What was the Hawks best call of the year?
Bighurt52235 replied to soxman352000's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) The "Way Back! It's off the wall!" is the July 8th comeback game against the Angels. I was there. I think the "That'll get the job done" was from a Joe Crede SF walk-off. The July 8th comeback was Timo's 3-run single to right field. That one didn't make it to the fence. -

Thanks. I still don't remember that Angels game specifically... Was that the one where Thriller gave up an 8th inning HR to Jose Guillen? I remember coming back and winning the game, just not how it happened. I'll go watch it on MLB.tv -

Also, I don't recall, "That'll get it done" and "Way Back! Its off the wall". Can someone explain that to me please? -

I was at the C'Mon Timo game, and was busting up when I watched the highlights later that day. Of course... That play never should have happened, but Damaso blew the ninth inning lead. Oh well, perhaps it was for the best. -
QUOTE (BobDylan @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) How could you say the Twins have a better starter than the Sox? After Radke they have a bunch of number fives. Are you a giant douche, or a turd sandwich? Don't you remember who won the Cy Young Award?
-
I wonder what would have happened if it had been Detroit up by 15, would they have had to forfeit?

"If you ever want to take a trip down to Cobb County Georgia, you'll be servin' hard time"!

Reading the first post upset me, but this one literally turns my stomach. You are a closet Twins fan if there ever was one.
-
Nice job, Twins fan. The list that can me made for the Sox is alot worse than that one. If you thought about it, I'm sure you could complie it. Don't play like the Twins were a courageous team who battled through tons of adversity.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1850582 I now have no doubt in my mind why he was selected as an All-Star.

I think the Esteban we had this year would be a very good #5 starter, because he wasn't terrible, but was nowhere near last year. But, he has the potential to go out and dominate any lineup, which is very good. 3 million a year? f*** yeah, I'd do it.

That is the coolest thing ever. I can't, honest to God, think of anyother way I'd rather spend a day. How did you get that chance? Props to your pops, too.

I honestly feel that we'll sweep this next series, and win at least 7 out of 10 against KC and Cleveland. If for no other reason that the calendar simply switched from July to August.

Everett strained something in his leg running to first. He is just day to day. contreras is the Sox only addition. Twins- Mientkiewicz ended up in Boston, Twins end up with minor leaguers. Benson to Mets.

Last I heard, they can have moustaches and 'burns, but no chin or full beard.

I think if we have a tournament it has definitely got to be No Limit Texas. I think that is the most fun variation of poker.
-
Whew! That's a relief.

I haven't heard anything, so I'm just wondering what his status is.

Chip Carey, "He hits one out here he could run for mayor" First pitch DP. Go Cubs!!!

The slump started on Sunday in the 7th inning when the Tigres did all that s*** with two out, nobody on. I assume the title word was P*ssies, and I'm wondering why that must be edited. I'm not throwing out free speach s***, I just think it curious that something was edited, because this site is sometimes quite vulgar.

I would so f***ing win that poker tournament. I play tournaments with my friends a couple times a week, I love playing poker. When I play on the internet, I use Pokerstars.com It's a pretty good site.

I saw The Village tonight, thought it was pretty sweet. However, the reel got off track a few times at the theatre, and slid the picture down so far that you could actually see the microphone used in the filming at the top of the screen. It was kind of funny, but totally took the audience out of the movie for a few minutes... pisses me off. Also, I saw Napolean Dynamite. I liked it. Since Jon Heder (played Napolean) is from Salem, he was at the small independent theatre here in Salem and did a Q&A after the movie. s***! I've got to add that to my "brushes with greatness" . A woman actually asked him if the guy who played pedro "was a trained actor"! Racist b****.... Jon is Mormon, and someone asked him if everyone in the movie was Mormon. rolleyeyes.gif

What what what what would you do?

Took hitting lessons from former Giants, Rockies, Marlins, Angels catcher Steve Decker. Current hitting coach of the Fresno Grizzlies. Saw Harold Reynolds at Salem Centre Mall in January 03. Nodded to him as he was talking on a cell phone. He looked at me and knew that I knew who he was. Had an autograph turned down by Mark Cuban because I handed him a small sign that said "Go Blazers" at last year's playoff series. He turned around, than turned back and smiled. It was cool. Talked to former WWF wrestler Matt Borne (AKA Doink the Clown) on his local Portland wrestling show. Shook hands with wrestlers Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. Had my picture taken with Terry Porter and Clyde Drexler when I was young and didn't realize how cool that was. Saw former NBA player Mychal Thompson at my stepbrothers Little League game. Jerome Kersey sat behind me at a minor League baseball game when he was a member of the Sonics, I believe. Made eye contact (and smiles )with the Big Hurt when he was on his way to BP. He was at 1,999 career hits, and I made a sign that said, "Big Hurt 2000 hits!" Of course he didn't get it there. That one is my favorite.

I'm in it. I'll be at every game of the next homestand, and I really f***ing hope they have it turned around by then. I think they will. (Why am I saying "they"?) I'm hoping for some f***ing exciting and meaningful games. It has nearly got me to giggles thinking about actually going to the park, but I hope the club is going to be hot.
