Jonny Damon to wear White Sox?
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Damon is a good player, but the Sox have there top of the order and while I think Damon is better than a lot of you guys give him credit to be (since everyone seems dead set against him). I think the Sox have bigger needs (ie, the middle of the lineup and #1 resigning Paulie and #2 finding a productive DH). My thoughts exactly. And let's not throw that whole cancer crap around as I've seen for Damon and Manny. Wasn't AJ a supposed cancer? How about Everett? What the hell happened? That said, I'd pass for the reason Chisoxfn gave. We have bigger needs than another leadoff hitter.

so, does anybody have that intro video now
QUOTE(Lefty Of Love @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Hopefully they don't change a thing from that next year, just add tons of highlights from this year. I went to 20 somethin games this year and I got goosebumps every time they played that and then transitioned to the roster w/Thunderstruck playing. The best part is Fisk tagging out 2 at the plate....any trivia buffs want to research how many catchers recorded 2 put-outs in one play in history? I bet it is quite rare. Yeah, I love the intro. Gives me goosebumps too.

My idea for next season's team
I think Kenny will do what I would do. Be proactive but not make a move just to make a move. Our starting pitching is still intact and not falling apart(like those 2003 Angels) and is proven for the most part minus Garland(who hasn't proved that this was a fluke season which I don't think it was). Don't make a move just to make a move.

SNL Tonight
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) That's awesome that there's a mention of a Sox DVD. I can't wait for that! Every team gets a DVD each year. This one is going to be truly badass though. I already ordered one through mlb.com. Unless you're talking about another DVD.

QUOTE(R.J. @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) The first 2 or 2 1/2 minutes is a song called "Elk Hunt" from the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack. Here's a rapidshare download if anyone is interested: http://rapidshare.de/files/6924851/Classic...k_Hunt.mp3.html Thanks.

Anyone know what's the title of it specifically?

The Evolution Of Joe Crede
I think he came full circle. He's using the swing that helped him get to the big leagues. They tried to tinker with it and in a few seasons, he found himself lost. Now with his basic swing again, he's good. I see him batting .280 with 25HR's and a couple of GG before it's all said and done.

Does anyone at least know the song that plays during that intro? Very badass. Just like the Hawks entrance a couple of years ago(I don't know about now since I have yet to see them). I would download the video off of their server, but they're using macromedia.

Parade overview
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Where were you watching the percession? I was standing near the bus stop right outside the BSB. There was some kid wearing a Cubs hat starting s*** a few people over from where I was standing. f***ing jealous Cub fan. Yeah, that's the kid I was talking about. I was in between Commons West and BSB(right by the walkway that's there. I saw the Cubs fan and the old man was f***ing around with him. I thought he should've whooped his ass for wearing a Cubs hat, jacket and a towel.

Hate to start an attendence thread...
Forget that, how will the crowd react to the ring ceremony and the World Series Flag being raised?

Rumor: AL Playoff OF tests positive for steroids
f***, why'd this have to happen??

Resign Carl Everett
I would bring him back at a discounted rate. People underestimate his clubhouse presence. Our guys love him. If he wants to come back and is willing to take a pay cut, he would be a great power bat off the bench.

My letter to Fox...
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) writing a professional letter and using the words "boobs" and "pissed" will usually hurt your credibility. Just a thought.... I was about to say the same. WE WON THE WORLD FRIGGIN SERIES just a couple of days ago. Celebrate damnit.

Let's talk next year
Keep the Fantastic 4.(or Group 4 if you prefer). I honestly think you have to keep this whole team. There's no way you could significantly increase this team unless someone offers you Manny for your worst prospect. Anyway, Wilbon just gave the White Sox 33.333% of repeating next year. He said because we're so deep at pitching and we're keeping it for next year. Anyway, I think if we also somehow keep Frank and PK, that will be our big offseason acquisition. We'll have consistant power added to our lineup.

OMG, it's finally starting to sink in........
Anyone have the video that WGN was showing? I want to see the season in review they had. Looked bad ass.

Parade overview
A+++++++ experience. Me and other UIC students lined up on Harrison and went nuts. Then after they passed, almost everyone bumrushed the blue line so we could meet them at LaSalle. Greatest party ever. There was this one prick wearing nothing but Cubs garb though and taunting everyone.

Hate to start an attendence thread...
I'd say it's very possible. I don't buy the whole college excuse. Tons of college kids go to parties and Cub games. Chicago has U of C, UIC, Depaul, Northwestern and Loyola. And before you argue that those places are too far. For college kids, no they're not. College kids usually are parting by 7pm when there isn't anything else to do. I say the ones that were going to Cub games will now be going to Sox games. Tickets will be harder to get by and the lines will be a little bit longer, but I don't care. I got to witness a World Series Championship.

Reinsdorf deserves love
Greatest owner ever. He is definately a Chicago guy. Works hard, takes s***, but keeps on chugging. When he cried today, I got teary eyed because it showed me that he really really wanted this. He wasn't just about the bottom line like so many people would like to claim.

The Season is Officially Over!
The White Sox are always referred to as a team. After seeing the parade today and the attitudes of everyone, I disagree. The 2005 Chicago White Sox were not a team, but a family playing baseball. This White Sox team strikes me as a group that will always be friends with each other no matter what. They set Chicago ablaze. 2005 White Sox World Series Rally = Greatest city party I've ever attended.

Top 10 games of Regular season
AJ's walkoff has to be in there. That's the moment when people started believing. Also Crede's walkoff against Cleveland.

Paulie pulling a Mientkiewicz?
Lol, ESPN just had a thing on it. Funny stuff. Go to ESPN.com. They have a poll on where you think the ball is.

Sportscenter Report
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) The one that makes me go f***ers...is Tim K report when he says " Destany ends in NY but now come to Chicago.. Always have to add the Yankee factor in their.. Here my thing.. I want to see Steinbriner face with the Sox winning it all! No he was saying it in a good way. He said, "They say destiny ends in New York, but now it ends in Chicago."

One small perk
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Don't forget the winner of the ASG gets home field... do you want game one back at US Cellular next year? HELL YEA! Nope. I actually want to celebrate the World Series win at home this year.
