Russia v Georgia
My initial reaction was that Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee would not stand for this.

Decapitated and ATE him?
Where I live, if someone is getting killed, I would venture to guess people would come out of about half the houses fully armed.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 12:20 PM) The squirrel story and the Bobby Jenks warm-up story are two of my favorite funny baseball stories in recent years, and both are from Pablo. Gotta love him. Refresh me, if you will.

Decapitated and ATE him?
My mother told me she read somewhere that the man's ex-wife had already tried to get him mental help.

Decapitated and ATE him?
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 10:52 AM) Yes, if he was threatening all of them or as someone said, the driver, and they were all in danger i can see the correlation and i'd agree people would probably band together to protect themselves. But with this stroy, at the point when everyone would have realized what was going on, it was too late for the victim. I just cant see, or justify, putting yourself and others at risk to approach a psychopath with a knife just to prevent him from mutilating the body. That may seem callous, but the guy was already dead, at this point there isnt anything anyone can do. Agreed. However, I wasn't there, but it seems as if it would be difficult to know if he intended on being finished killing after the first kill.

2008 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) So today at my side job, at a sports store, I bet a customer that the Sox would finish with a better record then Texas. If the Sox do, he owes me 2 authentic jerseys (official game jerseys for whatever team, whatever color, and whatever player). If the Rangers do, I owe him the same. And, don't say we're betting nothing because these jerseys START OUT AT $200 each. I figure he has no chance, with the Sox being 13 over and Texas being 4 over. Thoughts? No chance for him. Can you spare a jersey? B)

Decapitated and ATE him?
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) If he was say, trying to go after the driver while the bus was moving, then of course you have to try to stop him. The first rule for any responder is to make sure you don't become a victim yourself, because all that does is make it harder on everyone. More EMT's required, more blood spilled, more risk. If a person is having a genuine psychologic episode that you can't deal with, and he's not putting anyone else in danger, the rule is to back off and wait for more advanced personnel. The only reason to violate that rule is if he's legitimately putting other people in danger with his behavior. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I think it would have been hard to know if he was going to quit eating and run out of that thing knives blazing to get his second course.

August Wallpaper
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 12:36 AM) Just for sh*ts and giggles, we should just vote for Griffey to be on the September wallpaper. We have to, it may be our last chance.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 11:44 AM) Actually you may be gaining some fans and losing others. Which is kind of the point. And the story line of hero, golden boy, gets full of himself and is b****ed slapped to reality (Ozzie), then, learning that lesson and against adversity (also Ozzie), becomes the star he was destined to be (Sox fans can hope). Is almost straight out of Hollywood. I can't help but to picture you as a giant ape.

Decapitated and ATE him?
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) That is entirely different and i dont think that analogy really works well here. Well the circumstances are certainly quite different, but I know if I was on that bus I would have tried to band together some men to just bombard him and get him away from the body and his weapon...and perhaps give him a few rib shots. I think with enough people going at him, none of the attackers would have been stricken with the knife.

Carmines vs. Sox 7:11 CT CSN
When I was younger, I had some illusion that since there were two different Sox they must dislike each other and the rivalry was heated. Not the case though.

Decapitated and ATE him?
What I thought of here was on 9/11 when the passengers of one of the planes stopped the terrorists from crashing it into whatever building they were aiming for. I think a lot people, at least Americans, would band together against someone doing such a terrible deed even if some damage had already been done. (Who's to say he wouldn't go after someone else with that knife?)

Pablo Ozuna embodies the ideal that the 2005 team was supposed to be. Hard-nosed, hard working, production despite a lack of top talent, clutch, good defender, do anything for victory. Grinder.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 11:30 AM) I can tell you all one thing, I'm sure not gaining any fans in this thread. I'll drop it. Although Sonic, I think you can find better words than "retarded" to use on the message boards. What is this, 2nd grade recess? Yep, I just took you off my top posters list.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 11:24 AM) I think it is more ridiculous to see someone with less than a full season on the list. But to each his own. I imagine there may be someone coming up on the list because of his sex appeal. That may be a good reason for some of our members, not so for others. If sex appeal was the major factor, BA would be #1 all time!

Loser
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 09:31 AM) That was so insanely dumb, and I am pretty sure Cox knew it as soon as Thome turned the corner. You could see him saying "stupid, stupid" to himself after the play. I dont knwo what the heck he was thinking. Cox waved his arm as Raburn fielded the ball, it wasnt like the ball was still skipping around Even though its still a bad call by Cox because he should have seen it, but didn't it look like Thome was hardly even trying from second to third, it seemed like there wasn't even any intensity.

Decapitated and ATE him?
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) He was sitting right next to the victim. How many stab wounds do you think he could have gotten in before anyone could have jumped in to help? Enough to kill that kid, that's how many. They did the smart thing, let him finish up that kid, get off the bus and barricade the door. No I'm with you here that the victim couldn't have been saved. However, fear or whatever you would have called I thought would have driven the passengers to get the guy under absolute control because just because he takes out one doesn't mean he's done. I would have hoped a group would have tied him to a seat and perhaps beat the s*** out of him.

Decapitated and ATE him?
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) Try to save yourself, that's what you would do. He stabbed that kid how many times before he started taking him apart? That kid was done, there weren't gonna be any heroes. I'd be thankful that he decided to spend all of his time on that one kid instead of slashing a few other throats, including possibly mine. Don't they have the same kind of security screening to get on a bus as for a plane?? How the ef did he get a knife on the bus? ......and if he was able to saw through someone's neck bone, it couldn't have been a tiny swiss army knife on a key chain either. Think people will be dozing off on the bus any more? I'll be honest, I'm fairly surprised the guy wasn't apprehended by the passengers. Maybe it's the Canada factor. What was it, 37 passengers? 5 of them against the one man and knife probably would have ended quickly and without additional harm. No way do I let that motherf*** go.

YASNY and I, Just a couple of rednecks . . .
I'm absolutely not a Christian and I couldn't give two s***s about if under God is in our Pledge or if there are Ten Commandments someplace. The great men who created this country were Christians, it is part of our heritage as a nation, I don't believe that the Christian faith directly dicates what our government does. I don't know why people can't just ignore it. If you're offended by under God, don't you think our forefathers would be offended by the lack of it?

Loser
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) There was a study done the other day that said the Sox would give up 28 more runs the rest of the way with Griffey Jr. in the outfield than if they had a league average defender. That's pretty much 100% unjustifiable, even if true.

FM Transmitter for iPod
I live in a rural area, but my itrip I believe its called works great. Not as a good as a cd, but acceptable. Sometime there is interference around some stoplights, thats about all I've noticed.
