New Party Area in U.S. Cellular
Never mind, I see that it is for groups only. Is there anything like that that does not require one to be in a group.

New Party Area in U.S. Cellular
How would I get tickets for this new party area, I will be at the next homestand and I would like to sit in that area for a game instead of just box seats all the time. Any information will be appreciated. Thank you.

tonight's game a sell-out
What's up with that? Must be the dome....

Who's going tonight..?
Have the Sox ever been followed around by rain this much before, EVER? I don't ever remember a year where you can count on rain on every homestand and roadtrip. Tsk tsk.

Tonight's game
It probably is 20, with a tons of walkups seeing as how it is a Pepsi half price night. I figure to see this game sold out, too.

like a professional....
That's what my local paper says, but I only remember last night's and the walf-off Grand Slam against Toronto two years ago. I believe the walk off situatuion against the Royals earlier was just a deep sac fly, and I think it was a ground rule double. Maggs hit a walkoff against KC.

Jose Valentin
I think you should say that he saw seven pitches that were out of the strikezone, because only 3 can be balls if he strikes out, naturally.

So, Who are These Guys?
One tonight and two last night...

Loaiza
He is getting ridiculous. ERA realistically has a shot of surpassing FIVE before the night is over. It is at 4.92 thru the first four innings tonight. rolleyeyes.gif

*Lock The Tigers In Our Cell*
f*** f*** f***. We better be ready to score some runs.

*Lock The Tigers In Our Cell*
Now they have more success. s***, I think Young was out at first. f***in umps are costing us runs.

*Lock The Tigers In Our Cell*
Tigers now have nearly as much offensive success as the Indians in the last series.

Kenny Williams on AM 1000
I completely agree with that, but as he is now, that is what I consider a "solid" player. If we could keep this up for a whole season, I don't think it would be a stretch to call him a star. He is certainly a future All-Star in my mind.

Olerud a big option
There is now way that we DH Olerud, he is outstanding in the field. I would like to see him on our club. But don't expect more than the occasional double, though.

Do you consider .361 a good OBP? I'm not being fesescious (sp), that is a real question. For me, it depends on what kind of production he gives. A.319 SA with 14 RBI's and 10 steals is not quality production. I'm not asking Willie to be a star, but he is not really a "solid player" either. He is decent in several aspects of this game, but doesn't excell in any parts. Aaron Rowand, for example, is a solid player, but not a star. Also, 4 hits in the last 4 games (a very small sample, anyways) is not "getting hot". Ignore the .400 avg, its only out of 10 ABs. I do like the 5 walks, though.

I'm not saying I WANT him to hit for power, I'm just saying that he doesn't bring that, at all, most leadoof hitters have the ability to go out of the yard, he doesn't. How many RBI's does he have? 14. OPS? .680! And he has only scored 40 runs. Not too special... Also, only 4 sac bunts on the year. I think the most important thing is that he has only 10 SB's in only 13 attempts, which is, I will use the word BAD, for his type of player. Who can dispute that.

I agree with Ritchie Allen 100% on Harris. Sure, he may get to first base, and every now and then, he'll get to second base on his own. He only has, I'm pretty sure, 10 swipes, not nearly as much as he should, and has absolutely no power and doesn't drive in a whole lot of runs. My 2 cents.

Anybody have extra tickets for Sunday August 8th?
I will be there for that entire homestand, but since that is Fuji Photo day, I would like to be in the lower deck. I need four tickets, but if there is two or three, that will work also. Thanks.

Likely second base, but he wouldn't have to play everyday. Willie can spell at second at CF, and pinchrun, maybe PH in the right situatuion. Uribe can spell at 2B, SS, and 3B, and PH. I think it would mostly be a platoon, though. Right now, If Willie nor Uribe is in the lineup we aren't missing too much.

Exactly what I was thinking. Oh well, I wouldn't mind seeing him here.

Maggs Back On DL
I don't have time to read this whole thread, but from the Sox press release I just read, it sounds as if Maggs is done for the year. Is this right? Someone please tell me I'm wrong.

Moronotti on Around the Horn
I don't get uptight about talk of Marrioti like others do. I don't care either way. "To each his own" quote - every person on this damn board.

Moronotti on Around the Horn
Simple solution. Some people like the Mariotti drama, I not being one of them, and others get tired of it. If Jay is mentioned in the topic title, do not go into the thread. It's easy.
