I guess Jose just buckled on that one
-
Time to buckle down and strap it on or whatever Hawk says
-
Little worried here. Jose is leaving picthes up in the zone. That splitter was too high. Must not have dived like it was supposed to

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 01:11 AM) Is it just me or is it the higher ERA, the less runs we score? A pitcher with an ERA over 10 could probably no-hit us. But then we will light up somebody like Verlander. I think you are right on with that observation

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 01:10 AM) we are seemingly giving up a lot of outs..not good baseball. Every once in awhile this team plays kind of sloppy. They need to pick it up a bit

Kid is learning. I was skeptical of him being on the big league roster at the beginning of the year, but he is starting to make me a believer
-
Thome K's. Homer or aK. I like homers better. Jim is striking out alot.

QUOTE (Cowch @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 12:37 AM) Yuck. How about a nice double for AJ. He got half a double, but brought in the run so that's good
-
I am thinking with all these "just misses" on Sox swings that by the 5th we out to be hammering this guy
-
QUOTE (Cowch @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 12:34 AM) Ahh, I should have picked someone else tonight! What is with this stupid swinging at the first pitch? Hawk says that pitch was just missed by Crede. If it's good swing at it. Anyway Thome is my PTC for tonight so there!!!

Comical trade proposal from a NY Post writer involving the Sox

This is the thinking that keeps the Yankmees struggling to be a winner -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 12:11 AM) Juan Uribe is worthless at this point, I'd like to replace him with a serious LH bat off the bench. Would love a base stealing threat as well. The question is why has he been made useless? He has a great glove and can hit with power, but has just sat.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) This is really really good, because they obviously did this for the White Sox. Jordan comes out of slot and will still get paid, but be easier to deal with... Now getting him in the 7th looks like a HUGE steal. Obviously, if John keeps pitching like he has, at least we won't have a huge issue growing where we worry about signing him long term. In this day and age they do things for themselves and not for the team- I mean talking money and their financial security that is

It is troubling that our ace reliever continues to play with fire though. I would think it must be several days off without pitching so he just wasn't sharp, or were they broken bat bloops? He does pitch well under stress, but he also has gotten bit a time or two, which is a time or two too often.

Danks didn't do himself any favors today nor did Konerko and Thome. The team gets a run and he turns around and give them right back to the Twins and Konerko and Thome K with the bases full. But, we still have some game left.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) That would explain why his HBP total is way down over the last few weeks. He gets himself in trouble when he starts getting to anxious at the plate.

QUOTE (hawksox13 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 02:57 PM) First off, I've been a long time visitor to the site, but I finally decided to sign up and become a member. I've always enjoyed reading the discussions on Soxtalk, so I figured it was time to get involved. But back to the topic at hand. On June 2nd, the Sox were ranked 22nd in the league in runs scored and had just a half game lead over the Minnesota Twins. Now, just seven days later, the Sox have jumped up to 10th in the league in runs scored and now hold a 5.5 game lead(maybe 6.5 in a couple of hours). For me this illustrates how explosive this offense can be when a majority of the lineup gets it together. That's the kind of offense that I've been waiting to see from this team all season long. Let's hope the bats stay hot for an extended period of time now! Welcome! It is sure a lot of fun when the team hits on all cylinders isn't it?

Double Dose of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball

The best rivalry is the Red Sox/Yankees and I just can't wait to see them on ESPN all the time. Wait a minute-they are on all the time. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 11:22 PM) Ack. Bad flashback of Marte walking the winning run in on a Sunday Night game at Wrigley. My head! He gawn now!!! -
Walker was asked about Ozzie trying to send a message in Tampa and Walker said he thought Ozzie was just angry.

QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) and it would be nice to roll that into Detroit Beating and better yet sweeping your divisional opponents is such a sweeeettt feeling. Better than chocolate
-
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) This series has to be absolutely demoralizing for Minnesota....they have been outplayed in all facets of the game, and every starting pitcher we run out there on paper looks very tough for them to hit on If we do the four game sweep it will be such a sweet feeling

Checking in. I am listening on XM and doing honey-dooos. Offense has sure done a job the last few games. I haven't read everything on Uribe, but I am a bit surprised that with these blowouts we haven't seen Uribe in there at all since his coming back from the DL. Makes you wonder what's up with that?

QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 08:17 PM) Thank you for the update. Ditto. I might be able to listen on XM
