Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Note to Walker: Win or try dying. In that case, he's going back to Charlotte in a hearse.

Maybe the White Sox will bring up Bobby Jenks for Walker now. I thought they should've done that in the first place if they were going to bring up Walker. I don't like that guy one bit. If only his name was Tyler and not Kevin.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) Are you f***ing serious? He pulled a Mike Jackson tonight. I don't know about that. Mike Jackson at least looked good for a part of the season last year. I haven't seen it from Viz. Damn, and to think he would've been MIL's closer.

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) No one gives a hit about the attendance. We care about W's. And this is a problem. No excuses can be made and we're still in first place having our best season in years and not even 20,000 at a game on a beautiful night? Poor, poor, poor.

BTW, attendace was piss poor for a Wednesday Night Game in June. And save the school thing, because I just barely started school today again and it doesn't take out much time from your schedule. I know today was the last day for many private high schools and most people are in summer break in college(I'm personally taking summer classes). Even Jesse White spoke on this on Chicago Tribune Live how it's amazing that White Sox don't show up to games even though they are much farther ahead than the Cubs. Where's the support at home???

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) WHo should have gone? I hated Walker going too but. Marte, Cotts, Politte have all been worked. Hermanson can't go in the 7th. Viz sucks. Marte hasn't thrown many pitches at all the past 3 games. I also thought the reason we brought in Hermy was to be a setup/long relief guy. He should be able to pitch more than 1 inning. That's just my opinion. I see where you're coming from though.

Went to the game. Sick to my stomach. Again again and again, Ozzie doesn't know jack about the bullpen or pitching. He's turning into Dusty Baker when it comes to that. And to bring in Luis Vizcaino or Kevin Walker is ludicrous and should never be done in a tight game. Maybe he should just be a bench coach because he's a great motivator and keeps the team loose. In fact I think he did a better job last year of managing. 7 runs should win you the game.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) Protection is vastly overated in my opinion. Yet it's the difference between PK being a great offensive player and a mediocre 1 dimensional offensive player. Main ingredient of PK's success has been protection.

Remember, Chavez doesn't have any type of protection in his lineup. That's a big reason why his numbers are down.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) So even though Harris' minor league numbers are very good and he was 3 for 9 with 1 HR and 3 RBI's with the Nationals, just because he was demoted so they could bring up Wil Cordero, Harris sucks? I refuse to believe anyone could be that stupid. All I will say is that a 25 year old(or about to be 25 if you want to get so damn technical) who gets demoted for Wil Cordero is not a hot prospect. Then again, that .952 Fielding % looks damn impressive.

Ya shoulda seen the pics in FHM.

Aubrey Huff
Huff would probably cost as much because of how low he's making. I also think that his best positions are 1B and OF. If the Sox could get him though, I would welcome it.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) I doubt that the Nationals make any signficant move while there are a few bidders willing to offer over $300 million for a team that was bought at less than $200 million. As for all the why would the Rangers trade Blalock, its because they need pitching and most of the trades that are being suggested include B-Mac. The Rangers have a ton of hitting prospects, and Tex who can play 3b as well, so if they get an offer with a lot of pitching they may be willing to trade 1 of their hitters. I think the most likely candidates to become available are Hinske or Hillenbrand, as Toronto is starting a rookie 3b, and will have Koskie coming back from injury. When he does they will have an odd man out. SB I think either one would be an upgrade currently. Anyone know how their defense is?

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) PK gets by too much on what he's done in the past. The guy could hit .100 and no one would seem to notice, he would still be cherished. Exactly why that Paulie chant should stop at the Cell until he learns to be more than a GDP/Popout hitter who occasionally gets a HR. I say if AJ batted in his spot, he would be within 5 of RBI's of what PK has now.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) Brendan Harris was never a Mariner. By the way, he has done awesome in the minors... http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/brendan_harris.shtml And just because he was a 5th round pick means he can't be good? Buehrle was a 38th round pick. Must've gotten him mixed up with the other Chicago Cub reject named Brendan Harris who was traded to Seattle. Still doesn't change that fact that he was a throw in in that deal and is a 25 year old who just got demoted for Wil Cordero. Still a hell of a prospect there

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) I would like to see PK sit down for like 4 months. I'm so sick of that guy, he is an automatic out and looks lost up at the dish. Ozzie always says about Frank that he plays if he hits and doesn't play if he doesn't hit. Why is the same system not employed with PK? According to some people that's wrong. That can't happen. It would be an absolute joke. I'm right there with you though. I just have PK in there for now until Gload comes back.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) I don't think Nitetrain knows that the Nationals have 3rd baseman prospect Brendan Harris, whom they got in the Orlando Cabrera trade of last season, waiting in the wings. :rolly Yeah, because a guy who was drafted by the Cubs in the 5th round, then traded to the Mariners, then given back, and then traded again and is a 25 year old who just got demoted back to AAA for Wil Cordero is truly a prospect. What a hell of a prospect there.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Konerko batting 7th? Do you just go around trying to annoy the hell out of me? The question asked what I would like my lineup to be so I gave it. Give your own lineup and move on. Stop quoting me in every single post to try to mock me and get your little kick out of it. I didn't see anywhere in the thread title saying, "What would you like your lineup to be and annoy the hell out of the poster you don't agree with." Maybe that's hidden.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) I dont even understand the comparison between Castilla and Chavez, if it was the early 90's I would understand, but as it is, Chavez is not only better offensively and defensively, but he has a larger upside.
