Of course, but if we lose it by one ANY game that we lost this season would have made the difference. In July, I don't think we can fret too much over those two games.
-
Nicely put. And Pasqua, the best team doesn't always in. If you want to like the better teams, go to the North Side, I believe they are better than us. but you know what :fthecubs and f*** all other 29 teams.

If in the ninth inning Joe Borchard had popped one up to right field, we would still be the same s***ty team, only we would be 1.5 back instead of 3.5 back, but all this s*** wouldn't be happening today. Alot more people would still like the team's chances, just because a guy flew out as opposed to hitting a hard groundball. We'd be the same team with the same injury challenges as we are now faced with. Is everyone really concerned with that extra 2 games. Sure it sucks, but i it that important?

We got Schoeneweis and Sullivan AFTER July 31st last year, hardly hibernation. I like Tony because he is a real fan. A real fan knows that a club can gain 4 games with 63 remaining. Why do you "like" the Sox if you are throwing the season away at this point.
-
What did you say a month ago, and a month before that, when we went to Minnesota and whipped the s*** out of them? You are a fairweather windsock.
-
I doubt you could throw 87 MPH. Why the f*** are you even hanging around?

From what I hear, Shareef is one of the nicest guys in the NBA. It didn't work out for him here last year, and I'm not sure why. He didn't play very much at all. I'd like to see him here, though, because I know that he can be an All-Star. -
Anyone else pleasantly surprised with...

I have been pleasantly surprised, he just keeps hitting. That throw he made to nail, I believe it was Guzman, today was just awesome. -
That's nice right there. When I turn 18 (less than 5 months ), I'm getting Sox tattoos, to further fortify my lifelong commitment to this organization. I have no idea why I am committed, but its too late to turn back.

Joe Nathan is absolutely incredible. In 1997, he was a starter for the local (Salem-Keizer, OR) shortseason A team. If I had known he would have become such a killer to the Sox, I would have cursed his right arm. It's kind of funny who becomes what form single A to the major leagues.

Not just Uribe, but Harris and Perez were also playing over him. Perez is the only one who contributed.

I think it all depends on the status of Frank and Maggs come playoff time, or if we make a move in the next few days. I would seriously mortgage the farm for right now. I know most disagree with that, but that is my opinion, and just be thankful I'm not the GM.

No s***. For every win in sports, there is also a loss. Why do I come to this board in times like this.... it only pisses me off more.
-
I don't mind you making predictions, its just when you start saying that s*** that hasn't happened yet is GOING to happen is what makes you look dumb, IMO.
-
Sure I get the Lol, but then this thing pops in Also, a little bit of green helps, seeing as how you can't type tone of voice.
-
They get cold for a little while and lose 3 or 4 games ina row, and people start talking firesale. Same f***ing thing.

Nice reply, let's all just click a smilie. I could have went this route with your "flyball LOL" post. : :headshake

One bad game and it's time for him to go? Chokes in the big games? So if Jose would have squeezed that popup, Jones would have been a huge choker for popping up with ducks on the pond in the 10th, huh? rolleyeyes.gif

Absolutely, I don't doubt that one bit.
-
I'm really glad all of this is so funny to you. LOL!

Also, we still lead the season series with the Twins, so what the hell. We've won 6 of 7 games in Minnesota this year, so it's ridiculous to think that they're extremely superior to us.
-
You know what, YOU're done, and are f***ing stupid. What were the Twins fans saying when we swept their ass in Minnesota a month ago. Quite possibly the same thing. It's f***ing August. Not one f***ing team doesn't play a stretch of bad baseball. The f***ing Yankees got swept by Boston at Yankee Stadium earlier this year, and they played worse than us that weekend. Next weekend, they dropped 3 of 4 in Boston. Now look at the standings. One series in July is hardly the end of the world, sure, it couldn't have gone anyworse, but it is not a stretch AT ALL for us to be in first in the next week or so, because we've got an easy schedule coming up. f***, I'm all worked up.

You know what, if everyone could hit a flyball whenever they wanted, the success rate on runners from third scoring with less than two outs would be 100% I really dubt he tried to rip a groundball right at the thirdbaseman.
-
I love Jose and am a huge supporter of his, but this has got to be the WORST game of his Sox career. I was so hoping he would hit in the 10th because he likely would have hit a HR, the way he goes. Anyways, that baserunning of his in the 7th was absolutely awful. If that doesn't happen, Uribe doesn't have a chance to get thrown out at second (at least his was a real attempt). Lastly, if Jose doesn't drop that ROUTINE popup, Jones never has the CHANCE to get the hit. Of course it was still on Shingo to get him out, but..... s*** happens!

I have no idea why Borchard (or Bro-Shard as the eSPN guys call him ) was even in the game in the ninth inning. Rowand pinch hit for Davis in the nine spot, and Borchard hit for Harris in the first spot. So send Rowand to centerfield and Burke in for Borchard in the leadoff spot. Who wouldn't rather have had (Roe-Wand.... ESPN ) in the game instead of Borchard?
