Jordan Danks being recalled
I don't expect him to stay long if Fuku stays out. You're really throwing a wrench into the development of a potentially starting-caliber player. Would have been great to see him finish the year in AAA over .300, etc. He may have even had trade value.

6/6 Games
QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 6, 2012 -> 09:59 PM) Does Danks get called up for Fukodome tomorrow? What is the status of our 40 man, do we have room to add him? I sure wouldn't call him up to have him ride the bench during the first hot streak of his career...but maybe that's just me

I think the broadcast team nailed it earlier, Tank is trying to do a bit too much. Let's not forget he smoked a couple of balls today too, though.

I don't believe that's the screwball he's getting hurt on. I think it's a changeup. The 76-79 pitch that breaks away from righties is the screwball, and he rarely throws it. It's clear that the move to the bullpen has cost him part, or perhaps all, of his repertoire. You'll see his fangraphs page calls its a split finger and you'll see the difference in his use this year compared to last. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...&position=P

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 6, 2012 -> 07:07 PM) Methinks the Quintana run of excellence ends tonight. He's due for a clunker... He hasn't even started his run of excellence! Actually, I fear for him every time he goes out. This guy has zero stuff, lol

Any of you Chicagoans eat at Texas de Brazil? I understand that there is one in town and one in the 'burbs. I've been hitting one up in Memphis that is hands down my favorite restaurant, but I heard one of the Chicago area locations isn't as good. What do?

Sox lineup could have been EXTREMELY SCARY
QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 6, 2012 -> 09:18 AM) How bad was Tank at third in '09? Never saw him. I would think they could have worked with him at third... It was hard to tell, really. Lots of wild throws, which is teachable but apparently not worth the growing pains

Hudson still has outplayed what Morel did this year, but he's going to have to go on one hell of a run to keep his position

Lillibridge has been having some terrible plate appearances

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) He also got caught stealing on a fake to third, throw to first move this year. That's not so bad since you are typically going on first movement...this is why I was against outlawing that move. It is effective against the run game

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 09:25 PM) I hope you mean in the minors proving he can actually get minor leaguers out first (which I think you are). Definitely. We're minimizing his value in this role. also...DON'T STOP NOW BOYS!

Humber doesn't deserved to be pulled right now. Hell, he was a better pitch call away from a possible quality start today. His struggles were REALLY bad about 5-6 starts ago, but he's been getting by since. I see no reason that he'll be unable to find that command again.
