Joe worked the walk to load the bases. Better yet I am thinking Brian saw most of what Herges has to offer -

How many home runs has Floyd given up tonight? -
Good clean feet make all the difference in the world. You run faster, jump higher, dive farther and hit better obviously. Now all that aside I think wearing white socks kind of helps with the team name don't you all? Why wear any color other than white?

QUOTE (soxfaninpa @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 06:24 PM) The text of the Scott Merkin article was changed to the following- DETROIT -- Adam Russell will be called up from Triple-A Charlotte to the White Sox prior to Friday's opener against Colorado, a source has confirmed to MLB.com. A corresponding roster decision will be made, with the White Sox expected to make a move involving veteran reliever Esteban Loaiza. The 6-foot-8 Russell, who was previously with the White Sox for a May 2-4 series in Toronto, but did not pitch, had a 3-0 record with a 1.74 ERA this season with Charlotte. He will work in long relief. Previously it had said Loaiza was expected to be released, now it only says a corresponding roster move involving Loiaza, so I'm thinking he is in fact heading to the DL. That makes more sense than an outright release after just three games
-
I don't see anything official about Loaiza being released. I have read two coflicting reports. One quotes unnamed sources and the othr quotes Don Coper saying Esteban needs to step it up and that the Sox were surprised by his lack of work prior to the signing. I surmise they are upset, but he has pitched three times and gave up one run in the first start. Ok! I am thinking all this talk is a bit premature, but the mesage to Loaiza has been sent.
-
What I find the most frustrating is that this is at least the third time and maybe more this year that our stellar relief corp gives up a walk off homer to lose
-
Hard to believe this championship team can go from dominating seven straight to all of sudden rolling over for three. Inconsistent, but at least we are in 1st place and you hope things become more consistent with the win streaks. You can't win em all, but you sure can wish you could.
-
Pods gave us his best effort whe he was with the Sox. There should be nothing but respect shown. Sox fans are better than some on the East coast I can think of anyway

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) I don't believe the injury is a bruise. If you look at another thread, I believe the injury is a tenosynovitis called DeQuervain's Syndrome which is an inflammation of the synovial membrane and tendons of the thumb and wrist. It is also a condition that does not require surgery but can take a substantial amount of rest to heal. Take two aspirin and call me in the morning. Or a shot of Jack Daniels might work too

Sleep is overrated also. I just don't see the ratinale at this point to bring up a young player like Fields. Josh will lay maybe 2 times a week and/or pinch hit and that's not a godd role for a developing hitter. I expect that this month we see a trade for a reserve player since it sure looks more and more like Uribe is the odd man.
-
I hope to catch this game on XM today. I'll be on the road for a coule hours this afternoon so the Sox can keep me entertained by beating Kenny. Only problem with the game broadcast today is it will be the Tigers broadcasters

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:00 AM) One is better than none. Let's keep chugging away I guess we only had one chugg tonight. Hopefully they get motivated for tomorrow

Is this getting thrown out at 2nd a new fad for the Perz?
-
Now we need to get it going against Verlander, who has allowed no hits through three. We are for sure making him look good tonight. He wants to lower that 5.00 ERA I guess and we might let him.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 12:33 AM) That at bat Cabrera had may have worn out Javy. Kudos to them. 2 pits ABs won't work guys. Tigers for sure saw all of what he had to offer and yes, maybe wore him down a bit.
-
That at bat by Cabrera was 14 pitches and ended with a walk on a ball that looked to catch the outside outer half of the plate
-
I guess I don't understand criticism of people who starts threads. Granted you would like them to be more than just idle chat, but really folks!
-
Why not consider Freddie Garcia if he is healthy? He is a real battler out there and could help-IF HEALTHY
-
Loaiza is not abum. He is a very good pitcher and has a god history with the Sox. Cooper shoud be able to get him on track and he can do the job he was signed to do - long relief and spot start. Uribe is a great glove man and may very well be a trade chip. I am still baffled by why he hsn't played at all since returning from the DL. Ramirez is playing very well, but Uribe can fill in at SS-2B or 3B and hasn't even been in in the late innings. No at bats either that I am aware of. If he is not filling any role other than keeping the bench warm and the water bucket full for the team I would think a trade is in line soon.

Jose should have been taken out last inning. Pitches are up and he is giving up runs. We have strong pen and should use it. We still have chance, if we can stop the bleeding now

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 01:22 AM) Hindsight is 20/20, but with 1st open, and a guy with 20 some AB's in the bigs next up, probably a bad call. Yep! Probably so
-
Jose can get out of this with no more runs allowed. he has done it before. Just need to make those good pitches
