Maybe we can actually have Freddie go for the CG?
-
My thoughts on this and mind you it is only one man's thoughtful thought process, but Shingo in the 8th and Hermy in the 9th just to mix it up a bit. 1 inning from both, but even 2 innings from one as Tues is an off day.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) I think Willie started it. WHO SAID THAT??!!! Show yourself now...

I had to leave and talk to the offesne back in the 3rd inning. They have scored 2 runs and now we lead. I also gave Garcia the hard stare and he has settled in real well. Thank you very much!!!
-
Unless the offesne wakes up and makes adjustments against this Millwood guy it could bea reversal in the score for game one. Garcia is just to inconsistent and give sup to many hits not to allow some more runs.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 03:29 AM) He was thinking "Stop the ball and keep it in the infield" which is EXACTLY what he should be thinking. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Joe did some good stuff in that Sunday night game too. he adjusted well to Santana's change up, which most of the team couldn't do, and doubled off him and he made a fine defensive play. I think the one he missed was a loss of footing and as YASNY said he did what he could and should do by trying the knock it down. Plus the ump blew the call on Joe blocking Hunter off third base and the ESPN crew said the same thing. Joe Crede is not the problem and wasn't during this game.

QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) I know the Sox are on Thursday on ESPN2 as well. I thought I saw the Thursday game scroll across ESPN, but I didn't see it in the newspaper listings for baseball games on TV. Hopefully it will happen

Ozzie's quote on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 04:14 AM) I believe he said, " Because he doesn't play for Boston or New York, "when asked why Buehrle is relatively unknown outside Chicago. Ozzie is difficult to understand, so I may be wrong. I am thinking that's what I heard too. But, the percpetion that The Red Sox, and the Yanks for that matter, are ESPN's teams can't be ignored. We are one week into the season and look at how many games ESPN has televised between these two and plan on for this week. We have seen this before also where they get fixated on one team and it seems that is all you see. Teams in the central divisions get left out a lot because of the prime time stuff for the East coast. -

White Sox @ Twins: 4/10/05 Game Thread

Hunter bested Buerhle and that sucks. But, Hunter had good things to say about Mark on ESPN after the game. He also said both teams love to play each other and it's fun. I don't like any Twinkie, but at least Torii was gracious and not trash talking tonight. We did not play a good game and Santana put the Sox away after a bit of a rocky road early. I did like how Politte came back in the 8th though and came at the Twins after that botched pop in front of the plate and then the botched call at third on Hunter's steal. Dye made a real good play in right too. Sometimes you are afraid the pitcher will collapse but Cliff hung in there. -
I wished I could quote everyone here. But, that's beside the point since they are all right. I couldn't believe it either when they skipped the Sox. But, it seems like they feed off each other at ESPN BBTN. They gab to listen to themselves talk and know little about what is really happening in the game. The Sox are now 4-2 and with a little luck should have been 5-1 and even 6-0 adn all we get is dissed.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 06:08 AM) It's just April when you are on the verge of getting swept at home by your biggest rival. So Radke can read a calendar?! WOW! The bottom line Twinkie's is that you got beat and we are on the verge of a 3 game sweep. The twinks have always been whiners and the Sox have always been winners.

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 07:07 AM) Heather's Fearless Prediction: JON shows up instead of JUDY! I like your prediction, Ms. Lee, but I am concerned with the news that Garland was feeling ill. I hope he plays today becasue I want to see Buerhle pitch on Sunday ESPN. I can't think of a better match then Mark vrs that Santana dude. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Sorry, but I don't want to hear any excuses this year about Ozzie's lack of experience. The team may be dead now. I put this in green, but I tell you I have my concenrs about the bullpen and our closers. Everyone else seems to think we will be fine. I can only hope. -

We have 106 users keeping track. Yesterday I didn't back to check the game until the last of the 9th and saw us rally. Today we collapse. 3 homers allowed by Shingo? Apparently he wasn't throwing slow enough today. What happened in the 11th for crying out loud? -

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) What did Willie do that got that part of the thread going? I am reading through it but missing something...maybe this damned headache I have has something to do with it lol. I believe Willie laid down a sac bunt that was mishandled for an error and loaded the bases? SacFly by Uribe won the game. Willie just did something good but we can't admit it so exxxcccuuusssseeee meeeee! -

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) And he would have. Geezus.. you all apparently don't agree. So be it. I am at work and had people in the office so I missed the 9th inning rally. May I publicly state that I am very happy with the Sox offense and the 2 homers today. I take back all the whining I did earlier. I have a feeling this is going to be an exciting year. -

I know it is only 2 games into the season, but if we can't score more runs than 1 in 12 innings we have a problem Houston! We retooled the offense and the only difference is now rather tnan lose 11-10 we do it 2-1? We need to get a spark. Iguchi DP just makes you realize that as much as things change they stay the same. -
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) I'd hope not. The guy is 69 years old!!!! Good one Rex! However, I think at his age that his fastball still might be a tad faster than Shingo's changeup. Your thoughts?

I think the Sox trainer and doctor's know what they are talking about. I look for Frank to be back anywhere from 15 April to 1 May and the Big Hurt is going to be hungry! I can't wait to see him in action and really believe he will be out to prove he still has it.

Going by the POSTS it looks like MB got the DP. MLB Gameday is still frozen on the pitch and no results. Mark is simply one amazing pitcher. Let's hope we get a run or 2 in this frame so he can rest that arm for the next start. -

Mark's pitches seem to be getting a bit high in the zone though. Maybe he is getting tired?
