He never had this good of a 24 at bat stretch last year. Therefore, he must be fixed

That DL from Memphis is a freakin beast. I wouldn't mind taking him and seeing where he fits. Fack it, he could probably play left tackle
-
My personal interactions with Sean Payton have all been positive. Nonetheless, all of this had to happen.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) So a pulled tooth is the reason for his poor performance with the bat! We can track Viciedo's impending terrible season to this day.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) The pride & joy of Lincoln, IL Anyone that has played HS sports against the Lincoln Railers knows all about Brian Cook -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 06:32 AM) did you just find this out? No, there were multiple posts complaining that the Bears haven't fixed the backup QB problem

Jason Campbell is our free agent backup QB folks

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 12:20 PM) I don't buy that at all. American's love their violence. Look at football, boxing, MMA, etc. Fighting in hockey doesn't hurt the popularity of the sport at all. The biggest problem is people who don't like it, don't understand it to some extent. Whether that means following the puck, understanding the play, knowing the rules, or just not knowing how to pronounce names. I think the biggest problem with hockey popularity is that it is not played nearly as commonly at the youth level as the pro sports it competes with. It is much more difficult to understand a game that you have never played in any way, shape, or form. If I wanted to play hockey when I was young, my parents would have had to drive me 45-90 minutes just to get to a league. Why would they do that if they themselves never played hockey or had the opportunity to play... Instead, I could go in the backyard and play baseball, football, basketball, golf, snowmobile, grabass

I have to think the fighting helps more than it hurts

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) Phillips 4 Cozart 6 Votto 3 Rolen DH Heisey 9 Frazier 7 Francisco 5 Mesoraco 2 Phipps 8 Bailey 1 It's unsettling how long it took me to realize that is the Reds' lineup. Sitting here thinking "damn, we're playing the no-name of no-name prospects today!"

I'm going against the grain here, but I want to see Stewart as a starter. I think guys with tremendous sinkers/2-seamers like that are wasted in the bullpen. Let him develop a tertiary pitch and see what happens.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) That would be a good poll. It would probably be like Presidential approval where there are many silent favorable folks.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) Gonzalez: Beckham replacing Lilli in the lineup designed to get Gordon more at bats. Hey, Dunn has been playing pretty well in the few times he's been at 1st. LOL, what else would that be designed for? Put Gordon in lineup, designed to give the other 8 fewer at-bats.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 10:33 AM) It's still easier to grasp than Dwyane. Dwyane still seems to be "strong typing skills" but I have a feeling it wasn't

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) The O-line is still pretty awful. They will get the blame. We will finally know this for certain. We'll get everyone healthy (at least to start, hopefully) and we'll find out if the "no receivers were open" argument holds true. For some reason, I don't feel like spending another 1st round draft pick on an OL.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 08:22 AM) Jrue strong parental spelling skills ftw

At this point in time, I don't see any way the Bears can lose because of the QB position anymore. There might be the "if he played like a pro-bowler" argument, but there won't be a repeat of last year or much of the rest of the past century. It's a good feeling, we're really 3 deep. Who do we blame now?!?!?
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 08:29 AM) We will learn pretty quick if it is the system, the Packers, or Flynn. Chicago fans can b**** about Cutler all they want, but at least we're not putting our stock in guys like that anymore. It was mentioned to me the other day that all 3 current Bears quarterbacks right now might be the best 3 of the past 10+ years

I just watched Brandon Marshall's press conference and suddenly feel better. He may be mentally ill to some extent, that can be hidden. There is no way that that guy is just some thug, though.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 18, 2012 -> 07:55 AM) After watching the first quarter of that game I think pretty much everyone was thinking the same thing But you know what they say about hindsight....

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 08:05 PM) We may lose the #1 seed and home court throughout if Rose is out for an extended time. Non-believer!

Any word on Peavy's velocity? I saw a tweet mentioning that the movement he had today would be useful if he doesn't get his velo back -- didn't know if that meant he hasn't gotten it back or if it was speculation that he may not get it back.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 11:17 AM) Maybe we can loan Hermie to the Bulls? We'll have to cut Mike James so there's extra space on the bench

Cowley gets just what he wants by preying on the fears of Sox fans. If players that are supposed to be good are good, our team is damn good. Yeah I said it. Can we please just ride the wave of Spring optimism? Adam Dunn is batting over .300 for pete's sake.
