  1. On TV the ball coming off Teahen's bat looked good, from the centerfield angle. Got my heart going a bit. x_x
  2. I love Hawk and Stone Pony, but its such a huuuuuge joke that they never select the best player on the team for pick-to-click. I don't have the stats, but Paulie has to be the least selected player. I would have bet my car that Teahen would be selected tonight, and of course he was. Again, I love those men, but lol.
  3. Its so LOL to take serious offense to someone using a word. Its unfathomable to me that someone could get butthurt from somebody using a word to describe someone else over the internet. Its gotten to a ridiculous point in this country (and surely others). A few years ago, a politician was forced to resign for correct use of the term 'n****rdly' in a press conference. As we all know, that word has nothing to do with race.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) Konerko is now tied with one "Harold Baines" on the all time HR list. Wonder what that guy's doing now. I think he's a coach somewhere. If memory serves, he was the Sox bench coach at some point. Great game today. I'm ready to turn my first-born over to Humber, Rumplestiltskin style, if he wants it. And for all you Jason Vargas haters out there..... SHHHHH!
  5. What I have appears to be a 13 inch claw hammer, and I feel quite certain that if I were to square one up just so I could drive it over 200 feet. I will try to get cell phone video of it.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) Try a broom handle! Theres just not enough force behind it. I honestly dont think anyone could drive one into the outfield with a broom handle.
  7. In addendum, it is very easy to hit a golfball 400+ feet. I would love to drive golfballs all over and out of US Cellular with a bat.
  8. Well, back home where the 'rents live, lies a very fine Little League complex, where i intend to do some damage when I visit in a couple weeks. There lies 7 200 ft fields, and one "all fences 300+ field". Some years ago I conquered all fields in a total of 21 pitches, and now I wish to do so with a claw hammer.
  9. I feel fairly certain that I could drive a ball out of Willaimsport with a standard claw hammer. What do you guys think? Anyone hit a ball 200+ feet with something other than a bat?
  10. I'm just throwing some names of ballplayers I haven't thought of in awhile into Wikipedia. Surprised to see that Mike Caruso just turned only 34 a couple weeks ago, and is playing independent ball in Joliet. Good times.
  11. That is most excellent. That is, the image of Hawk's boys swimming towards the Carlos Gomez egg.
  12. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) Wha? On the baseball field. Don't mean to imply any Roethlisberger type activity. (Allegedly)
  13. Lew Ford was a raper. Weird that he didn't pan out. Hawk also loves Maicer 'Babe' Izturis.
  14. How are we better without him playing? Sure, its very disappointing that we can't count on him every 5th day, but when he does play, he gives an above average performance.
  15. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) He would have to not be on the DL to do that. O rly?
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=6662208 Well, I think the guy really wants to help in whatever way he can.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) Yup. 30% chance of showers at game time, rising to 1000% by 12:00. Should the game run into extras the rain will get it, and an early delay could hurt. As long as we don't wait until the top of the 38th to put some runs on the board, I suspect we shall WIN.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 11:41 AM) So I am glad to see one person here will never complain about games we should have won. We absolutely should have won Friday, but based on my understanding of the word, we did not deserve to.
  19. IMO, nobody ever deserves to win a game they do not win. We didn't deserve to win Friday, we blew a two run lead with two outs, nobody on, 0-2 count. No way do we deserve that win. If teams were only given wins on games their fanbase thinks they deserved, overall league record would be well below .500. You'd have plenty of games where two losses were assigned. Team that scores the most deserves to win, as that is the objective.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) Dink hits, BB with bases loaded, HBPs, dropped foul ball that led to runs... Realistically, we didn't deserve that game. Oh, so the team that was outscored by 5, walked guys with the bases loaded, and dropped foul balls deserved to win. That usually makes sense.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) You kidding? My Christmas present growing up varied in quality in direct relationship to how my dad performed at the casino. I just hate losing for stuff like that. I think I wound up the opposite of my dad in that regard. That's good. Betting is negative financial expected value. I'm honestly much more upset about the Sox losing the game in that fashion than I am the bet.
  22. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) Just turn the page on this one and move on Agreed. Its an extremely s***ty loss, but let's just get em tomorrow.
  23. Very unfortunate, but I absolutely wanted to win 5-4 rather than they score one more, not to mention the 3rd and 4th. Pretty unreal, actually.
  24. HOLD, Sergio! About to be a wonderful baseball day. Sox win, DET, CLE, MIN losses.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 07:07 PM) I played a $40 parlay on the Sox and the Rangers. $40 to win $147. I don't feel confident about this Sox game at all though. That was a really sick sweat in the top of the 7th. I definitely feel good about us winning, let's just please not allow anymore runs. If we win, I'm gonna eat the best dinner I've ever had, or at least most expensive. Good call parlaying with the Rangers btw. Wish I had thought of that.
