I always hated going to people's houses and asked to remove my shoes. Somehow I've become one of those people.

I don't care about shoes, aslong as they're not muddy or something.

As long as you dont have dog s*** or mudd on them its fine with me.People who dont want you to wear shoes in their house are lazy and dont want to clean as often.

My college apartment, shoes are fine.

Our house has white carpet. Gotta lose the shoes.

If there is carpeting (and I'm not sure why anyone would have carpeting) I understand the no shoes rule. If there is flooring and they ask me to take my shoes off, I'd think they were a little crazy. I'd do it of course, but would visit as little as possible.

Then, they make you wear a pink shirt, drop your pants, and lip-synch to "Old Time Rock and Roll."

shipps loves mudd, especially in puddles?

I've got hardwood floors so as long as they don't have mud or whatever else on em, it's fine.

Just so we are clear,Iam NOT a fan of Puddle of Mudd.Iam just a fan of spelling mudd with to d's and shipps with two s's.

Shoes are fine. I would never ask someone to take off their shoes...

But when I go to someone's house, I sometimes ask if they want me to take off my shoes.

I want people to take off their shoes, and I think it is good manners to do so, but I won't ask someone to.

And where do you stand on Roger Mudd?

I was expecting so much more out of this thread judging by the title.

When you walk through my door, you play by my rules. You take off your f***ing shoes!

I enjoy misleading.

I agree with most here: carpet = no shoes. Anything else shoes are acceptable, so as long as you don't got mud on them.

I have all hardwood floors, so shoes are fine. Actually better because I never can manage to sweep up all of my sewing pins.

At the beach, no problem, wear whatever you got on, kick them off, I don't care.

Back at home, they must match your outfit or you will be asked to go home and make a better selection.

I typically take off my shoes and expect others to do the same. Not a big deal if you don't, as long as they aren't all dirty.

I don't expect people to take off their shoes, unless they're dirty.

Simple enough to follow I think.

Our carpet can't really get any worse than it already is so I don't really care either way. The worst thing is when people come in with wet shoes and I'm walking around with socks.

Wet socks suck.

I have three kids, so dirty shoes on our carpert might be an improvement. I only encourage people to remove them if they just came in out of the snow or something.

I always take mine off at others' houses, but I take my slippers with me.
