  1. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) Stop saying Tanks...Jesus haha lmao, this
  2. Let's go Jones! Hot damn 1st pitch curve to Miggy was sick
  3. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) nice avy One of these days I'll get around to something new. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) That's a great point. I wouldn't mind if they get rid of the change-up and go fastball/curve. He seemed to be aiming that change-up. He doesn't have to dump it, but if this will be a consistent problem they need to rethink the use. Use it when he's ahead, or use it against the Miguel Cabrera/Prince Fielder types when you're pitching around them and behind in the count
  4. Walking guys with a bunch of missed changeups = bad Getting weak contact with 90% 97mph fastballs = good The bullpen got better today.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) Yeah, we're not saying he doesn't have the stuff to eventually make it. He just needs more refinement though, and I still think they'll have to change how he shows the ball. f*** it, baptism under fire!
  6. Locating his fastball much better after Coop visit. That thing is fast and it moves. Give him a few more outings before you quit on him.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) We have a dynamite back-end of the bullpen. Stewart and Jones are minor league caliber pitchers, in my opinion. This is where Jason Frasor being a ridiculous bust hurts the Sox. The nice thing is the guy that can't find the plate is hitting 97 mph on his moving fastball, has a ton of drop on an 83 mph changeup, and has won "best curveball in White Sox farm system" several years running.
  8. Can't wait for everyone to get worked up with the "I told you we had no bullpen!" For comeback games after a win streak, you're going to need to win with your worst relievers on the mound. Sometimes you don't because they are, well, your worst relievers.
  9. Good pitching would be the prescription for this situation. Attack somebody Nate.
  10. One thing is for sure -- Jones has some very good stuff. Really I believe he has starter caliber stuff, but he's never been able to put it together as a starter so I'm cool with making him a short relief pitcher.
  11. Good opportunity for Jones to prove himself here.
  12. I could be speaking too soon, but I'm starting to feel very good about this team.
  13. Anyone watching this online somewhere? Was able to get yesterday's game to work, but all the links I'm finding today ask me to download something.
  14. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) Draft and Develop a freaking SUPERSTAR player from the system and we'll shut up about the system. It's been 20 years since Big Frank and it seems like a majority of teams have produced a superstar player in that time. My definition of superstar by the way is a guy who puts up amazing numbers yes, but someone who gets national coverage, all-star STARTER considerations. Sports illustrated covers... That kind of s***. Sounds like Mark Buehrle
  15. If you think Andrus is better than Alexei defensively, go home and enjoy your kool-aid
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 03:49 PM) Dunn with 4 k's todxay. I know you have to expect these kinds of days but the horror of last year is so fresh This is my feeling. I'm not in panic mode yet, but gotta hate to see that from him. We'll see how mentally tough he is. Saw a lot of nasty pitches today.
  17. These Detroit announcers are acting like Peavy can't hit 90 anymore or something
