QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) I don't like this deal... and no not just because i'm president of the AROW fan club... This team won on pitching and defense... We have the best defensive CF in the game right now... Not only that even if he bats .280 next year he'd hardly be the worse CF out there considering his supurb defense.. It's amazing to me that so many people are willing to give up on a guy who has never hit lower then .270 at the major league level but are now ready to give Joe Crede a 10 year deal because he hit .300 in the playoffs... Plus I don't even want to hear about Brian Anderson's high ceiling... How many years did we hear the same thing about Joe Borchard... The fact is that championship teams can't afford to trade key proven players for maybe's and could be's... If Brian Anderson is so great then trade him... He didn't exactly tear it up when he got the chance this september by the way.. Um Mark Kotsay is the best CF in the game without a doubt.

I don't think Rowand would be traded in a deal for Delgado if Pierre is dealt to the Cubs. Why? Because FLA wants Pie if for Pierre from the Cubs.

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) all the guys like you complain about EA fans that will loyally buy anything EA comes out with. Aren't you doing the exact same thing? you will loyally not buy anything that EA comes out with. This is why the sports videogame market has taken a downward turn. If both sides of the line stopped caring about brands and started caring about content, we'd have alot better games out. Exactly.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) MVP baseball sucks end of story... People cream their pants because it has EA on the label... Even though it has worse graphics and crappier features then every other game on the market... But the guillible people will buy it because of the name on the front... It's so sad that those crappy Madden games are the only options out there for football.... because i'm stuck with 2k5 till that license runs out... EA SUCKS!!!! BOYCOTT EA!!! Wow. Worst post ever. MVP undoubtedly has been the best baseball game out for the past 3 years. Not because EA made it, but because of the engine they use. Everything flows smoothly and it feels like a real baseball game. It's not even close when it came to MVP and the next best baseball game. I really don't care about who makes games, I just care about quality. EA has made the best quality baseball games without a doubt.

Buehrle. And it will always be Buehrle unless he's injured or he's gone. BTW, I personally would like to see it be Count.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) That might be their angle.. but not the angle of any self-respecting White Sox fan. IIRC, MLB makes and produces the video, so they might just play that angle. -
If UIC isn't in the game, I'm going to be pissed.

Well as long as KW has Delgado and Thome as backup plans, I'm fine with what we do. Ross Gload should be nothing more than a UTIL player.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Please choose the most correct answer: Is Bill Clinton A. The most awesomest President since FDR B. The victim of a vast rightwing conspiracy C. The third anti-Christ D. Husband of the 42nd President E. Positively dreamy All of the above!

Thanks for the advice once again Tex.

Yeah, St. Clair sucked with the Rams big time.

Intro to ThermoDynamics. Statics and Fortran Programming for Engineers are being taken this semester. I also took Intro to Engineering in my first semester.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) As a freshman, have you even taken a ME course yet? Yeah I have. I'm a Freshmen by 2 credit hours and that's because I withdrew from a class last year. That's a long story short. And I plan on staying in Chicago. That's my preference.

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) ok, as far as i know, UIC's specialty is their business school.....just something to be considered. I'm strongly leaning towards business right now. That just helps sway my decision in that corner. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) What don't you like about ME? I ask because I'm graduating with a degree in that this semester. Well I don't have the passion for it. For a major like that(or any practical major) you have to have a passion for it, else you won't get through school and if you do, you'll end up hating your job. If I hate my job, I can't perform up to my highest level. I mean, I'm part of the future of our country, I'd hate to be somebody who doesn't give 100% in what I'm contributing to this world. QUOTE(heavyduty @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) Sport Administration/Management PROS: You get to talk about sports during your classes You are entering a field in which you know you are passionate about To be honest, it's relatively easy CONS: Hard to find work right out of school Starting pay isn't very much That was a thought of mine, but UIC doesn't have a Sports Management Program as far as I know. Thanks for your replies.

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) I'm an economics major right now, with a concentration on the business side. My school offers a whole bunch of different econ concentrations. Pros -employable -if you like numbers, but not too much ridiculous math -its economics, it's practical and can be interesting if taught right. Cons -not everyone's cup of tea .... what school do you go to nite? University of Illinois - Chicago

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Oh I get it. This is so you can blame all of us when your career as a clown goes bellyup after Steff recommends clown school and you are watching all of your mechanical engineering buddies making money hand over fist. real nice, nite QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) Business: PROS: You're actually employable when you finish. Good money Challenging work environment CONS: Crowded field ( not nearly as bad as lawyers though ) Long hours Having to play politics to get ahead. Excellent. That's one of the fields I'm seriously considering. Keep them coming guys.
-
Okay, so as many of you know, I'm in college. I am currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a freshmen(sophmore after this semester), but I seriously want to change my major. How can you help? Simple. State a major which you like or pick something you majored in and give 3 pros and cons of each. Don't worry about me having to take classes all over again. Everyone is welcome to help.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) Maggs would more than likely come through in that situation while Konerko popped out to short. Exactly. As much as I think Maggs is an a-hole for doing what he did, when healthy, he's tons better than PK.

For me it's a different want and passion. Both are equal, but are different. I want them to repeat as badly as I wanted them to win the first one.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) If by very cheap you mean the most expensive pitcher we have on the team, and as of now the highest salary per year we have on the team. He's good, but he will probably be our 3rd or possibly our 4th best starter next season. I wouldn't be at all opposed to trading him but that's never going to happen. Market value wise, he's a proven pitcher who would've gotten tons more on the open market this past offseason. And again, we have no replacement for him. No way I trade him.

Okay, back to the topic. There's a couple things. 1)It's safe to buy a cell phone off of ebay if you buy the right one. 2)You're going to need a phone that's unlocked, uses Sim cards(only T-Mobile and Cingular use Sim Cards in the U.S.) and use the same band as Cingular. If you want more help, go to howardforums.com

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) To be honest, out of all of our starters not named Duque if I were to trade from the big 4, Garcia would be the guy as well. I'd do a Tex for Garcia trade, assuming the Sox would go out and sign themselves another starter to replace him. Neh. I wouldn't trade any of the big four right now. Especially not Garcia. He's very cheap and pretty damn good. Plus, we have no one to replace him in the rotation.

If you could choose one player for 2006...

Thome Delgado Helton Konerko Giles -
Yeah, I like Doug, but I also think he's on the decline of his career.

Many questions to be answered: If there is a war between Venezuela and the U.S., does Ozzie stay as manager of the White Sox and does Freddy stay? If Chavez is assasinated, does Ozzie automatically become front runner for President of Venezuela? I mean, he did just win a World Series. Does Freddy become his right hand man? Lots of important questions remain to be answered.
