Seems like he gets a lot of leadoff hits.

I like OC a lot more now that I know he wears AF1s.

The disaster known as the Sox bullpen
You have to remember that two of Thornton's runs came at the beginning of his fourth consecutive inning against Detroit, and I really don't hold him accountable for what happens after he's left out there that long. Does anyone else feel like Wasserman gave up a ton of cheap hits?

Did I miss something? I didn't realize that when you lose this badly it counts as more or something. Can't win them all. We had several bloop hits, Gavin was on the edge of giving up a ton of runs at all times. We had some things go our way early, it isn't as if we thoroughly dominated them and pissed it all away at once. This is a game we deserved to lose, just like many others.

Losses like these tend to breed losing streaks. If we win tomorrow, that obviously is negated. Every team will have games like this, who has the shortest memory? A game ahead of Minnesota or tied is not relevant, if we can't outplay them by one game the rest of the season we don't deserve the playoffs. As I have said previously, if we play near our potential we'll have this thing in the bag.

This loss is irrelevant if we go out and win tomorrow.

Sox at Oakland A's Part One
QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 10:38 PM) wish we had someone in our pen that could strike someone out, now that a runner is at 3rd base We do, they both already pitched, one is the reason that the man on third is the winning run.

Damnnnn, can't throw pitches like that to him. He's such an easy out, but we can't do it.

Richard going back up...
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) To be clear, if this were being done because Thornton was going on the DL and we wanted another lefty in the pen, well i'd be fine with it. But to send Broadway down and bring back Richard is baffling. I can't wait to see where this is all headed.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
Garland always showed flashes of the ability to dominate at the big league level. These flashes caused us to be dissatisfied with his ability to be consistently average, which is in its own way great. Had a different pitcher, one without such high expectations from us, been so wonderfully average at all times for 8 years, that person would have been much more adored.

ALC Final Standings Poll
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 12:30 AM) I have no idea. This sure is exciting but I truly think anything can happen. It'd be a shame to not make it after doing well this far in the season. I don't like that 10 game road trip to NY, Minnie and KC. It scares me. If I had to bet the life savings I might flip a coin or go with my gut feelng, the scrappy Twins. When it's all said and done, all three of the teams probably won't be playoff teams.

ALC Final Standings Poll
I'm surprised at the results so far. Only 1/18 have the Sox losing? I like it. I don't think it ends in a barnburner, it rarely does.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 11:31 PM) If the Sox call up Poreda on September 1st, and he stays on until the 30th, does his clock start? That's a good question.

All-Time Worst big-name players of the Sox history
My question is are they just big names that didn't produce as in acquiring players that used to be good but hadn't produced in a while ala Griffey, or people we expected to produce but did not.
