QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Reading is a primary tool in life... my bad its late, i spend nearly every wqaking hour on this site the past few days

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Well take this with a grain of salt since it's the Ny Daily News, actually that probably means it won't happen: While the Sox chose to sit Ramirez vs. the Twins last night at Fenway for unspecified reasons, Tampa Bay was nearing a deal that would ship Aubrey Huff - one of Boston's primary acquisitions in the Ramirez blockbuster - to the White Sox. what the hell would we give the red sox?
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Lets say he offers us Huff and Baez for BMac, Sweeney, Tracy, and Fields? To me, that is a bit steep. I dont think its that steep when u consider its for a shot at the World Series...also Huff is signed for one more year i believe, well he's an arbitration guy, so we wouldnt be renting a player

QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) 3-4 prospects make sense, thats what they were gonna get in the 3 team deal with BOS and NYM, as long as it isnt 4 of our top 10 prospects, it might be ok and in addition, if we only have to trade prospects, we can then still keep marte, which i think is a big piece of the bullpen

The pirates are playing now on TBS vs the Braves, check out mackowiak for yourself.....so far he is 0 for 2
-
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) not gonna happen, rangers are still in contention IMO, and that would be stupid to give up an all star player how can they be in contention still....the one thing they need is pitching, and what did they do yesterday, traded away pitching for another hitter.....granted park has been bad this yr, but at least he got innings in....the rangers are done
-
They are cub fans, what do u expect...steve stone's idea on the score was much more realistic...mram and mueller for aram, patterson, some other prospects
-
Im pissed cause he is on my fantasy team and now I'm forced to start Crede or Richard Hidalgo at DH, I'm goin with Joltin Joe.
-
What else is he gonna say, just start making up rumors.....um, yeah i think the sox will get scott rolen or some other bulls*** trade that wont ever happen

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) He is not a future hall-of-famer. No way in hell. I'm sorry but Nomar was hitting in the .100's this year. Not exactly hall of fame material. Nomar is a hall of famer when he strings together 10 more seasons like he had 99-03

Who sits there "MVP" 2 straight games, do u think Derek Lee sits 2 straight, not unless he is injured, so Ozzie dont pull this s*** again like u did last night

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) For anyone that hasn't seen the 2004 Sox highlight tape, it's on now! come on timo, come on timo. CLASSIC -
I for one would be all about trading for Griffey, but not for ARow......after Frank's latest set back.....i think we could slide griffey into the DH role....i know Crazy Carl has done a solid job this season, but when he has been much better batting right handed then he has left handed.....i could see griffey DH'ing vs righties.....vs lefties give carl the nod....when u figure most teams only have 1-2 lefties in their rotation, seems like a good move to me.....everett could also spell the of's spot as he has been doing and griffeys bat has been hot all year....i think we do this deal but for some prospects not ARow

Anyone think Rowand is almost done with the Sox?
dmbjeff replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unless the Sox are trading for Griffey AND trading Rowand in a deal for Schmidt or Burnett, it wont happen. -
Only a few teams are truly out of it right now: KC SF COL PIT TB SEA CIN 2 more weeks should let us know where everyone is and who will deal for help and who will deal for the future.....dont expect a move til the very end....FLA, TOR,TEX,etc and everyone else hovering around .500 will make their moves in 2 weeks from today i am suprised there hasnt been more deals with the teams who are truly out of it, only COL has made deals, but the rest should follow

ESPN Loser Has This To Say about the Sox
dmbjeff replied to Southside hitmen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Bill Simmons a.k.a. "The Sports Guy" shouldn't get a beating from me or any other White Sox fan. He is a Boston guy and he knows what it's like to not win a title in 80+ years. Not to mention his Page 2 articles on ESPN are clearly the best Sports/Pop Culture journalism around. If you haven't read him before, start, he is terrific. -
Could u all imagine if DJ was doing chris berman's job for the homerun derby......ill take all of berman's horrible antics anyday over dj........america would want to kill dj for all the uh-oh's and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy's

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) i see no closers those were just the starters who would make it, i didnt add relievers, but bonderman will make it, he is good, and the only worthy tiger, and he will definetly make it if i-rod dosent get voted in as a starter
-
i think what francona wanted to know was who would START the all star game, but here are a list of my all star starting pitchers buehrle garland colon bonderman clement halladay rogers mussina santana maybe one or two of these guys might not make it, but both of our guys will

QUOTE(forrestg @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) El Duque scares me every time he pitches. I heard he had some great seasons with the Yankees.. I, however didn't see him pitch very often. I did see McCarthy pitch albeit TV but he did look dominating in preseason, great against the cubs but when we played texas he gave upsome gopher balls.. I also am aware that he has given up his share of homeruns at AAA.. Remember Diaz after he pitched that one game after his return he said " I just trusted my catcher and let him call the whole game. " I believe Brandon has the stuff and Pierzinsky can bring the best out him. If El Duque does come back strong we could use a strong long reliever..o my knowledge none of our relievers have went longer than 3 innings at a stretch. I can't remember the last rookie whitesox phenom pitcher aside from Wilson Alvarez. Jason Bere in 93 was a phenomenal rookie that season, he came up and really helped seal the deal for the pitching staff. He was never the same after that, but he was a rookie who came up and performed.
