We never sign big free agents. We're more likely to make a trade for big players than sign one like beltran. We might sign a 4-6 million guy, but i don't see a 18 million guy like beltran coming to town. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get him, but i dont see it happening.

We also need a true leadoff hitter. Rowand is more 3,4,5 and Harris speaks for himself. Alomar hasnt impressed me but he knows how its done. Getting a man on base for the power guys would be nice. Lots of solo homers for the sox. Another thing is all the automatic outs in our lineup. Crede, Valentin, Borchard, Harris....

i dont see us spending that kind of money on anybody but maggs. beltran will prolly go to yanks or other big market teams

maggs should be 2-3 million cheaper and is already a known face in the clubhouse and wants to play for the sox anyway. better hitter IMO than beltran. solid defensive player

yeah that would be a good idea...i like to vent after our games about how bad somebody is.

How long can kenny williams sit there without signing a competent fifth starter before we fire him? Needs: Better third baseman Willie Harris or Jose Valentin to get the boot (Valentin's gone but preferably Harris too) Garland put up or shut up Better right fielder Fifth starter (or maybe 1,2,3, or 4)
