Another lefty would be good. The question remains-which one will we get?
-
I think that's what they were trying to get Willie to do last year. Use his great speed to beat out the IF grounders, etc. Anyway I thought Willie had some good moments, but he just wasn't consistently good.
-
Is that you Otis?
-
I am not certain this is the same reports that have been made on Alex Cora in the past? I thought the Dodgers were down on this guy because of his less than 100% effort? Anyway, I would think we would look at him as the super sub IF'er position and not as the replacement for Willie Harris.!?

Thank God! Something has happened. But, is the beer a dark beer, a lighter amber, or an import of some kind? I am getting kind of thirsty right now.

Arizona wanted way way more thank you think

You had to know there was more to the Arizona when the Yankmees, with a billion dollar salary limit, said that the D-Backs weren't dealing with reality. But, we stil had people willing to mortgage the farm for one 40 something player. -
I think that's the bottom line. He had potential and showed some fine stuff when he was healthy. He went out there trying to win and when he was what-0-8?- you knew something was more wrong then he just didn't have good stuff. I felt sorry for him and was certain the guy was hurt. Well, he was and probably it means the end of his career just like Pargue and Sirotka and others.

Sorry, if I got under your skins people. Well actually I am not that sorry, but we all have our opinions about baseball management, players unions and even KW in particular. It's a business for certain and our management plays it as well as anyone does. I know I for one am getting tired of it.

We have a ton of outfielders now so why would we need antique Ricky Henderson. He was once a great player, but is not now in any way shape or form what we need.

The trade proposal I just read that involved the Brewers and Sox was as about as ridiculous as any I have seen. When you talk undervalued for Carlos Lee that was it. I read that maybe the Brewers had a utility infielder of interest to the Sox in exchange for Lee? For crying out loud I hope we haven't burned ourselves out this bad that KW would actually think of such a trade. I am not even sure I could support a trade for Randy Johnson that includes as much talent as we have supposedly offered for RJ. KW please let's not let our desire to make the big splash end up with us stripping our best talent away for a 40 year old starter with maybe 2 years till retirement.

Kenny (I have a heart) Williams states, "Once you put on the uniform you are a part of the Sox family. We wish you the best of luck." Then he opens the door and kicks you in the ass and out flat on your face. Danny probably would never had made it back just like Parque or Sirotka, but at least be honest about your feelings.

I didn't know that Ozzie was also a doctor of medicine specializing in foot problems. He must be trying to "Ozzie factor" that bone to heal quicker?
-
The Big Hurt was exceptional in his team play last season. The man is hall-of-fame bound and we need his bat in the line up. However, we need Paul Konerko and Carlos Lee too. If we trade somebody I think we should trade Carl Everett, if someone would take him other then KW, and keep the other guys. I am worried about all this talk about trading sluggers for pitchers. Too may arm troubles to worry about and we need to be careful about what we wish for. If we trade it needs to be to fill a hole without making another one.

It's so nice that you are willing to part with someone else's money.
-
This was a good move by the Pirates. No doubt in my mind they win this trade.
-
Actually I think Esteban Loaiza has a lot of upside to him. I would like to think that KW might consider some negotiation with E Lo and offer some money and incentives. He would be a good fit in the #4 or #5 spot in the rotation and has a good history with the Sox.

I am with you on this YASNY. Carlos lee has improved himself tremedously with a lot of hardwork and is a solid team player. Lee is coming into his own now and ready to really set new levels. He is at the age where we could see super star numbers for 6-8 years more. Why all the push to trade the guy instead of thinking how we build around people like him and some others on this team everyone seems to think need to be traded? We value so little who and what we have.
-
That was my reaction also, but who knows what he did in Little League in Panama? But, this kind of story is why you can't give much credence to rumors. We know better about Carlos, but some so called knowledgable baseball people out there don't.
-
This makes more sense, but BOTH is way to much. I still hope we keep Konerko and Garland. Gammons hasn't been right about any move that I know of. KW has said that we will use Uribe at SS and Willie at 2B. He has also talked up Konerko and what he brings to the team. They sign Garland to a new contract. Trading them isn't what I see happening.
-
The question is how many prospects do we plan on giving up? Where is that Ozzie factor?
-
How Much!? Please be realistic on values. $10M a year for Hudson?
-
Beck, your first mistake here is to assume there is some logic in these moves and then try to put you finger on it.
-
No. We are not gaining anything by trading a bat and a picther, who has done as much as Hudson, in fact we may be losing talent.
-
I think you might be expecting too much unless there are some hot rumors making the rounds that I haven't heard.
-
QWERTY, I believe the original topic of this post was get Kenny Lofton and trade Joe Borchard?! I don't want Byrd anyway and Lofton is now in Philly.
