  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 9, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) I am of the belief that the CPOTY award should reward a great player recovering from injury season, not a great player coming back from a season of complete suck. I would lean strongly the opposite way I don't know which would win it at this point, though
  2. I like it when "Peavy looking shaky" = shutout through 6
  3. Pretty impressive that Gomez has made something of this outing and given them some innings.
  4. This game has a "Peavy n Reed" kinda feel
  5. Waiting for Jake to beat the hell out of a cooler for that hard out
  6. lol, the grunting and yelling is very bizarre
  7. Is Jake the one grunting every pitch?
  8. The best part is we had other scoring chances that we haven't capitalized on and we're STILL up 8-0
  9. WHITE SOX BASEBALL!
  10. Way to do something Eduardo!
  11. Here's hoping he leaves something up to Dayan
  12. lol, long ass single
  13. Wow, a hit and run with ADAM DUNN woohoo!
  14. Don't f*** with Jake Peavy
  15. Dunn this year is actually better than the Dunn I thought we signed. I knew what he was based on stats, but the threat is REALLY there to go yard every single at bat and swing. He's a fearsome dude. I don't think pitchers are thinking about those big K numbers when they pitch to him anymore.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2012 -> 02:45 PM) He could be a really interesting name to throw around next year. He would come cheap for sure, and has a lot to prove. article was a bit tl;dr, is he expected to be healthy(ish) next year?
  17. I'd rather win this series and later get pummeled than lose in the first round.
  18. lol, Robin put it as eloquently as he could. Basically, "if we could start four guys in the outfield, Kosuke would definitely start!"
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 9, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) Matt Thornton should by no means be a "Buy low" candidate in a trade right now. Someone wants him, they have to pay the normal Matt Thornton high price. Well it's hard to imagine that anyone that looks at Matt Thornton right now isn't going to say "he's in his upper 30's, his fastball has lost an mph or two, his control looks iffy, he gets hammered in save situations" etc. I think both teams would be pleased in the long run with the proposed deal
  20. I think Thornton for Youkilis is fair. Both are buy low right now, Youk even moreso than MT
  21. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ May 9, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Are there any sites that show monthly attendance numbers? I'd be interested in seeing how the early numbers relate to past years. ^ this
  22. JFP vs this asshole No lineups yet, but who gives a s*** because Peavy shuts 'em out EVERYTIME. KEEP THE STREAK (of 1) ALIVE
  23. My dad called me (I don't get CSN) and said that somebody on Tribune Live was talking about the unbelievable amount of attention the training staff had to give Sale's arm between starts. They said the amount of work he needed done to get ready was what you might expect for a guy at the very end of the season, or perhaps not at all. Said the only comparable White Sox was Mark Buehrle at the end of last year, who apparently was hanging by a thread.
  24. Thank you for bringing the facts secondary posters. I don't understand this Dan Johnson business. Sure he hits, but doesn't that cripple our bench to have yet another non-defensive player? Or am I wrong about this guy's defensive abilities?
