  1. Is anyone else convinced that he is Nationals' skipper Frank Robinson?
  2. wow..... all I noticed on th Charlotte pic were blue seats... what is average attendance?
  3. A fly ball does not matter if it crosses the bag in fair territory, at all. Other wise all those slicers that go into the seats down the baseline would be fair, having passed the bag in fair territory. Its all based on whether the ball is in foul plane or fair plane. Also, it is not like football, where if a players feet and whole body is in fair territory, and the ball juggles out of his glove over foul territory is a foul ball, depending on where ball and glove made contact.
  4. Looks like I'll be going... Safeco is a great park, I went out there earlier this year on a spur of the moment deal, in hopes os seeing the once respected Palmeiro collect #3000. Well, he only got #2,999 that day. I never have any luck trying to see milestones in person. I was at Safeco for the two games Frank sat on 1,999 hits. Back in 1999, I went there the day after he hit HR 300, left they day before he hit 301. Sox are 0-6 with me at Safeco.... maybe I should stay home. I was at last year's, Koch game.... I should definitely stay home, but I won't.
  5. Theres a chance I'll be there... Problem is I live on my own now and have only $20 and no job. I'll find a way though.
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) You don't know what brews on behind the scenes. Believe me, you and I do not know the entire story. I don't see why this is a reason for hawk to lose his job. If hawk is gone. I, personally , would start a bring back hawk campaign. I would never listen to audio on tv again. When I watch a game I feel I am watching it with a good buddy when I listen to Hawk. I do not care if hawk is 100% wrong. I would never side with the devil: Jay Marrioti. Bingo. I even let DJ be my friend, too.
  7. What are Timo and Uribe doing at the top of the order? I'm answering Jeopardy style BTW, to correspond with the thread title.
  8. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb This would be so f***ing awesome. Imagine when they do the Midwest tour and playing at Comiskey. If there is one thing I could do in life, that would be it.
  9. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) Wished I woulda seen that O_O I can't even remember who Psycho was, but I think I can see why they called him that. Steve Lyons. Fox Saturday's baseball announcer.
  10. First Sox (and MLB) game I ever went to was in early August 1997 at the Kingdome. I remember that A-Rod and Edgar were ejected and Robin hit a 3 run bomb off the facade of the centerfield upper deck. Sox won 5-2 or 5-3. Only game they've won in Seattle that I've been to in 7 attempts. I was at the Koch game last year. My favorite was my first trip to Comiskey on July 2nd, 2000 when the White Sox swept the Red Sox. Frank homed, and Maggs hit two. Last year I was at the C'mon Timo game, and that day was Fuji Photo Day, it was so f***ing cool being on the field and shaking everybody's hand. The most excited I've ever been was probably the next night when Felix Diaz started against the Indians, giving up a warning track fly and two homers to the first 3 hitters. A couple innings later Broussard hit a Slam, putting us down 7-0. Then we had a six run inning, capped by Jose's 3 run shot, I don't think I've ever yelled so hard in my life. Jose secopnd homer of the night, a solo shot to make it 8-7, went off my damn finger tips and ended up with the guy across the aisle from me.
  11. "But..... Spring Training in Tuscon?" I thought that was pretty funny.
  12. The wierdest f***ing thing in the world tonight... I was kind of disappointed in the Twins losing tonight. How f***ed up. In reality, I think we'll be better off with the A's winning the division. I'd much rather face the Yanks, Red Sox, or Angels in the first round.
  13. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) I'm just happy we don't have to face Ryan Franklin. Outside of a game last September, that guy has owned us. My thoughts exactly.
  14. Anyone else freak out watching him try to catch flyballs? That one last night where he bent over and stuck an upside-down mitt straight out was ridiculous. A high popfly.....
  15. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) this is why we love hawk (or should). he's feeling the same way we are. Yeah, I'm pretty pissed that I have the O's broadcast, I would have loved to hear Hawk on this one.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) Don't know if this has been said but it looks like this breaks 6+ innings streak... I just woke up and tuned in (It's only 11:30 here), and that was the first pitch I saw. I immedeiately checked the inning and outs... 5 2/3 innings. That pisses me off, I like streaks.
  17. To me, the resemblance is all in the eyes. Even more so now that Joe's hair has grown out.
  18. I just looked at it real quick, and I was thinking that he hadn't shaved anything to go with his new sideburns... Oh well, it's funny to think of it the way I do.
  19. The way I look at it, I'm not happy he's hurt, at all. I'm just really happy he's out of the lineup for a month and a half.
  20. I'll answer your question with one of these. :fyou How's that for you?
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) :headshake That's AJ Burnett buddy... My bad. It just really looks like an unkempt Joe Crede. This makes it even more funny to me.
  22. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) YES I looked at your avatar and puked. Get real, Joe Crede. :puke EDIT: Now I can't stop laughing at the damn thing. What a horrible picture.
  23. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 23, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) 2 Outs--you don't stop running and you locate your third-base coach. That was absolutely awful baseball by Derek Lee. Since little league, you are taught to keep on running with 2 outs and watch your base coaches. I have absolutely nothing wrong with Uribe doing that and I actually applaude him as he saved us one run. If Lee wasn't faked out of his jock, he would have scored easy. I know this was not the situation, but for example: If you are at first and an infielder fields a ground ball, are you going to round the base and keep going to third... no. He should've looked to the 3rd base coach which he didn't, but if he had reason to believe that an infielder had the ball, you don't keep running just because there were two outs when the ball was struck.
  24. When the f*** did he join the Knights? How funny.
  25. On that last picture, is that THE Ricky Gutierrez?
