  1. I'm pretty sure they were scouting someone from the Cub's. Someone pulled the trigger on this thread to quick. Crede is going to be at 3B(unless injury occurs) all season long. Get used to it fellas.
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) Yes, more versatile. He can play left and first while konerko can just play first. That seems like two to one to me. Also, he is not slower than konerko. He hits for a higher average along with a higher ops ( career wise). Millar's career ops is 121 while konerko's is only 111. Millar we also be significantly cheaper than konerko.
  3. I would think about JT Snow, Millar and Durazo. Durazo would be third on my list.
  4. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ May 23, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Are there any decent 1B replacement options in FA this year? Does someone have a list of guys? I agree that we shouldn't pay Konerko a ton of money, but I also don't want to see Ross Gload or some other in-house schmuck replacing him (unless Fields develops faster than expected). It looks like it would be pretty tough to get one in a trade: the only ones that come to mind are Overbay and Huff, who will cost a ton, and hot prospects like Adrian Gonzalez and Ryan Howard that are much less of a sure thing. Paul is probably the best FA out there. The rest are even bigger scrubs.
  5. Well the Cubs changed their uni's a couple of times. Ken Rosenthal said that if the White Sox win the World Series, he thinks the balance of power will shift to us. Only if he really knew.
  6. QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 23, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) what r u f***in joking? PK has driven in runs at all the right times I don't count against the Cubs the right time. That guy has been s***ty. PK = the definition of a s***ty one dimensional player.
  7. He's still better than PK.
  8. Put Todd Jones in there. 6 saves, 1.36 ERA
  9. For me: White Sox Mariners Reds Marlins
  10. I would put in Paul. I would also leave out Bmac and Arow. Teixeria and Blalock are ten times the hitter Rowand is. I simply leave him out of the trade because you don't get an OFer out of this trade and Everett would be more expensive than Rowand. I see Rowand as a .290/25/90 type guy lifetime.
  11. Well Reynolds was a 4 time gold glover and an all-star(then again, that was when the M's weren't good).
  12. I saw it and agree with Kruky. You listen to your thirdbase coach. He isn't a hood ornament. What's the hurt in running it out? Nothing. What's the hurt in listening to a middle infielder? Well you saw it on Sunday. It's a fake out. I would've done it. Willie Harris and Juan Uribe did the same thing last year when they faked a double play turned against the flubs. Anyone remember what I'm talking about? I think it was the game Felix Diaz pitched. I heard no public outcry about this. Also Peter Gammons said that a lot of teams probably will try doing it now that Uribe was successful with it.
  13. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ May 23, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) One bad exRed reliever per team - we had Scott Sullivan, no more please. Um, was it just me or did Scott Sullivan do pretty damn good?
  14. I'll say Nate McMillan ends up with CLE.
  15. Boy was I wrong. So far: Philly - Cheeks Orlando - Hill
  16. Bout time. I think they need one more corner though. I heard they might bring back McQuarters for cheaper money.
  17. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 23, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) Just admit you made the wrong choice and move on. Sometimes this guy is a mental midget and then after the game he just can't admit that he flat out blew it with a dumb decision. In this case, he put in Vizcaino, who we all knew would piss the bed. Hell I called it in the chat the minute they brought him in. B-Mac coulda finished the inning, bottom line. Hopefully our manager learns to admit his mistakes in the future, otherwise he is going to have a catastrophic blowup at some point when the team isn't doing so well. I agree. It was a bigtime mistake and almost everyone knew the lead was going to be blown as soon as we saw Viz and Cotts warm up. We all wanted to know what the hell Ozzie was doing. Yeah, he does it all the time. He micromanages way too damn much. The guy let a man on in the 5th and only gave up 4 hits with 1 run. Let him at least finish the inning. Especially after the guy was on 6 days rest. I think Ozzie is just too bigheaded to admit a mistake. Admit you made a mistake and move on Oz, more people would like you if you did that. I support him on most of the other stuff, not this though. When a Cubs fan says, "What the hell is Ozzie doing" on one of their own message boards, you know he's wrong. -Also- This just occured to me. It seems as if Ozzie handled McCarthy like Jerry Manuel handled Jon Garland. A man on first, you're getting pulled.
  18. Who would be out there for us to replace him with though. I'm all for replacing him as I think he has way too many slumps for a guy who's supposed to be a offensive leader in the middle of our lineup. Let's trade him for Pujols and Mulder
  19. If I'm the Sox, I would go after him. Try to send down Cotts so he could get stretched out and work on things. Graves as our worst reliever wouldn't be that bad. I wouldn't have him close or anything like that. But I think the Sox could work on him. If anything, he'd be an asset.
  20. Take out Rowand(I know they want to keep BMac and you have to pay to get something back) and put in Chris Young or Ryan Sweeney instead. I don't like Rowand that much, but he's our starting CFer and he's really solid. He also is a fan favorite. He's one of those guys I don't expect to ever hit 40 HR's or get 110RBI's, but he's one of those guys you need. He's too much of a staple already on this team.
  21. Also, I hear Eric Milton could be the next to go from Cincy. Now, I don't want him as a starter, but what about as a long relief? He has to be better than Cotts or Walker. And the way I see things, I know Hermanson isn't going to keep this streak alive. I think he would be a lights out setup man. Right now the Sox only have one light's out bullpen arm and the rest could be that, but for whatever reason, they haven't. Damaso continues not to want to follow through on pitches. Shingo won't throw his changeup over the plate. Politte is more of a second setup guy(best middle reliever). I think this team needs one more bullpen arm and it has to be lights out.
  22. Give me Lidge. He's cheap and he wouldn't cost that much as people think. He probably would cost a Sweeney or Chris Young and Felix Diaz. I'd make that deal in a heartbeat. He definately wouldn't cost a BMAC and remember that the Sox have depth at OF in the minors. For Lidge I would do it.
  23. Guarentee anyone here that BMAC goes down to the minor once Duque gets back unless there's another injury or someone does piss poor in the starting rotation. The Sox want him to be a starter. They want him stretched out for whenever they need him to start. I'll bet my membership on that.
  24. That's how I honestly felt about him. He's a good player(JJ Reddick isn't a bad player at all) but there's better out there. I don't see anyone ranking Scheyer ranked #1 in his class/position or anything like that. There's better out there, but he is a blue-chipper at what he does.
  25. Frasor was a beast in middle school from what I hear. I've only seen him play in high school(went to Brother Rice for two years; his freshman year I was a sophmore). He has a more complete game IMO than Scheyer. I think Scheyer will end up being the better college player.
