Thome is going to be wearing black pinstripes next year. Unreal. This is quickly becoming a reality.

Rowand's 'perfect life' may be changing
AddisonStSox replied to Pierzynski 12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm really not used to feeling like this, but, this is one of those cases in which my fandom is blinding my baseball awareness. I ain't going to lie, I'd hate to see Rowand go. He was a part of the team that brought a World Series to Chicago. I'm always gonna have a place in my heart for Aaron. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Ya, I loved the handicap ramp. That was great. Plus when they show up and shoot down the tree and it falls on the house. THe guys like get off my property and Peter's like, we should probably leave. Oh man I was rolling and when It started I immediately thought of the Vanagon. Very positive PR for the BandVangon. I was thinking the exact same thing--smilied the whole episdoe. Should help recruitment next season...God willing.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) How is our 3B prospect Josh Fields looking? How far away is he from contributing? From what I've read/heard...pretty underwhelming. High K total, not really blowing anybody away. Should start the year with Birmingham. Please correct me if I'm wrong...I know ya'll will.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) Crap, now I have the Thanksgiving Song by Adam Sandler stuck in my head... ...I like to eat the Turkey in a big, brown shoe.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Pretty annoying that people think boras will ever rape us with crede unless he goes adrian beltre on us anytime soon. People here would think he can get pablo ozuna 3 years six million per year else where... Sorry, but history is on the side. Boras does not have a positive relationship with the Sox organization. I know I don't have to tell you this, but, so bad, the Sox won't draft his clients. That's pretty serious stuff. I don't think this to be the case with Crede, but I understand the concern.

Wasn't that perfect? That whole episode had me laughing my ass off. How about the handicap ramp in the van? They were all pumped to go out and then had to wait for Joe to get in the van. You're right, man. Family Guy is back on top. That had to be my favorite new episdoe by far.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) You can if you're also going to trade for Juan Pierre. /out

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) If the Phillies pick up more than half of Thome's deal, I wouldn't be shocked if the Sox agree to this trade. Remember, we were going to deal Young in that Griffey Jr. trade. Yup, we sure were. EXCEPT, Rowand was not rumored to be a part of that deal. You can't trade both Rowand--the starting CF of the NOW--and Chris Young--the starting CF of the FUTURE. Can't do it. I like Brian Anderson as much as the next guy, but you can't do it. Kenny knows this.

Bruce on w/ Silvy and Carm now. Thinks a major league pitcher won't have to be involved...but, (get this) says we have some great minor league outfielders like Chris Young and Jerry Owens. Yup, that's it Bruce. Aaron Rowand AND Chris Young for Jim Thome. Survey Says: BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Stick to reporting there Brucey. Let's leave the conjecture out of it.

Oh gosh, this is a toughy. I'm just a serious softy when it comes to the hollidays. Eating all the great food, playing with my God-kids and watching football with a full stomach...nowhere else I'd rather be.

Kenny: Bill, do you understand that you would be brought here to spell Joe Crede, our starting third baseman, at third, while being able to fill in on a semi-permanent basis if he were to go down to injury? Bill: Yes, I just really want to be apart of the Chicago White Sox organization. = Good deal, nice signing

The Info-tainment continues. Just take everything Levine says with a grain of salt. I'm sure there is some factual base to this rumor...the guy isn't going to make stuff up. But, as ESPN Radio's "Baseball Insider," I'm sure he is compelled to report these rumors in a very weighty fashion. Kenny Williams brought a World Championship to Chicago after 88 years. I'm keeping the faith.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 07:40 AM) How did you get tix to this event? Business connections through Sony and MLB productions QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) What was the crowd like? Were people cheering throughout the film? The crowd was mostly professionals, but, there were scattered "fans" here and there with jerseys, hats, flags and such. Throughout the video, the crowd was actually yelling and cheering whenever Joe or Aaron made a play; it wasn't anything like a real movie premiere. There were hoots and hollars throughout...it was very cool to be apart of.

Didn't mean to come off like that, gang. Just wanted to share the expierence. I'm sure there are some much, much, much better than mine out there. I'm just drunk off the Silver and Black Kool Aid right now. Hope you all would share the same.

Amongst about 100 White Sox fans, corporate sponsors, and MLB officials, Joe Crede and Aaron Rowand watched the world premiere of the World Series DVD put out by MLB. After giving a real short word of thanks, the two sat in the same row as I on the other side of the aisle. The two stooges were in rare form. Before the DVD started, Aaron was tossing popcorn in Crede's hair and screwing around...the chemistry was pretty obvious. The DVD was fantastic. You guys are really going to love it. I'm not going to give much away, but, let me just say the mic'ed players and other fantastic footage had me laughing throughout. It was really well done. We got to see a side of our team we only thought about on the surface. I caught myself glancing over at Joe and Aaron more and more as the DVD went on, just to watch their reaction to the amazing feats they were witnessing...the feats they made possible. Ranging from hysterics to holding back tears, I found their reactions to be just as enjoyable as the show...in fact, it was pretty dang cool watching this for the first time with two guys from the team in the audience. Afterwards, I snagged Aaron for a picture (which I'll be scanning later along with the ticket stub), and found two seconds to congratulate Joe on the year. Your boy came through Soxtalk; I thanked Rally Crede for being Rally Crede: Addison: On the internet, Soxtalk.com, we called you the Rally Crede, you were our guy. Crede: Well, thanks. I'm honored. It's sunk in, Soxtalk. We are World Champions.

Charlie Steiner interested in White Sox job
AddisonStSox replied to Fenway's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Does anyone close to the situation know if Steve Stone is even in consideration? As depressing as this situation is, getting out of it with Stone would be coming up aces. Does either he or the Score/Sox have any desire to broadcast year-round? -
I'm just going to stick this here: Since we have all but packed Damaso's bags for South Florida, who does Kenny intend to fill that void with? Looking at the lefties in the system, it would appear nothing doing there. None of those kids seem really ready for the bigs, unless, of course, someone like Haig were to impress in ST. Would we go into the season with Neal as the only LH in the pen, or, are we looking at a FA signing?
-
That would be quite the move for the Padres, considering Gload isn't a free agent. This would be a historical signing to say the least. I give you: our new play-by-play man.

Blockbuster Move -- Boston & Florida
AddisonStSox replied to nitetrain8601's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) WOW, you people are wild on Josh Beckett. This past season is the only time he's ever won 10 games. He is a walking blister. This is a chronic problem. The 2003 World Series has come and gone. He's never even thrown 200 innings. I just don't get it. Of course you do the deal if you are Florida and cutting payroll. Willis is your horse, not Beckett. Lowell is way overpriced. I mean I'm not too hot on Blalock, but this deal isn't as bad as you make it out to be. If Beckett ever reaches 200+ innings in a year I'd be shocked. I was starting to worry I was the only one to think this wouldn't be a crippling move for the Fish. Beckett reminds me of Wood with all these injuries and phantom injuries. That bilster-issue is a serious problem. If you can get either Danks, who is a very highly touted prospect, or Diamond--two, young promising pitchers--in a move to cut salary and obtain Hank's bat, I like the move. Well said, bozley. -
Yeah, I don't read the books, but have seen all the movies. Saw the newest yesterday; it was a pretty good film and the darkest, by far. Liked it.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) It's not exactly what we wanted, the DVD comming out in March is only the 4 world series games. It doesn't include any of the other 8 playoff games like the Red Sox and Yankees DVDs did. Ah, gottcha. Well...we're getting closer. This is a start. I gotta pace myself.
