  1. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 1, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) I think JG is a 20 game winner for one reason, he is in the 5 hole, he matches up against 5th starters (for the most part). Here is a list of the fifth starters in the AL: Kevin Gregg, Joe Blanton, Dave Bush, Hideo Nomo, Scott Elarton, Ryan Franklin, Bruce Chen, Pedro Astacio, Bronson Arroyo, Zach Greinke,Wilfredo Ledezma, Joe Mays, Kevin Brown I know that I'd take Garland in any game over any of those guys. If he continues to throw strikes, get the ground ball outs, and continue to limit his walks I dont see why he can't be a 20 game winner this year Go look at Blanton and Chen's numbers. I would still take JG over them, but they're not bums this year. Also, I didn't know Garland was facing the pitcher. I didn't know the White Sox were in the NL. I'm pretty sure he faces the batting order those teams have to offer.
  2. I've always been a Garland backer. You could check back to my WSI days.
  3. I'm indifferent. Don't think he won't do anything bad for this team, also don't think he would make that much of a difference. I wouldn't mind having him, but I'm not going to lead a protest to KW's office to get him either.
  4. No love for Garland. Wow. Even ESPN named him the month's best pitcher. It's good though. If no one knows about Garland, makes it even easier for him to blow teams away. I bet even if he ends up with an ERA at 2.90, he probably still won't make the All-Star game.
  5. Me too. All you have to do is trade good players for great prospects. Sometimes they won't take the deal because the age and potential of the players they are giving up and receiving. They take everything into account.
  6. The were rating staying power after the first month of baseball. He said he likes us because by far we have the best rotation out there. Our rotation has the top ERA in the game by half a run and has the most quality starts. He stated Jon Garland is our 5th starter and he's 4-0. Nice to see someone think we have a chance. Also stated that Frank Thomas will be back eventually to help our offense.
  7. Rondell sucks. Damn him. Actually he's a pretty good player when it comes to facing us.
  8. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) ehh whatever, they wont be good next year anyhow Not anymore. They looked like if they had a half decent coach next year that they would at least make the tourney. I also thought they would get someone bigger.
  9. Wow, this makes my suggestion of Everett playing 2nd and SS not seem so bad. Told ya guys, I could manage the White Sox.
  10. Tying run balked in. Ozzie not going out there.
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) You bet. We coulda' been 17-3. Just kidding. Actually we probably could've. I won't be suprised if we lose tonight honestly. You could tell Buehrle wasn't on tonight and yet he tries to keep trotting him out there. I'm sorry, but did our bullpen work at all yesterday?? No. So you could use them tonight. Ozzie as a manager is sometimes a huge dumbass. It needs to be said.
  12. It was clear tonight that Buehrle wasn't having a good night. I could maybe understand keeping him out there for the 6th to keep his streak alive, but he should've pulled him after that inning or at the very most, allow him to get one runner on, then pull him. Nope, he waits until all tying runs are on.
  13. Why does everyone say hell no to Latroy?? Is he a bad closer?? Hell yes, but he is a damn good setup man and I think a change of scenery will do him wonders(like VC to the Nets did for him). Imagine having Hermy or Damaso close with LaTroy setting up. Latroy has dominate stuff, even for a s***ty closer, but as a setup man, hes flat out nasty. He just went into Cubdom. You suck when you get there, and are great once you leave. Only guy who this hasn't applied to is Aramis. He actually improved.

Basically, this is what I was told you do. 1)Go to stayinvisible.com and get a proxy(still in the US) and the port # that goes with it. 2)copy that in notepad 3)close all your browsers and sign out 4)go to controlpanel>network and internet connections> internet options> connections > lan settings > 5)uncheck the first two options and check the 3rd option and uncheck bypass proxy server 6)copy and paste the proxy number in the first box(ie 65.23.14.21) and put the port number where it says port: 7)click ok on everything and connect back to the internet 8)go to mlb.tv and it is supposed to work, but it never worked for me honestly.
  15. Yeah, I rather have the national media talk about us. I don't mind the negativity, but the fact that they are paid to give their opinions and do research shows they aren't doing a good job of the latter because they either don't know a player's name or have something mixed up all the time.
  16. Sucks it isn't his knee. I was telling Tigers fans they got screwed when they got him and they told me that I'm just a pissed White Sox fan. I think we both know who's the right one now.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) We don't need any OF prospects, as we are loaded with them right now. It would have to be a pitching prospect, an infield prospect, or a catching prospect. Politte for Walker and Nomar with the Cubs eating most of their salary.
  18. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Guzman is now hurt and is shut down I also don't think the Cubs would be willing to give him or Alex Pie up. Probably David Kelton if anyone. I don't know what we really need now. I think KW should wait until at least June to look at a trade.
  19. ^^I agree. Also it seems like he isn't throwing as hard as he can, but rather concentrating more on the location of his pitches which I heard is better for a sinkerball pitcher.
  20. I bet we could probably get Latroy Hawkins and another pitcher. Hell, what if it was LaTroy Hawkins(since he's so hated on the northside now) for Adkins, would you guys do it?? I think I would. I know I would.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Crede didn't look like he was too hurt running around the bases, so hopefully it's just precautionary. Actually he did. When he was rounding 3rd it didn't look like he was running hard at all. Like he was running at problably 50% his speed.
  22. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) CHRIS f***IGN WIDGER!? WHO!??!?! Chris f***ing Widger...who? Mike Jones, Mike Jones, back then h**s didn't want me, now h**s all on me... Sorry got away with that. Now let's keep the lead.
  23. Let's not get this confused. Lebron has always been a pass first player. He's playing SG when he's not a SG. He's a big PG and if he was playing PG, his shooting percentage would go up by alot. He would do nothing but help the turnovers come down and help this team drastically in the playoffs. With that said, I don't think he's coming here. I think he'll end up staying in Cleveland.
  24. Charles Johnson!!!
  25. What about Mike Sirotka???
