Rowands been slumping lately. He's 4 for his last 25, and i want to see him finish on a high note. Does a good manager sit him for the rest of the year or let him play it out the last couple?

"potential"....the most dangerous word in sports.
  4. When I saw you guys talking about working hard to improve, i thought about aaron rowand. about a year ago i started hearing about how he had been working on his fielding, and now he is IMO a gold glove caliber centerfielder. hittingwise, .310 isnt s***house luck either. you cant tell me some work wasnt put into that. Of course, it does appear he gets some credit. maybe not too underrated
  5. one problem with burke 32 years old.
  6. Playerwise, i think we got the better of the deal. But Contreras' contract is too big.
  7. 7-10 months for him to be able to function at all as an athlete. Many players who have had ACL tears have said that they aren't 100% for a good two years, if ever.
  8. we do have some room to trade, but we're not a small market team so we shouldnt have to act or play like one.

Kenny was getting to a point of desperation trying to win to keep his job and credibility. Sadly, credibility is what he lost in the deal and maybe his job soon will be lost too.
  10. If we competed in the AL East, that's because you're a great team. If you compete in the AL Central, thats because you're in a weak division.
  11. Well we'd all win if we had 200 million to spend.
  12. Thomas can't produce, goes down with injury. Everett continues sucking, but must play. Ordonez signs to yankees. Valentin resigned, Uribe moves to second. Rowand hurt, replaced by Harris in center. Davis, Burke, and Alomar provide no production. Konerko tears up first half, blasting 30, but enters home run derby and slumps the rest of the year. Lee decides he's a basestealer, attempting to steal everytime he gets on. 13 SB 87 CS. Brandon McCarthy starts 5-0 with a perfect game and only 3 ER. Goes down with torn labrum. Crede plays to his .220 20HR 50RBI expectation. Buehrle goes 12-12, along with Freddy Garcia, both with near 5 ERA's. Contreras goes 7-16, leading the league with 54 wild pitches. Throws 4 fastballs all year. Garland pitches to a 8-8 record and a 4 and a half ERA. Many fifth starters tried, but to no avail. Sox finish dead last in MLB.

We definitely need a fifth starter. You can't have a winning season when 20% of your games are automatic losses.

Hawks getting old. Just called Detroit's center fielder Carlo Lee
  15. hell if he sat on the bench the whole time he was here i would have been his biggest fan!
  16. I hope shingo continues to be a great closer in the major leagues
  17. Its official now boys. I just listened to his press conference and read the press release. Torn acl and miniscus and various sprains. 10 months minimum. He's liable to be out 2 years
  18. I rarely see Garland go deep into games
  19. *patience wears thin with garland this year*
  20. little optimism never hurt anybody

i look through our drafts and see about 95% 90 mph throwers.
  22. i know a guy thats a cubs fan, he says he doesnt like the sox because there are too many hispanics and blacks. a cubs fan says that!

Anyone notice we never draft any hard throwers? I got really excited about McCarthy because with his size I thought he'd be a flamethrower. Maybe when he fills out he'll throw harder.
