  1. QUOTE(AirScott @ May 28, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) in the 5 games since the Cubs series, Konerko is hitting .315 with 2 HR and 4 RBI (he has struck out once in each game). you're right about Dye though. Not a consistant .300. PK has been a guy who will do great for one game and suck ass the next. He's also very much like Willie(at least prior to this year) as in he doesn't get meaningful hits. He'll hit a HR after we're up by 4 runs and we really don't need anymore runs.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) I can't imagine what HS life woulda been like without there being girls at the school with me. Surrounded by other guys for like 7 hours a day? f*** that. Tons of fun. You meet girls outside of school unless you are a loser and depend on school to help you meet someone(which you shouldn't, but that's a whole 'nother story). I went to both an all boys school(Freshman & Sophmore year) and a co-ed school(Junior and Senior year) and while both had pros and cons, I felt as if going to an all boys school was much funner. There was more stuff you got away with. There would be alot more fights because guys didn't find themselves having to be gentleman in front of girls and you could say what you want to say without having to worry about a girl hearing you. Overall, it's just a much funner atmosphere IMO. That's me though. I met girls out of school simply because if you try to date girls you go to the same school with, there is too much drama.
  3. The NHL just should've sold it for 4 billion while they still had a chance.
  4. Probably because he doesn't have protection in the lineup. I would take a good look at him. Anyone know his contract situation?
  5. I agree with so what that we are 33-16. When you keep on losing, pretty soon it's going to be, "we're still a .500 team". Our hitting has been atrocious. We should be swining the bats much better than this. Walker does need to be canned and they need to bring back Hriniak. This pull baseball is crap. No one and I mean no one with the exception of Pods and Iguchi has swung a good bat this year for the whole year. PK has been crap. People need to stop defending him. Let's face it, he got up for the Cubs series and went back into his slumber. Dye at least was rising for 3 weeks slowly and hit his peak against the Cubs and then he went back to his slumber.
  6. Hawkins has left Cubdom, that means he'll automatically become the sickest setup man in the league again. I have confidence that he'll go back to being a great closer. Jerome Williams is probably insurance for the Cubs since a starting pitcher is always injured.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 27, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) Last year's offense before Maggs and Frank went down maybe. Not the feast or famine garbage we saw after that. Guys need to be benched and Walker needs to be on the hot seat. This is not our 1st year with a wierd, underachieving offense. Well of course not. I think what you see from PK is the real PK when he doesn't have massive protection in the lineup. If Frank isn't in there, and Carl isn't hitting in back of him, PK is screwed. Like I've said since 2003, Paul Konerko cannot carry an offense. He's best suited when he's the #3 power hitter on the team. He is useless otherwise. I don't like Gload that much at all, but hell, bring him on. Even with the injury.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:04 AM) A great team...?? Uhhh, no. A great set of pitchers... yes. What do we need.....? Oh.. how about 6 guys that can hit the ball instead of wetting themselves at the plate. This pitching staff with last year's offense would've won the division by a large margin. The only reason and I mean only reason we're winning is because of pitching. This offense minus Pods and Gooch is a dissapointment
  9. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Will there be subtitles? "Wad ju' talkin' 'bout mang?"
  10. QUOTE(TheDybber @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) No, I just left them out because he DID bring 6 championships, but he also had the laughingstock of the league for 5-6 years. So, it evened out. I don't think he was a laughing stock with the Bulls for more than 3 or 4 years(depends on when he acquired them). Then they got Jordan in 84 and they've made the playoffs for 14 straight years. 6 bad years isn't enough to even that out. And they made the playoffs again this year.
  11. Da Bulls automatically put JR in front. Plus him giving back to the community. Sox/Bulls Training facility. The ballparks he's made(Mt Greenwood is one) and renovating basketball courts around the city. JR is definately the best. Trib - Believe in "Charity starts and ends in la casa" Bears - "What? You're supposed to spend money to win? Naaaaah"
  12. I am. I mean I traded away all the current players except BMac and Crede and turned the White Sox into the Yankees. 13 straight World Series titles, I don't see Schueler or K-Dub repeating that. Anyway, out of those two, KW all the way. He's not afraid to pull the trigger on trades and he actually gets name players. I also agree with whoever said, KW would've signed Rocket when he wanted to sign with the White Sox, Schueler rejected him saying he was too old. Plus BMac was a KW choice. KW all the way, all day, everyday.
  13. *signs up everyone who mentioned crede to Crede's Crew* muhahahahahaha
  14. I've sat in a lot of upper decks, and the Cell is one of the best I sat in. It seems steep, but it really isn't as steep as you think. The steepness gives it a great view of the field. You could probably see the most out of our upper deck than you could see in any other stadium. I say the upper deck at orchestra hall is more steep. I love every aspect of the Cell. F the Green Seats.
  15. I think Maria closed down. At least I heard they were and that all the students that were going there would be transferred to De La Salle(that's alot of girls since Lourdes High School shut down and the girls were also transferred to De La Salle). Anyway, yeah, I understand the punishment. I probably would've done the same thing. Ask Kornheiser and Wilbon say, "Prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law"
  16. He's only arbitration eligible in the offseason. Sox probably won't even go to arbitration with him and sign him to a 3 year deal.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ May 26, 2005 -> 07:57 AM) In the past there's been a need to do so, and that's a stretch of an explination at best - and a "pattern" is hardly what I would call throwing s*** at the wall and hoping it sticks . There's no reason Brandon should be in the pen. None what-so-ever. To put him there would be complete stupidity. Music to my ears.
  18. Marte looked dominate yesterday. He looked like the old Damaso. I was happy to see it. Hopefully that one shows up for the rest of the season.
  19. The WidgeNator... ...not even the cops can stop him
  20. Well Brewers are 2nd place in their division(this late in the season is an achievement for them) and .500
  21. http://minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/st...milb&pid=435221 McCarthy a 4.32 ERA and 3-4 for Charlotte. And Garland at least dealed in his last year in the minors. Look at what Garland did in his last two years in the minors. Especially his last year. He figured out the minor league game. It was time to bring him up.
