Soxtalk: A History
I was wondering earlier about when Soxtalk started and thought this was a good thread idea. Who started Soxtalk? When? Some of you long time posters may enjoy reminiscing.

So I'm thinking of going to Japan
QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 10:35 PM) For the record this is her. Yes, she's pretty hot if you're into Asian girls. You're going to her and youre asking us tips what to do? Here's one: use protection!

Sox vs O's 6:05 CT CSN/WSCR
Another lopsided matchup for our hurlers. I would say our ace is on the mound, but I'll go with "one of our aces," it's starting to look like 1-4 are dominating at about the same level. I'm on a streak of 3, lets keep it alive!

So I'm thinking of going to Japan
QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 10:28 PM) So I casually suggested to someone that I was going to visit Japan in the spring, and the more I think about it the more I might really do it. I have a friend who's been there, and I know a girl who lives there who will be a "tour guide" of sorts. Anyone else ever been? Tour guide, escort, whatever it is you call them these days.

Jay Mariotti leaves the Sun-Times!...Goes to the Tribune? Nope!
I hope he somehow falls completely out of the public eye.

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) Well, they are both muslims and kind of brown, so that is close enough for many. BTW, Obama has finally given me a compelling reason to vote for him. Guess who else is muslim and kinda brown?

White Sox vs. Orioles 6:05 CT CSN
Good to see us pounding the teams we're supposed to. Especially good to see us shut down a team that really is pretty darn good offensively.

Kyle Orton To Start The Season For Da Bears
For the record, Orton does NOT have a bad arm. Anyone who watches closely or has seen him play in college or even been to a practice while he's been on the Bears or Boilermakers would know this. Until his rookie season, he had always been known to the masses as a strong armed quarterback. Rex has a special kind of arm between his ability to throw it deep and hit the out on a line and with accuracy and in those raw respects he exceeds Orton. However, Orton has a rather strong arm. I think people must think he doesn't because of the tentativeness he threw with in his rookie season and his refusal to go to downfield options in that same season. In terms of raw ability, however, if you were gunning Rex's and Kyle's throws with a radar and had them throw as far as they could, they would not be far apart.

CQ for MVP and ARam for ROY
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) Longoria is a much better defensive player than Alexei dude. I think Alexei may become a better defender, and it is difficult to compare 3rd basemen to 2nd basemen.

Site Experiment
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) Yeah I just always skipped the catch all thread, sometimes before I forgot, other times because it was a completely random thread. I would rather just skip over random threads in PHT that don't apply to me.
-
Site Experiment
I never looked at the catch-all thread. Too long and I always read threads based on something catchy in the thread title, that obviously is missed with the Catch-all.

White Sox vs. Orioles 6:05 CT CSN
Time to keep the streak alive! I'm 5-1 all time in game threads I believe and would like to keep improving.

WINNER WINNER
I like that Swish gets on base, but I hate the fact that he can't hit the damn ball. I would gladly have him trade some on base percentage for some batting average.

8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
Well Horacio has a good opportunity today to show that he is to be trusted as big time reliever for us.

8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 03:57 PM) Damn, I thought Richard was "starting" this game. Have we heard who will be? Clayton will start the regularly scheduled game.

Game 2! Sox vs. O's WCIU Start time after tiebreaker
Two young, streaky, lefty pitchers with limited ML experience to go after each other immediately following the tiebreaker game. Pressure may be on Clayton to save some pen arms depending on how deep we go in the tiebreaker, we'll be at least one reliever short, possibly more. If only I could see WCIU games!
