  1. I REALLY like Phil Humber as a person and I wish I knew what was going on. It's very odd after all this that he suddenly loses his command. Unfortunately we have to think about just calling anybody up to start just to get a different look. I'd honestly be okay with Zach Stewart starting and only throwing 60 pitches or whatever his limit may be.
  2. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:16 PM) Time ballgame. Humbelievable. 7:10 pacific
  3. Okay AJ go talk to him and then Robin go talk to him. Don't let him see any more batters. Something is up
  4. Phil is just dejected right now. Someone needs to actually coach him.
  5. Novel thought, the changeup
  6. Very weird how Floyd and Humber both had outings where they had very good stuff and got beat and now are following it up with outings in which they don't have their good stuff at all. Really thought they were both on the cusp.
  7. Alright Phillip, 2 runs does not a bad outing make. Stop the bleeding.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) At least we know Tyler will start tomorrow and AJ will get a little time off here. AJ needs a rest. Agreed. His bat shouldn't cloud our judgment on how much rest he needs as a catcher.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) 5 straight fastballs to Abreu...mix it up AJ! Mark Parent calls pitches for Phil Humber as of his last start
  10. If you're going to give him a hit, don't throw so many pitches beforehand
  11. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) I just love arbitrary dissection! lol you could do this to every season, ever
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:15 PM) I understand what he is saying, a lot of people were saying De Aza was just a AAAA player too. And he is right, a lot of people buried De Aza as Pierre-lite. That does not mean I feel Axelrod is NOT a AAAA, I don't think the two are comparable at all Okay, I thought he was saying we should trade him or something. I didn't understand the comment
  13. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) He's not good. AAAA material. As for trading Floyd to the Jays, that's a silly idea. Unless Floyd's right arm completely fell off today, his value couldn't be any lower. I think Axelrod could be a stop gap, give you a 4.5-5 ERA for the rest of the season if need be. No need to call him up to be our savior if guys are struggling though -- I'd only do it as an injury replacement. I'd rather see Simon Castro. As for the Floyd business, I wholeheartedly agree. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) That is what a lot of people said about de aza too. lol...what?
  14. Phillip, it's time to make us make some hard decisions. Too many good starters > not enough
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:39 AM) With Drabek tearing his elbow, Morrow getting hurt and Hutchison leaving the game with an injury tonight, KW should be on the phone with AA discussing Gavin Floyd. I don't think we could get a thing for him. Brett Lawrie?
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:10 AM) Great loss today and a loss tomorrow. Soxtalk reaching new heights, now calling games before they start instead of just after a few innings
  17. Very tough loss, would have been nice to steal this one after the long road trip.
  18. Crazy down angle on these pitches
  19. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) Have you ever seen another MLB level player who refuses to run out pop ups more than him? He doesn't run s*** out. He never has. AJ hustles more than the average MLB player, absolutely for sure. I'd venture to say that his career doesn't get this far if he hadn't had a reputation for hustling and being in the right place at the right time. His defense lately has been getting lazy though. I have to wonder if it is because he gets far less rest than your average MLB catcher
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) You hate AJ? Hard to hate AJ as a Sox fan. I do think that him and Konerko have been extremely lackadaisical of late I do agree with that and I've honestly been more upset with PK's laziness. I think AJ not getting down on pitches could be helped if we rested him like a normal catcher
  21. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:00 AM) AJ might be the laziest ballplayer I've ever seen. I mean that. God, I hate him. That's a very far leap to make
  22. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) He didn't know where the ball was, how can you blame him? What? Is he blind?
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) Oh AJ, just lazy as hell behind the plate of late. No effort to block that. I'm thinking about the runner now...I think in this situation he was just being dumb and not thinking about the runner at 3B Dumb defense prevails over lazy defense in this case
  24. Good to see more lazy defense from AJ
