  1. Wow, Javy gives up 3 runs and people are mad with him. Just in case people are not aware, the Yankees are a good hitting ballclub, especially against RHP. If we can't score 3 runs, we don't even deserve to win. The game is not over folks.
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 05:41 PM) Oh, I thought you were saying that you didn't put him on your list. See, I just don't understand how someone could dislike him enough to choose 20 others over him. Who didn't vote for him, then? Kenny GM or Paul Konerko. Probably both unless David Wells is registered under the website.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 04:22 PM) The lineup for Tampa tonight against the Twins is awful. Their outfield of Zobrist, Gross, and Perez is as bad as I've seen in the majors this season. Hopefully Shields can shut them down. Starting wise, yes! I'm pretty sure we have put a Swisher/Wise, Owens, Dye lineup out there. Owens in the lineup is so terrible, it negates any good Swisher or Dye could provide that day. He blows.
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) Seriously? Yeah. I mean he's above average, but he's not spectacular. I like how he works fast, attacks, etc. But he doesn't K anyone and relies a ton on defense. Plus he gives up a ton of hits. When you face good hitting ballclubs, that will get you smashed. That's why as a playoff picture, he would be like #3 to me, always. He's a decent guy though and loves to have fun which is what I like. And he's not having fun in a Manny way which is always complain. In a league with superstar ego's, he's a good player with no ego.
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) I'm sure you didn't actually forget. Why do you dislike him so much that you'd choose 20 other guys before him? Actually I didn't even know there were lists being submitted or that this whole shebang was going down. If not, Frank would be top 5 for sure. I was just too young during his prime years in the mid 90's. The reason I say that is because when I actually wanted to get interested in baseball was during 94/95 because the Bulls were alright and I wanted another sport to hold it down for the summer. My father disliked baseball because of the strike, so I just followed. So I pretty much didn't really start following baseball until 2000 when the Bulls stunk. My first experience with baseball was actually going to the ballpark which was so fun, I started following baseball. At that, I didn't have the patience to watch it on TV because I didn't understand all the mechanics and such, so I thought it was boring. So as I went to more ballgames, I got the scorecard to learn and tried to keep track of the numbers and such. After going to a bunch of games in 2001, mostly on Sundays (which is why I have a fetish with the White, Red & Blue throwbacks of that year) I just loved it and started really tracking baseball. It sucked because we imploded that season. Frank got injured, David Wells trade ended up being a bust, but Buehrle came up and looked good. I really fell in love with Crede's defense though.
  6. Like Gavin, I'm the stopper. I believe I am undefeated or only have one loss after making a thread after a Sox loss.
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) Honestly, who didn't vote for him? EDIT: It was so long ago. I hope I didn't forget to mention him, although I think he was my #3. Oops...
  8. Alright pitcher. Pretty good attitude. I just hate that they don't let him slide across the tarp anymore. In my mind, I think ownership/management/media has made some aspects of this team too serious. The whole hair thing, the whole Buehrle sliding on wet tarp.
  9. Crede's Crew was the best. I wonder what happened to them? I guess ticket prices got too high and fan deck became money seats.
  10. For guys in the top 10, I expected like 10 page threads. I'm surprised Harold has received so little fan fare.
  11. JOE FOCKIN CREDE! I still love the card.
  12. Jersey Shore was hilarious. Show did lose it's luster after Carson left.
  13. Whenever I go in there, no one is there so that's why I don't usually participate.
  14. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) http://uicflames.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/...len_oney00.html I dont know, it looks like Oney was pretty solid through high school. I remember him around campus and one of my buddies used to dorm with him. He was pretty decent, but moved out of the dorms rather quickly, and I believe he left UIC after one year. A lady friend of mine told me he was going to Colombia College and turned into a crack fiend for awhile. I don't know what happened after that because that was two years ago.

Fox will probably cancel it just like they did with Reunion. Damn, I just wanted to see the end of that show.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 11:19 PM) what has happened most of the time when thorton is in a high pressure situation? And Jenks was better when throwing 100mph? Really? Cause I remember him throwing the equivalent of 1.5 perfect games throwing 95. And outside of that very nice span, he also let a ton of runners on base.
  17. I wish Jenks was given free reign to just throw 100mph and forget this control issue BS. He was much better and dominant when he was able to throw as hard as he can.
  18. Up until the very end, he was nothing but a class act and an MVP candidate. If it weren't for Boras, he still would be here.
  19. Meh, not one of my favorites, but I'm shocked he wasn't in the top 5.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 10:32 AM) I loved the episode, but I didn't get annoyed and laugh as much as I did during the RNC. Wanna hear a joke? National Conventions This was just a joke. I respect all parties and I'm American myself. I just want to stop this thread from talking about politics and swaying away from the greatness that is Entourage.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 04:04 PM) I don't understand that comparison at all. I mean that it wouldn't suprise me if they won it all again that year considering their offense was awesome top to bottom, but their pitching wasn't all that great, especially after Clement got hit. Then they also dealt with ailing injuries like Schilling. I wouldn't be surprised if we won it all, but not shocked if we lost in the first round via sweep. Our offense is great, pitching is a question mark.

The fish thing was hilarious. It was a pretty great episode. Especially the part inside the car where Ari was like, "Is that all you guys do?...Wait?" and Turtle turns on the tv inside the car.
  23. Tampa is by far the strongest IMO. They are a lot like us in '05. We're a lot like Boston in '05.
  24. Isn't he an OF? If that's the case, I think that's just way too many.
  25. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) I'd say behind the first three, but he is the #1 defensive replacement. IMO, he still has a very valuable role. Plus, Owens and Wise can't hit lefties and BA is a power hitter against them. And really Swisher/Griffey suck against lefties, too. It makes no sense to have 6 OFers. Wise is definitely still going to play as they'll use him as the #1 pinch runner. Owens is going to be the #4 OF because Ozzie's dumb enough to use a AA player who sucks over a pretty decent choice in BA. Then there is Dye, Griffey, and Swisher.
