  1. There was the one we were waiting for
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 27, 2012 -> 01:55 PM) It's hard to have both. His slider is more consistent than his curve, so that's why he started to use it. His slider was just as integral to him getting out of the inning
  3. Coop saved him
  4. Gavin decided he didn't need a fastball anymore
  5. Gavin really trusting his slider. The last few have looked pretty good.
  6. Gavin just doesn't have much to get lefties out. Doesn't trust his changeup and can't locate his curveball today. Would be a different ballgame if he'd use his change.
  7. lol @ criticizing Dunn on that play
  8. My dad reports that Mark Gonzalez had some critical things to say about Rios...anyone hear this?
  9. Rios = perfect approach
  10. Scared me for a second, they damn near got a run without hitting anything hard there. Keep that curveball down Gavin!
  11. Hawk is right, his fastball looks so fast after a steady diet of curveballs
  12. It's still my opinion that Morel needs to spend weeks in AAA. He needs to prove his health AND his ability to hit. Bill Melton says "you don't deserve to lose your position to injury." No, Bill, he deserves to lose it based on his .170 batting average. If he spent 40 games playing that badly because of his health, well, he's an idiot. Just means that he needs to prove his health beyond a doubt in the minor leagues. We're in a pennant race and I don't want to see a gimp .170 hitter in our lineup
  13. Basically - the "if's" remain "if's" What you are seeing now is most of the stars aligning that we hoped would. We knew this team would be good if Dunn, Rios turned around and the young guys like Viciedo, Beckham, ADA played like we knew they could. AJ playing over his head, I would say Paulie is (.396, wow) but his run production isn't really sky high The cool thing is -- our rotation still has room for improvement, we've only spent a couple weeks now with a real life closer, Beckham still hasn't hit his stride as far as results (damn those hard outs), and we've had no production from 3B despite the hope that Hudson will bring it It's nice when you are on an amazing run like this without EVERYTHING clicking...that means we may have the potential for more/longer runs.
  14. Down with the Sunday lineup! ...actually, we'll probably see them tomorrow in Tampa
  15. FWIW, I love Pods. He was fun to watch play and he was a big part of why our Sox get to wear a ring. However, I'm not a fan of other teams pulling contributing players out of thin air when my team rarely gets that lucky
  16. At this point, you don't do s***. You just wait. It is not out of the realm of possibility that we have a somewhat secure lead on the division by July. ...it's also possible that we fall completely out of it. It could also be a tight race. I have to say I'm feeling optimistic since we've started our run before we go play all NL teams -- gives us more credibility.
  17. This team is getting fun to watch. I honestly can't remember a run like the past week or so in my time as a fan. Some winning streaks and things like that, yes, but this is some prodigious offense.
  18. Finally Robin uses Ohman the right way!
  19. That's the only way we even make outs anymore.
  20. Is Hafner even good anymore? What are they expecting from Sizemore? When do they expect him back?
  21. Nice jump and catch for DV
