  1. Haha, I wish I didn't miss that episode today. I hate southside fans who turn into Cub fans. I also hate when Wilbon tries to kiss butt when someone calls him out on something.
  2. Went to the game. Not much of a walkup at all. I think all tickets sold were the ones that were sold before hand. Nonetheless, it was a great performance by Jon. I have so much confidence in the guy. If he isn't starting the All-Star Game, then it's a crock of ----!
  3. I also see Borchard being called up for the 25 man before I see Anderson. As stated before, he's not even batting .330, he's K'ing alot as well. He has lots of things to work on still. No need to kneejerk react him into playing with the White Sox this year. His time will come. Same with B-Mac. It wasn't just his last start. Yes, he's leading the league in K's, but he's also walking guys and he's giving up HR's. That means you aren't ready yet. He may be at the end of the year, but he hasn't figured out AAA yet. I say let him do that first.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) when the rosters expand, Anderson will be up. I meant as the 25. I guess I should've stated that. He definately will make the 40.
  5. No need to mess with a prospect who isn't ready yet. I don't see Brian Anderson being called up this year. We'd probably use Ozuna and Timo accordingly.
  6. He needs to be bench coach. He would actually make a damn good manager, he just didn't have players in KC. Doesn't seem like they want to keep their good players either minus Mike Sweeney. Hopefully Tony could knock some sense into Ozzie if he does come in here, like brining in your 3 worst relievers into a tie ballgame.
  7. They're going to have to get not 1 but 2 WR's.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 11, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) "[Podsednik] is the key on this team," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "If he gets on base, we can do a lot of different things." So Ozzie decides to bench him against a righty and an old catcher. And with a pure stroke of genius, he places Timo "I suck so much" Perez in the lead-off spot. And Wins!!! Seriously, I don't know why Timo is hated on so much considering he is nowhere near the worse player on the team.
  9. Why does everyone want B-Mac up so quick?? He is having problems in AAA. He's serving up to many HR's. Let's not rush B-Mac. Also Contreras has done more than what many thought he would. I don't care if allows 1000 baserunners. If they don't score, don't matter to me. Like PK said, Beyond ugly. You're not going to have everyone in your staff who's perfect and let's no one on and only gives up 1 or 2 runs consistantly. If you're looking for that, give it up. I'd just let Contreras(who has proven to be 33) ride out his contract. Chances are you'll be able to resign him for a lot cheaper. Also, El Duque will probably retire at the end of his contract, which is perfect timing for BMac. Don't mess with the prospect. We have a great pitcher in the minors who still needs to develop. There is absolutely no reason to rush him right now.
  10. My lineup: LF-Podsednik 2B-Iguchi DH-Everett(he's still been getting RBI's and sac fly's) C-Pierzynski SS-Uribe 3B-Crede 1B-Konerko RF-Dye CF-Rowand It's way more than enough to change it up. Hell put Widger at first and Harris at CF and then RF the next day. Their asses need to know that you get bench once you don't perform. Ultimate disrespect by putting the 4-5-6 hitters there. Maybe it'll finally light a fire under their asses.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Chances of that holding up is slim. I hope so but it is doubtful. It is a known fact the more runners you let on the greater of a chance they have to score. When Contreras starts giving up 5 runs each game, I'll worry then. 3 or less is fine. Hell 4 is better than his career numbers.
  12. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) I know Dye has been horrible, no one expected THAT, but I wonder what everyone was really expecting. The guy is a career .270 hitter and hasn't hit that well in like 4 years. Decline. Yeah. I'm not dissapointed in him(though that's still no excuse for doing this bad). PK gets too much credit when he really isn't that good. He's good for power, but he can't carry an offense like a Frank or Maggs or even Carlos Lee. He grounds in too many DP's and this year he's falling behind in counts way too early(stares at first two pitches down the middle, then decides he wants to bat. I'm not suprised by Rowand. Again, I didn't expect much and I don't think he's more than a .280 hitter. He clearly should be batting 7th right now. I would move AJ up. Small ball is based on OBP and AJ has done a better job of getting OB than Dye Rowand or PK.
  13. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Shingo needs to get more work in. He should've pitched in one of the games against Toronto. This is a pattern. The game against Detroit was the exact same thing. He had 5 days off. He needs to be pitching more. Remember before everyone says we should release him he has brought ERA down from 13 to 6 in 2 weeks. He has pitched well lately and he should get another shot. I agree. He doesn't get in when he should(should've gotten in on that rout on saturday). Shingo needs work at least every other day for him to warm up. Put him in the minors if need be so he could pitch everyday and get his confidence back. But don't bench him for a week, then expect him to turn it on again.
  14. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Yeah so I forgot about it, oh well. But we don't really need to be talking about the best starts anymore. I hate having a 2 game losing streak or even longer ones. Seriously, can this thread be deleted.
  15. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) Not giving runs up while issuing walks will only last so long. He hasn't had any really bg inning but if he keeps allowing walks at this rate the big innings will come sooner rather than later. Walking players doesn't automatically lose you the game but it makes the chance of losing that much greater. How many games has he lost by doing so so far?? 1. I'd take 1 out of every 6 starts any day of the week.
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) Don't be surprised if they DL him. And then who? Bajenaru I guess. the immortal kevin walker!!
  17. QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) WALKS, ya conteras walks to many 1 hit in an inning and got 3 runs cause he WALKS to many, and you should try to trade conteras while you can get something for him,and Shingo theres alot of people that would trade good players for him, cubs, giants, cardinals, just some teams, even if we do only get prospects then we can trade them to get a good hitter!!!!!! I'm sorry, but you don't lose games by how many walks that have been given up in the game. You lose games by giving up runs. It's a proven fact. Look at the mlb.com. It'll say Runs in bold and the team with the lower amount loses. Contreras while walking people has gotten out of his jams for the most pasr this year(again, other than today). You're not going to get that out of anyone else you're going to be able to trade for. McCarthy is fairing no better with his walks in AAA.
  18. LaTroy>Shingo. I rather have a guy who was proven for more than 1 year and entered CubDom than have the one summer wonder in Shingo. Shingo doesn't pitch his changeup over the plate which is stupid and leaves his fastball right there for everyone to take out of the park. With a frisbee like he has, he needs to challenge the hitters.
  19. QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ May 10, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) JR this team is in good shape NOw lets not let this get away go out and get us a BIG BAT NOW,iam tired of the so so player like J Dye ,Crazy Carl go out and get a SUPERSTAR hitter, like Abreu,Aubrey Huff or even Carl Crawford. Also i HOPE we seen the last of dingo Takatsu and iam ready for Mcarthy too, so its time KW tobring Mcarthy up and trade Dingo and conteras for a hitter What is wrong with Contreras other than tonight? Yes, he walks alot, but other than tonight he's actually pitched better than expected. He's given up 2-3 runs each game which should be a quality start. He's not the reason we're losing. He's kept us in every game which is way more than any Sox fan expected at the beginning of the season. You keep Contreras. McCarthy isn't ready. Yes, he's leading AAA in K's(I heard that somewhere) but he's giving up alot of walks.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 10, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Its kind of ironic that Konerko has a long looping swing where his hands are up around his head. And now Dye who was a great fastball hitter last year, has a nice long looping swing where his hands are high up. They kind of remind me of Crede and Borchard last year both with long looping swings. This pull baseball crap is getting old. Line drive swings are fine. Line drive swings dont slump as much. I find it ironic that Konerko changed his swing for more power in his contract year. Too bad Ross Gload is hurt or we could start benching these guys. Bring up Anderson to play RF and bench Dye. Bring up McCarthy and pull Contreras into the bullpen so he can walk people in mop up games. Release Shingo. We dont need to stick with another Koch/Jackson because he will get it. We pitched Jackson last year into August. Contreras, with the exception of tonight, has been better than we thought he would be. We thought one game he'd give up 0 and the next game give up 8. He's been pretty consistant and given up 2-3 runs every game. All we expected was .500 at best for him. If the team's offense actually came through of early innings and the bullpen actually kept his leads, he would have about 4 wins.
  21. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) 6 runs is not enough for tampa? Blame the offense on a lot. But today was not the offene's fault. The bullpen and starting pitching (in that order) are to blame. Would've given us a better chance. I still think Shingo needs to go. Our 4-5-6 hitters don't deserve the PT right now. I'm a big fan of Dye and I like Rowand, but the fact that they are sucking so bad makes me want to write KW a petition to send them all to AAA. PK has proven thus far that he cannot carry an offense. I'm not only talking this year, but in year's past. He is no better than a #5 hitter.
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 10, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) No, are 3-4-5 hitters have cost us 1/3, if not more of these games. I am getting sick of seeing Konerko, Rowand, and Dye look like s*** at the dish. "There going to get hot" is getting old, quick. I strongly agree. This is getting old. They were playing in a relatively warm dome. Where's the offense there? That excuse of just wait until the weather warms is getting really really old. They are clearly not getting better as the season progresses. It's a joke that people actually wanted Rowand to bat at the 3 spot. I'd hate to see our record if he were to bat there.
  23. QUOTE(Cy Garland @ May 10, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Shingo >>>> Latroy I think not. Shingo as a closer
  24. Trade Byung-Yung to the Flubs. We could sucker them. I honestly rather have Hawkins because Ozzie wouldn't use him in closer situations. KW would fire him on the spot if he did that. Sucker the Flubs.
