This game will not be on in Champaign, correct?
-
...and here I thought it was going to be a Michael Jackson thread.
-
I turned the game off after he hit Everett and issued a walk to bring a run in. How did he look afterwards? I saw his line and it appears he was at least serviceable.

QUOTE(Hatchetman @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) he's proven more than boone logan. Even if Haeger threw with his left hand, could you imagine a knuckler for a LOOGY? MERCY!

With Ricky Manning Jr. the latest addition to the Chicago Bears defensive unit, Jerry Angelo and company are now primed to look wide receiver or tight end with the 26th selection in the 2006 NFL Draft. While there has been some serious speculation of the Bears trading down in or completely out of the first round, there promises...MORE

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Huh? I think you may be confusing me with someone else. It's just opinions, and I really don't care whether or not you agree with me. I just don't like when people say things like you said there. Agreeing with you about Jay Cutler does not make Mel Kiper a better talent evaluator. No, this is not the first time this has happened with you. I am in no way, shape, or form mistaken. Let me re-phrase that, just for you, won't you: It is in my most humble of opinions that Mel Kiper will be correct in his belief that Jay Cutler will amount to nothing more than a J.P. Lossman or Kyle Boller in his NFL career.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) Old timer? Nah, that's cool. Thanks for the sig remark. I won't retire it, but I think I'll put it on the DL for awhile. In jest, of course.

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 03:22 PM) So you like him when he agrees with you? All you do is stir the pot, my man. I'm done getting in it with you anymore. It is your way or the highway.

Illinois's Shaun Pruitt arrested
AddisonStSox replied to thedoctor's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Pruitt would have had his hands full, the bouncers at Cly's are some big dudes. Half of me wishes his arm got broken. You would think these players would know to stay off campus bars. s***. Every time they are out, it's a circus atmosphere. -
That Jim is a big boy. Ain't a place to go on that one, JimmyJack.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) It's on in Champaign...eat it Addy Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuesssssssss!!!! I take back everything I've ever said about our space program.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) Um...ok? Oh, shut up.
-
This would just be huge. Ball four, base hit #5
-
Well, looky here. Atta' boy, Pablo. (1)Move him over. (2)Get him in.
-
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) f*** the bulls, this is gay So, what happened to your fancy-pants NASA television hook-up? Both the CSN+ games haven't been on.

According to gameday, the wind is blowing in an already cavernous ballpark. It's going to get interesting. If this lineup is going to rely on the big fly tonight, it could get hairy.

QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) If Ross is just a warm body in the outfield, what would you call Ozuna ...hmmmm...what's a step above a warm body?
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) Right, but he can also play OF. Which is why I don't understand him getting NO starts so far. He NEEDS to get some ABs. Wait. Says who? I'd hardly call that "playing" the outfield. I'd call it, "a warm body to stand in an outfield position."
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) Seriously, why the crap do we have Gload? He's wasting space on this roster, by no fault of his own; unless hes just sucking, but then if he is, why is he still here? I'm so confused. Who knows. There are two things Gload has/had going for him coming out of ST: 1) He has shown he can consistently hit MLB pitching. That was more than could have been said for Borchard 2) With Gload on the roster, Thome seemingly never has to play defense or see time at 1B.
-
Well, it's shaping up to be one of those "steal a win" nights. At this point, I'm most concerned about Garland. Yes, it will be interesting to see what Thome, Konerko, and Cintron can do against him, but, tonight it's all about Garland. If Garland keeps this lineup in the game, that's all you can ask for.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 06:12 PM) He's an absolute piece of s*** on the field. Intensity is fine....being a whiny little b**** is just pathetic at this level. It's unprofessional in the extreme. This guy beats himself. What a f***ing clown. He's perfect on the Northside. All show and no go.
-
This Zambrano is a f***ing joke. This clown just broke his bat over his knee after striking out. Hey, s***head, you're down 3-0 and you gave up bomb. Work on throwing some strikes. I don't care how what "stuff" this douche has, if he continues to wear his heart on his sleeve, he won't amount to anything. If I had a nickel for everytime this guy stomped around the mound, or got flustered, or yelled on the mound or in the clubhouse I'd buy some scout seats. Do you ever see Buehrle pull that s***? No sir.
-
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) I think he's pretty good... but he tends to play his favorites... He hates Jay Cutler... In that, he is correct. Case in point. The guy knows his stuff. Cutler is J.P. Lossman/Kyle Boller part deux.

Thought you all might enjoy this.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) After working with some football teams and agents, I can confidently say that they trust his evaluations of players more than anyone else in the field....and it's not even close. Kiper Jr.'s big book every year is the Bible to football executives. The only contact I have in the Chicago Bears organization--front office--has told me the same thing on not one, but two separate occasions. He has a sterling repuation amongst NFL officials and his opinion is highly regarded.
