SOX All-Stars
QUOTE(Sirotka33 @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) The international vote will give Iguchi a big push... Yea, but Soriano has the American and Latin vote. Just the way it is. Soriano will get voted in and Francona will oversee Iguchi unless Roberts slows down drastically.

Tim Kurkjian's underachievers...
I don't see Aaron coming on at all. Is he better than PK and Dye right now? Yes. He definately isn't better than Everett right now. He doesn't deserve the 3-4-5 spot.

SOX All-Stars
I say Garland, Hernandez and Iguchi(though I could see why he isn't picked) so replace him with Everett if he gets his average a little more up.

Shingo>>>Hawkins
Mostly cas of Cubs fans probably. Closing though, I would trust Shingo more. Setup, I trust LaTroy way more and I trust LaTroy setting up over Shingo closing.

Rotation for the Cub Series
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 13, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) Don't recall if he played a big role in those games, but we don't have the Carlos Lee factor any more. I still think we can take 2 at Wrigley. He played big roles against the Cubs in every game. Hopefully, PK could show why he starts at first base against us and starts hitting for once this season.

Tim Kurkjian's underachievers...
QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Uhh you say "I'd never play those 3 together until they all get hot", but then you turn around and put them in the 7, 8, and 9 positions, creating probably the wettest dream for any pitcher out there. The bottom-of-the-order black hole. I say: LF-Podsednik 2B-Iguchi 1B-Konerko DH-Everett SS-Uribe C-Piersynski 3B-Crede CF-Rowand RF-Dye Speed at the top, Pauly in the 3, Everett cleanup with protection by Uribe. I'd prefer Crede to be a bit better with the bat in the 7 but I want him after AJ. I meant that's where they would bat while they're in the lineup. Leave their subs in that spot too. Sorry, I didn't break it down enough for you. PK can't bat third because he grounds into way too many DP's. I think he led the league last year. 3 is too high for him. His batting average doesn't warrant it either. He's getting his RBI in bunches(just like our offense for the past couple of years). Anyway, stop with the Rowand at 3rd. He clearly isn't good enough(not talking about only you in particular) right now. I don't give a damn if he's a nice guy or he signed your t-shirt at Soxfest. Put him were his #'s say he should be. That's at the bottom of the order.

Rotation for the Cub Series
Any chance of one of our guys hitting a line drive to Zambrano's nuts, so we could actually give him a reason to jerk off in public???

Broadcaster Change for Cub-Sox Games
Thank God. Great News!!!!!!!!

Tim Kurkjian's underachievers...
Um why is Rowand exempt and people want him to bat in the 3 slot??? The guy has been major suckitude on offense just like PK and Dye. He should be moved down too. I say make it: LF-Podsednik 2B-Iguchi DH-Everett C-Piersynski(I don't give a damn about HR's, I'm just trying to get the runner over) SS-Uribe 3B-Crede 1B-Konerko RF-Dye CF-Rowand Shake PK, Arow and Dye up. It lets them know that if they don't perform, they'll slip off the list. Heck, I'd never play those 3 together until they all get hot. One day I might bench Dye or ARow for Ozuna and Timo.

5/13/05 Game Thread - Sox's vs O's Part 2
Buehrle will set the tone. No doubt. As long as Buehrle's up there shortly, it don't matter to me. Just means Rodrigo is going to give me more time to get concessions and go to the potty.

Buehrle story on ESPN...
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Agreed, but just try to tell that to a Cubs fan who says wins for a starting pitcher don't matter. We all know Matt Karchner has a chance to make it for the Cubbies. He's awesome!!! He was also always better than Garland.

Putting this Trade Shingo talk to rest.
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) Talking about different circumstances since shingo does not have one. I thought you were talking about Contreras not having one.

Preston Wilson
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) Wilson is a slightly better version of dye. If he did do what he did in 2003 his career numbers would actually be worse. If anyone could come up with a solid reason why wilson is 8.5 million dollars better than dye i will eat my shoe and record it (by the way stepped in dog s*** today). So it be all that much tastier. Because he is younger. Eat your shoe. NOW!!!!!!!!

Preston Wilson
QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) Dumping Dye after he supposedly took less money to play for the Sox, would not look good to future free agent's. I just don't see that happening. I hope he gets on track. Yeah, I don't see Dye getting dumped at all this season.

If Jon Garland continues to pitch like this
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) I would bet against Barry participation. He'll claim knee issues that will keep him out. He can't play every day anyways. Well Barry will be DHing.
-
If Jon Garland continues to pitch like this
I'm putting my money on DR. That team is killer.
-
If Jon Garland continues to pitch like this
Check out the Dominican Republic's team: And check out the pitching staff of Venazuela: At least we got Freddy Garcia participating as a pitcher. And oh look Maggs will too. If his knee isn't sawed off by then.

Preston Wilson
Preston would fit in RF for the White Sox. He would put up good numbers at least here. I would like Helton more, but I don't see him being here.

Putting this Trade Shingo talk to rest.
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Totally different circumstances since he does not have one. He sure does. It was a full no-trade clause, but he said that New York didn't want him anymore and knew they weren't going to give him anymore chances. He said if someone doesn't want you in their house, then you leave. He said he likes Ozzie and that since the White Sox wanted him, that's why he waived his no trade clause. Of course El duque coming over is even better for him. See, there's way less pressure on Contreras(even if making the playoffs and stuff) because the White Sox are a low-key team and if he blows something, we'll be pissed, but we'll forgive.

If Jon Garland continues to pitch like this
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Depending on who selects it, you can book Dontrelle over Buehrle . Marketing. Don't know. Dontrelle is getting as much pub as Buehrle these days. Everyone considers Buehrle a top 3 young pitcher. Most people know that Dontrelle tends to slow down in the 2nd half(even pitched out of the bullpen in their WS run).

MVP Baseball 2005
QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) I just wish they could get the Cell right, it still has BLUE WALLS!! They probably don't care. It's the last game they'll be making.

All nba defensive teams announced
Kirk will earn it in due time. I don't think he got robber. If anything, Chandler or Noc got robbed(Noc only got one vote).

Bears sign kicker Doug Brian
Edinger is gone. Bears fans should be happy. Brien has one bad game in his career and that was last year's playoff game. He's still a damn good kicker though and better than the declining Edinger.

If Jon Garland continues to pitch like this
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) I think Buehrle should go before Garland. He's more proven and is better than a couple of the pitchers that the ESPN article had. Definately true. They do need a lefty on that staff(other than Mulder).
