  1. It is Frank's foot that is hurting. He can come off the DL August 4th. He will be back and helping the Sox win. As far as the profane comments about this Sox super star... I can do without them thank you.
  2. We send down/dump Shingo for not doing the relief job, but Vizcaino has been just as bad. So inconsistent except with the game on the line and he consistently chokes.
  3. I will live with FGrank for as long as the future hall of famer stays with the Sox and I hope that's till he hangs em up. The Big Hurt was out for a year and since he has been back he has homerd twelve times. That's the good.
  4. Reporter Asks: "What's the secret to winning?" Manager: "To score more runs then the other team." I guess we didn't do it today. Oh well, there is tomorrow.
  5. Considering that I have to see 99% of all my Sox games on TV I do the wave in my living room. I am trying to get my wife, granddaughter and the dogs to join in. So far only the grandkid humors me, but then again she is only 4.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) We can never complain again about hitting too many pop-ups in a game. This is what has made the Polecat so good this year. Last year it seemed he would struggle when things got a little rough for him, but this year he just bears down and does it!
  7. If Politte is on his game the guy can take anyone out. Lefty or righty doesn't mater. He has been great this year. Is Cliff walking batters because he is flat missing or getting piched by the ump?
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) Lets do a hit-and-run with AJP here, just to keep the Indians on their toes. I'm with you Ozzie!!!
  9. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) Jon is throwing fine he has 2 strikes on every hitter and 3-4 occassions got screwed out of a backward K Is it my imagination or are we seeing a lot of that from umps this year. No consistency in how they call balls and strikes and when we get 2 strikes on ahitter the zone shrinks. Our guys are control picthers and when their zone gets pinched by an ump it hurts them more than a Randy Johnson type.
  10. I think Shingo's psyche is very fragile. He has had a number of bad outings early this year and now when he satrts to pitch a bit better he gets in trouble again. He seems to havea real hard time throwing strikes and when that happens it makes his off speed stuff almost ineffective and he isn't a fast ball pitcher even though I have seen it register at about 90 on occassion. I seems he tries to use the soft speed to often, can't find the strike zone and digs himself a hole. Now rumor has it he may be trade bait.
  11. Why we would be giving up two good pitchers for one?
  12. It could be worse so cheer up. Although I agree that Ozuna is not a good option at 3B
  13. If we get anyone at all we don't need it to be someone that has cratered with/for another team.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 07:44 AM) He couldn't throw a strike tonight. Thank goodness he got out of trouble. Anyone else wondering if he might repeat something along that line if (when) the Sox make the playoffs? Thank goodness he showed some emotion. I think Jon will be fine though. First All-Star game and all must make for a culture shock or something.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) This may also be a terrible trade in the long run for the Brewers, as they only have Lee under contract (team option) in 2006, and it's hard to believe that if he puts up numbers like this year in 06 as well, the Brew Crew will be able to sign him. Therefore, they'll have exactly 1 year in which to make a run at the playoffs with Lee, and then they'll lose him. Carlos will probably be a Yankee before long especially if his price tag is high enough for the Boss. Carlos Lee was a heckuva player for the Sox and improved every year, but it has worked out well tradewise or both teams. I am still waiting for the Viz to come through consistently. And I don't mean consistently bad.
  16. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) willie has no place on this team anymore. On friday he had 3 different shots at getting pods over and getting SOMETHING done, he did none of that. It's about a team effort and not about individual sttas. I know we can get hung up very easily on such things, but Willie is a big part of the team. He doesn't get a lot of playing opportunities and maybe he should. He has a lot of talent and like everyone else has a bad game or a bad at bat here and there. I am also a supporter of Carl Everett and Jermaine Dye and hope we keep them both too.
  17. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) this is humiliating. yeah they were on a hot streak but we had garland, buehle, and garcia and we cant win one game. Un-f***ing-believable we sucked this series. I hope this is our losing streak
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) I meant willie harris. Thanks! I thought you meant that. I agree with you. I would want to keep WH on the team
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) Fact is ozuna cannot walk and cannot field very well. With consistent playing time willie's numbers would go up while ozuna's would decline. Ozuna is one of, if not the best fielding second baseman in baseball. Clarify your post QWERTY. I like Willie. Ozuna is one of the best fielding 2B?
  20. At least they got the runner at home and only 1 scores as long as Viz doesn't blow this one again.
  21. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) i feel sick. Me too! :headshake
  22. I can't believe that KW and Ozzie think Viz is efective for us as a releif pitcher.
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) Meatball walks chavez after being up 1-2. This is how it goes almost everytime. Walk the leadoff batter and watch out ...
  24. I forgot that Vizcaino was available. I am not sure I am happy about it though. I just hope he uses his fastball effectively in this inning.
  25. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) Huge game here, We really need to pull this one out Yes! If we can win this thing after being down in the 9th and coming back against a team that has been kicking our tails... Well, ASG break and everyhtingjust makes it that much better. We can start he 2nd half with some fire.
