QUOTE (CubKilla @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 01:46 AM) Get them whores $40-$50 whores would probably be more of a disservice than anything else. Edit: Not to mention it could be better phrased as $40-$50 communicable diseases. /green
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 01:08 AM) Those f***ing "game changer" rants drove me up a wall. I am one of Hawk's biggest fans, but he is just another reason I'm glad to be done with this f***ing series and team for almost 2 months. You know we're in some s*** when the homer Hawk has the same defeatist attitude as the team.
  3. Bring me Griffey!
  4. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 12:03 AM) that movie was just on tonight I'm not talking about this thread necessarily, but you know how people go to the Cubs, Tigers, or Twins message boards and talk about things they say and we get a laugh. Ever wonder how often people check our board and laugh at us? That's a really good question. If anyone saw this, they would definitely post it and laugh at us.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) As bad as Swish has been, Konerko isn't even on his level, which says just ho bad Paulie has been. If you subtract the month of June, one could argue Swisher's been worse outside of that month.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) Benched yes, cut no. Sorry I don't worship Swish like some do on here. Check Oz's quote the other day and he also ripped Swish's batting average, comparing it to Paulie's. Calling me "the same guy" is an insult. You are not the only person with an opinion on baseball. I root for Swish to do well. Do I think he sucks? Yes I do. If he is the hero of September or the WS I'll be the first to say I was wrong. I think that if we were to bench Swish in favor of Konerko it would probably change nothing if they both played just as they are now. If Swish struggles for the next series or two, Paul deserves another extended chance because Swish has hardly outproduced him previously this season.
  7. I think this Royals series is a good chance to build some confidence. I believe the addition of Griffey will energize the club and picking up some wins will get us mentally ready for what's ahead.
  8. QUOTE (Nokona @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) this is just phenomenal photo editing. i love it
  9. I think many people on here underestimate the change from corner OF to CF. Balls hit to center field seem routine because they hardly move. Balls hit to left and right slice and hook hard towards the foul line as a general rule, and are thus much more difficult to read. However, in CF you need to have better reads because you are responsible for a great deal of ground compared to the corners. One could certainly argue that someone with speed that struggled with the slice would do better and cover more ground in center. I have, as a matter of fact witnessed this. I've played on a team with two centerfielders, one of whom was a great CF the other was an above average CF and neither could play left or right at an acceptable level because the break on the ball was so much greater.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) Kudos to Sox fans for the following....I didn't hear one person suggest that the Sox should play PK at 3rd base. Catcher.
  11. Horrible 2 strike hack there.
  12. Buehrle definitely balks in that commercial.
  13. People just need to step up. Our bullpen wasn't as good as they were pitching at the beginning of the season, and they aren't as bad as they are pitching now.
  14. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:15 PM) IIRC Griffey has done pretty well against the Twins over his career. I may be crazy but perhaps someone who hasn't sat through the bulls*** we play at the metrodome might bring a new outlook to the team, maybe revitalize us a bit. If anyone can, I'd say we got him. He is probably the most respected hitter in the game.
  15. I hope Griff can bring a new attitude to this club. I hope next time we play at the metrodome the guys dont convince Ken that winning there is impossible.
  16. As the all-knowing Hawk says, you make your own luck. We made our own luck here. We think we have bad luck, we're gonna have it here. We've been a defeated team for 4 days.
  17. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) Ha, it's not even that I'm making unlikely predictions. It just seems like certain things are inevitable, and that's why I believe if the fans feel a certain way -- so do the players. They all have it in their heads that everything and anything can go wrong at the Metrodome. I'm with you here. A team leader or coach needs to get up and say that its bulls*** that we use some alibi for losing to the twinkies just because bad s*** always happens at the metrodome.
  18. Screw you Swisher and your falling over on all short-hops.
  19. He f***ing falls over on all short-hops. Why the hell does he do that?
  20. Dare I say it: I think Paulie would have picked it.
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) Twins with two strikes = their hitters shorten up, think other way and up the middle. Why they lead the league in BA with RISP and 2 outs. Sox with two strikes = swing as f***ing hard as possible. This is why we have a lot of strikeouts nearly falling over with 2 strikes. Well you see, that is what they call good baseball. We play corpseball.
  22. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) Swisher has been a disapointment this year. Not as advertised.
