  1. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 12:32 PM) Anyone see the video of Bryan Bullington throwing at a player in Japan or Korea who called timeout? He was awarded timeout, and Bullington fired the pitch right at him. LOL.
  2. Someone drafted Tim Tebow in the first round.
  3. Giancarlo to the DL. My fantasy team is so mad. I now have Aramis Ramirez, Aaron Hill, and Giancarlo on the DL.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 11:52 AM) Oh f*** that. This is a perfect example of the double standard that exists with people that cry out about discrimination and tolerance. Broussard says that Collins being gay doesn't compute with his version of Christianity and people are saying he should be fired. God, how dare he have a personal belief and some conviction to tell people about it! That's so progressive and tolerant to be understanding of other people that way. So accepting! I'm not thrilled about Broussard's comments, but if ESPN wanted a Christian POV on the air, then Broussard delivered one of the more sober ones I could ask for.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 10:14 AM) It's not meaningless and I said this story is significant. I just don't think the ZOMG! FINALLY, A PROFESSIONAL SPORTS PLAYER HAS COME OUT, QUEUE THE PARADE! response was really justified. That's all. Part of it was less about what he did but also making as obvious a display as possible that he and everyone like him is welcome. Making as positive of a reaction as possible is important to making the atmosphere hospitable for others to come out and be happy with their lives. A hushed response or (of course) a negative response would just leave Jason out there hanging. The one gay guy. There are people out there watching and seeing if Jason made a mistake and the media and public are making sure that everyone else knows it isn't a mistake to live your life in the open.
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) If Wells contributes at all Wise or Danks will be gone. I agree. Once Dayan comes back we should have one lefty, one righty on the bench.
  7. Jo had moments where his defense came in handy, but his foot has to be the problem at this point. At the least, it is distracting him
  8. career .830 OPS vs. lefties, that's when he'll be playing
  9. Can we fix the spelling in the title?
  10. FWIW, the comment was made in context of Collins supposedly being a devout Christian. I'm still happy for him to lose his job, but I don't see him as the worst guy ever. Pretty s***ty analyst in general, though.
  11. Perfect, though I hope this doesn't mean Dayan is further from returning. He probably has inside track to stay in place of one of Danks/Wise when all are healthy.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 05:57 PM) If Broussard wants to call people out for living in sin, can't he call out about 95% of the NBA? I don't understand why someone has to hide or be ashamed of being gay. It is what they are. Some guys like big boobs, some guys like blondes, some guys like guys. Collins isn't a very significant player, and Broussard would never really have to talk to him. If it were a really big name, he would have said nothing today. He did do that. Except most NBA players don't announce that they are having premarital sex. But he did say that those who have premarital sex are similarly living in sin.
  13. What the f***? Stayed away from the head and neck, hand was clearly going towards the ball. Apparently any foul that involves hard contact, basketball play or no, is a flagrant. Wow.

  15. Kirk Hinrich means a ton to this team and it's obvious tonight. We might just win anyway, though.
  16. I think we might be overreacting a bit -- he basically condemned every person ever in saying that he thinks being gay is bad just like all sexual contact before marriage is bad. Since gays can't be married, all of their sexual activity is therefore bad. He stated a pretty honest version of Christian views on social life. That could have been tinged with far more hate than it was
  17. I think whether anyone is gay or not, there is an expectation that we don't just stare at each other in a group shower. You can shower together without violating each other, whether the motivation for looking is sexual, curiosity, or whatever else.
  18. A right-handed hitting outfielder is far more important than whether we have a left handed specialist
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) Chris Broussard saying Collins is living in sin and rebelling against God. Oh brother. You've gotta be s***ting me. I saw that he seemed unenthusiastic reporting earlier, making it sound okay that some guys would be uncomfortable in the shower.
  20. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 09:45 AM) Mike Wilbon I have a response to this, but I can't post it yet. Hopefully within a few days you'll be able to find it online
  21. Don't Give Up on Adam Dunn Disclaimer: This is content I wrote, but I think it is pertinent to this discussion. Feel free to let me know if there are any major errors, I already found one and have to write to my editors
