What's the matter with Rios? I have never seen or heard anything of him acting the way Paniagua did.

Next year they need to be somewhere other than Montreal and/or San Juan. I would think MLB in the DC area would be nice. Rather than contract teams they should look at moving some poor attendance clubs around to new areas of the country.

Carlos Lee has made himself into a top caliber player. He works hard all the time and I think he should be in the running with Maggs, Loaiza and the Big Hurt for MVP consideration. (Did I cover all the deserving Sox?)

Small ball is what won us the first game of the series, and got us our first 3 runs yesterday. We have done a much better job of it lately, but we are also still pounding the ball which doesn't hurt either. small ball is also what we are going to have to bring with us when we go to minny next week if we are to gain an advantage in that hell hole and win those games..... Just shows you have to have a well rounded attack and the Sox do!

I said in other posts that I didn't know why the guy was up with the team since he performed below expectations at Charlotte. Any idea if someone from the minors might get a call? Doesn't speak well for the Sox system when teams are bringing up these so called phenoms and we don't have anybody to help in the sytem, or at least that is ready to perform.

You have got to have some hope, vision into future, fun with this game, etc, whatver, whatever, Your right we need to play every game like it's the most important one but saying that I think we can all agree the Sox are in the drivers seat right now. Otherwise we are saying that someone else controls our destiny and that just ain't so.

I didn't read the ESPN story, which I should have done, but I did now. He sounds great, but ESPN gives you all the info and all those signing options and never says anything definite do they?

Maybe we sign the "franchise player" and he starts in the minors? Will that happen?

Seem to remmeber Manuel saying that Robbie doesn't like to play in a day game after a night game. Means he might play tonight and sit tomorrow? But, I would think a lefty pitcher means either Robbie or Jose sit and Graffy starts for one or the other. Graffy will sub for someone during the next 2 games count on that, which game probably doesn't matter.

Sorry to disagree with you, but Foulke had not pitched in three games. Gordon and Marte ptiched every game over the weekend, and had a night off thanks to Colon. Another night off for them would have been beneficial. Gordon won't be available for tonight, but Marte will. Check your facts before you rip JM for not bringing in his two best relievers in a 6 run game. I know that Manuel didn't want to bring in either Gordon or Marte, but I still think that Koch should have been the man on the mound to see if he was healthy. He was here in the beginning of the season and at least kept cheering the other team members on to wins even when he was pitching so poorly. He didn't make excuses either or flip off umpires.

Jose is our Shortstop and he has earned it.

I am tired of watching the Yankees and the Phillies and the Red Sox and the Giants and the D-Backs. The people at ESPN asked the Sox to change the start time for a Red Sox game and I wonder why they didn't ask for the Wed night game versus the Twins. You have two team starting the series in a tie for 1st place and we get nothing. I have to wait till Thur afternoon and see a game on WGN, which should be televising more Sox games also.

That's right Rafa. I was a bit concerned too, but stop and think about it. What the heck is Panaigua even doing up with the team? He didn't do the job in Charlotte and showed he isn't ready to pitch in the bigs yet, but here he is with the team. I would have liked to seen Jon Rausch up if anyone, but that's someone else's call obviously. If Marte or Gordon would have been in there in the 9th this wouldn't have happened. I was hoping that we would see Koch in the 9th and get an idea if he was healthy or not. I think Manuel missed the chance to bring him back in a fairly safe situation to make that judgeemnt. Koch could be a real key for the next 18 games and beyond. Bottom line is we won and I think this is a different team than earlier and they have confidence in themselves. It may be a close game tonight, but Jon Garland is every bit as sharp as Santana and Garland is on a roll right now.
