaron will be the surprise?
-
He didn't look good today
-
Great game so far. I just checked the on-line box. Jose C with 2 innings and 4 K's, but the writer who said Marquez is a lock must have jinxed him. 4 runs in 2 innings yech!

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 09:18 PM) Owens setting the world ablaze with another leadoff out. Gotta belieev his chances of making the opening day roster are getting slimmer
