  1. How about a right handed outfielder???
  2. Lots to complain about this year, but nothing has been more frustrating than the repeated f*** ups on fundamentals
  3. "Roberto Hernandez, he was a player to be named later"
  4. Our luck hasn't been great in the early going, but the worst injury has been to Gordon -- let's be honest, with the way Koner has been playing and with Kep heating up, that may have been a bonus. Losing Dayan hurts, but he shouldn't be out for long. Kep shouldn't be gone more than a few games and Tyler Greene has played well. Losing Gavin stinks, but his injury is minor and that is by far our deepest position. Paulie, Rios, Dunn, Alexei, De Aza all healthy. Those are guys that could really hurt us if injured. Spare me the Dunn sucks comments, let's all agree that he has to heat up or else not a lot matters.
  5. Been 5 games since Dunn's last multi-strike out game. .307 BA, .470 OBP, 2 HR, 3 K in past 4 games
  6. Still seems realistic to think Flowers gets to be about .230 with decent power numbers, which is what many of us were predicting/hoping for. Some bad ABs can't come as a surprise though. As far as ADA goes, I don't know why he's striking out so much. Might be related to his inflated HR/FB ratio though. Quit swinging so hard. He moves his head so much when he swings I don't know how he ever hit, honestly. Glad to see Lindstrom get his first bad outing out of the way in this game rather than an important one.
  7. Not a bad strategy here, leave Veal in and see if he can figure something out
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2013 -> 08:36 PM) Septimo is just starting a rehab assignment, I believe. If Veal is going to pitch like Leyson, maybe the inverse is true?
  9. Again, what the hell were we doing in Spring Training?
  10. Adios, Donnie. What's the deal with Leyson? Might as well give him a look in the near future. Before Gavin went down, I would have said you don't have to have any more lefties...but I don't want Thornton to be our only lefty, as he no longer gets lefties out any better than righties.
  11. Yeah, I can't get too upset about getting shut down by Matt Moore. At least we held him to 6 innings. Great to see Dunn go deep and generally having better ABs. We put Hector in a really tough spot, I'm not going to read much into it. I am hopeful that this will be the beginning of the Hector as starter era.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2013 -> 08:13 PM) The terrible trio of lefties off the bench are producing at about NL pitcher level. Please Hahn, do something to help this roster out. The best thing to do would be to pick one and play that person consistently. Then, send Blake Tekotte back to AAA and pick any right handed OFer you can fathomably play in an MLB game and start him against LH SP
  13. FWIW, Hector's screwball averages about 76mph. It is the pitch that fangraphs categorizes as a split-finger. Hector has talked on the radio about how he uses his changeup out of the bullpen because that's the offspeed pitch that he can find the release point for in a short time. Since he has become a reliever, it has been a pitch he uses about 5-8% of the time. He uses his changeup a lot and it isn't a real good pitch.
  14. 6th and 7th rounders far more intriguing than your typical late round draft picks this year.
  15. I'm watching on TNT, I wish I could have had Stacey's take on this game
  16. This game may end with an astronaut on the court
  17. Should have been a foul call, but I realize it was last five seconds
  18. NBA officiating sinking to college levels here
