  1. what are you trying to goad me or something?
  2. Real nice, steff. That really adds a lot to the proceedings.
  3. If we trade Lee AND konerko then we are not a smart team
  4. dave kingman was a .230 hitter and a jerk. Richie hits aroudn .270 and is nice with a lot of power. unfair comparison
  5. There isn;t necessarily somehting to this, but there is a backstroy that makes no sense. The Rangers are heavily interested in both Richard Hidalgo and Carlos Delgado. Why do they want Delgado with both GOnzalez and Teixera? I have no idea. If they lose out on him, could they want Paulie? Me thinks yes. BUt we don;t match up real well with them although Sori does/can hit leadoff.
  6. Can someone tell me what I need to do to get a pic? I found my profile page and then selected a pictrue from whitesox.com and it said it couldn't accept it. thanks in advacne for the help/
  7. Jesus will be moody for us if he get's traded right before his birthday.
  8. This is going to be a whine. Still, I really wish all the Maggs talk would just go away. I don't think anyone who finds total fault on either side (and many have suggested as such) know what they are talking about. It's like trying to lay the blame on one member of a marriage when there is a divorce. However, if my future wife ever gets Scott Boras I'm going into hiding.
  9. I'd give him a one-year major league deal worth 750 K plus incentives. When right, he's a terrific pitcher. I would imagine the Sox docs would get a good look at his shoulder as a prerequisite. I wonder if Shingo would be excited?
  10. One thing people forget about Javy and his g/f is that he pitched poorly this year. It amkes a lot of numbers look bad when you stink. He wasn't bad because of his g/f necessarily, but rather it was indicative of him being bad. I expect better things out of him wherever he ends up this year.
  11. Bowden is like floating above the radar like Kid Icharus on this one. I remember the good old days when someone else was like that.....
  12. He was an all-star. It's not like he's total garbage or anything. Strange things happen. Frank, Dye, or Row could all easily miss time so it's good to have a guy like Carl around I guess.
  13. The a's are hard after giles though. That 3-way trade makes a lot of sense and we all know Billy boy loves multi-team trades.
  14. Someone very well could have posted this portion from the Merkin article on mlb.com but I thought it was newsworthy "Once Dye made the verbal commitment to the White Sox on Wednesday, though, he would not change his mind. After the deal was finalized, Williams found out that one of the other interested teams started calling Dye while he was taking his physical and worked on him well into Wednesday night with offers of sweeter compensation. "There were significantly more dollars out there over the next few years," said Williams of Dye's decision. "But he told the other clubs, 'I gave my word to Kenny Williams, and I'm going to honor it.' "It's a breath of fresh air. I sat down with my own son and had the chance to expand on things such as virtue and a man's character, instead of just turning toward money."
  15. Like I mentioned, I think teams are wary of Marquis utter uncoachability.
  16. Name a team in baseball that couldn't use Steve Finley. I go to SIU so there is some pride with him there. However, I barely admit I go tehre after losing to Hawaii and Arkansas-Little Rock.
  17. That is an excellent deal for the A's. Both are big-league ready starters with good upside. Duncan/La Russa soured on Marquis for the same reason that Mazzone/Cox did, he doesn't listen. That said, he's a great talent. I think Haren will be an 18 game winner in the next few years.
  18. How about Arizona not be interested at all in Konerko? There are a lot of people that think Glaus will be playing first-base on Opening Day. This could severely limit our options.
  19. I see what you are saying but we just aren't going to get as much for Paulk when there are so many options still out there. There are a lot more #2-3 starters avaiblable via the trade market than 40 homer first-baseman. That's why I think when the right-handed power market dries up more, we will be able to get more. I cannot see the Yankees having any luck moving both Vazquez and Brown so there is always a fallback there.
  20. I'm not sure how official any of these claims really are. I know qwerty knows I've been hard after him for awhile. Perhaps a dual ownership is in order?
