Just had the opportunity to log onto soxtalk. Also MLB game day to follow the computer dots. What is it with big games and the Sox #5 pitcher? Wright didn't even get out of the 2nd inning. One big inning and it could be the game for us.

Kind of reminds you of '67 don't it? Back and forth between 4 clubs right till the end. We will get a feel tonight for how the Sox will do the rest of the way. If they come out flat, or overswinging on every pitch, or Wright doesn't pick it up, I may join you in you thoughts and start packing away my stuff till next year. Wew have had lots of posts in the past going on about crucial series, but I think this IS the one. I think the Tribe can compete with the Twinkies and if we can win at least 2 of 3 in Boston I will be happy.

If Suppan pitches like Radke at least the Sox are prepared. We need to hit him early, hard and often. Danny Wright has pitched in two starts now right? Hopefully he can give is 6 or 7 good solid innings. It was good to see Billy Koch do good versus the Twinks. Pitching in the low 90's and good location. Makes you wonder how he and the Sox may have fared in game in game 2 and the team in 3 and 4 if Panaigua hadn't been used.

I think Frank took 2 years to recover from that arm injury also. Pitchers need at least that long to get back to some semblance of their old self's and I never could figure out why people thought hitters were any different. 40 homers is a tribute to the effort and quality that has made Frank Thomas a star. I think Frank will be better next year also. Carlos Lee has also improved in every aspect of his game. He has really developed into a star player too. I do think he needs to be reminded of what he said earlier in the year and that was he was going to take more pitches and go to right. He still has lapeses, but overall I think he can be considered as the most improved player on the team.

I was out there in Boston a couple times. In 2000 I saw the Red Sox beat those stinkin Twins 3-2. It made me feel real good. Fenway is a good place to see a game just like old Comiskey. You are right about those fans being hard on their own. They were yelling at Scott Hatteberg calling him a bum and worthless, etc. Maybe your being there will help us win. Paul Konerko vrs the Bosox

I'll tell you that I was impressed with that Cleveland team. They have some good talent and I think they can play the twins tough. The Sox offense has not been real consistent the last 3 series and we need to get some fire and concentration back. Big Hurt and Valentin homered for the only two extra base hits, let alone homers, the last 2 games.

Bmr, old buddy, how can you say the Sox are dead when they are in a 1st place tie? Different if we were in the Royals position, but we are not. I think we are in a great position to take back sole possession of 1st. We need to see now whether Wright, Colon and Buerhle pick it mup. I think 2 out 3 in Boston is not out of he question. Take another 2 out of three in Twinkieland and we are doing good.

Frank Thomas on Thursday vrs the Twinkletoes.

Loaiza is the one guy we have that can come in on any day and throw a shut out. Not to say anything against MB, JG or BC, but Esteban has been the man. I am putting my dime on E Lo for Thursday. If our hitters have any pride they will absolutely crush the Twinks.

The offense went South tonight. I can't watch the game live, but just looking at the stats and all we got were 6 singles and one walk. Well, ok what can you say? If we win tomorrow we are up two on the twinks and on Monday we were tied. I will be taping and at times watching the WGN game tomorrow and hope E Lo gets #20 against the Twins, who I hate more than any other team in the AL except for the one playing the Sox on any given night. Not jumping on you. But PK has been contributing this second half so we should be nice to our big bats. But, I am ticked off too when we lose to the Twinks. I hate all of them.

Something like, "oh wow, Paulie popped up and I was hoping for a big hit," would have been more appropriate.

We can spend a lot of time worrying about tomorrow. My advice ... Don't! Loaiza, and this whole team will show up yomorrow and give it their best.

You are exactly right. The Twins are a good team, and I choke having to say that, but we still have two more at-bats and another game tomorrow. Nothing to be ashamed of winning 3 out of 4.

Just logged on to see Wunsch hit the first batter he faces and puts him on followed by a Twinkie hit. Sox pitchers need to get the first guy out, what the heck is the problem here?
