projected wins by our rotation
im talking physical ability here. he has good stuff, and his good stuff could win him 20 games
-
5th starter
hey now there really is a reason for optimism
-
We know it's Eckstein...
For some reason I can see him running up to the catcher and kicking him in the balls.

Cheer Up
man we would have been in a hole just for fourth starter, not to mention 5th

Good Couch artice
one thing the white sox dont have that some other teams have (see the cubs) is the coolness of going to the game. going to a white sox game isnt considered "cool." even when the cubs suck, its still the cool thing to do to go to the game and get drunk

2005 Sox Payroll
thanks, i've been wondering what those numbers would be

projected wins by our rotation
well he wont really be doing the leading, but the extra ten wins he'll give us will give us the playoff berth and dependable 3rd starter

projected wins by our rotation
I like making bold predictions, and i think that garland has the ability to win 20 games (dont get me wrong he may win 11 games and continue to be the most hated man in our rotation)

projected wins by our rotation
Hell I hate the guy but I think if he steps it up this year he will have 20+ wins. If that happens, and everyone else works up to expectations, we'll go to the playoffs

projected wins by our rotation
Buehrle - 21 wins Garcia - 18 wins Garland - 20 wins (something he's completely capable of) Contreras - 13 wins El Duque - 11 wins (he wont get very many starts, ebing in the fifth spot) 83 wins by our starting rotation, call me crazy but garland could surprise us all this year, and could be the missing link that will bring us to the world series

"One More Piece of the Puzzle"
IMHO, Willie should rarely start unless he's giving Uribe a rest. Quite frankly, I want Eckstein at short and Uribe at 2B. And the less of No Hit Willie I see, the better.

This year compared to last year....
i like that we're at least willing to change and show some kind of commitment to winning....some teams would have just thrown in the towel and traded for prospects by now....
-
Pierzynski still possible
im not too worried about the catchers position...if we upgrade it great, if not, oh well
-
Value Over Replacement Players
so its just the average replacement player not what that players replacement would be on his team
-
Value Over Replacement Players
can you explain this statistic a little more for me?

Best Pitching Staff in the AL Central
well, this is definitely not a pitching dominated division i must say
-
Still need a starter.
well, i'd say those last three are guaranteed .500 records and all potential 20 game winners

5th starter
Well if you think from a casual fan's perspective, it's like whatever that happens we'll probably find a solid guy sometime during the season. (which is very possible) But from an employer's perspective (yes you JR) if your stupid GM goes consecutive seasons without a fifth starter, especially when one is usually available via free agency (not to mention that may be whats keeping us out of the playoffs yearly), it's time to MAKE him make a move or move him yourself and get a new guy in there. But I'm staying optimistic, we'll either sign someone or find the missing link in ST or sometime in the season.
