  1. I plan on running it next year for sure. I was training over the summer running like 12 miles a day but school and work got in the way. Nice Job.
  2. 2 straight Soxtalk Basketball Championship Appearances. I kinda have to come back
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 09:43 AM) dont get me wrong, that packer O-line is atrocious, but Allen was quite a force. Ryan Grant, 1 year wonder or gonna rebound? Still hard to tell if Grant is a one year wonder or not. Last year he was injured to start the year but the latter half of last season he had a pretty good run. So far this year the offensive line has been brutal, running and passing has been tough because of the lines issues. Theses issues inevitably won't stop for the rest of the season but if Grant can't run against the Lions or Browns then I would look to replace him. I want a new RB regardless. Problem is Grant is on the field the whole game and nobody can really come in and prove they can take carries away from him. GB is in desperate need of a change of pace back. But I knew this before the season, I like Jackson but he needs to get on the field this year.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) Doesn't help that Clifton is out either. Thank f***ing God I had night class. Heard the offensive line played worse than ever. Wasn't expecting win but at least a closer game. This game was far worse than the score suggests. Was the kickoff return at the beginning of the game the initial fumble? The last thing you want to do is turn it over first drive in the Metrodome, that is a tough place to play in coming from behind. Bye week couldn't come sooner, just get healthy and beat the Browns and Lions.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 05:59 PM) Only thing we can really do is have our team prove him wrong during the season (and hope to god our O Line stops blowing). Didnt think it would be worse than last year? I miss Tauscher.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) I think he's trying to say that Favre's career stats right now are better than any other active QB's in the NFL. This. I mean, of course it's Cutler. But right now on a talent standpoint it is Peyton Manning imo or even Adrian Peterson.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 12:57 PM) I hope you weren't serious about the bolded, but if you were - are you high? Compared to the the current players in the NFL and their career yes. Of all time, no. Peyton Manning will be better.
  8. But the world is ending in 2012 anyways..
  9. Really? Your considering trading Turner for a waiver wire pickup in Coffee and a player who will fall into a limited role in Jackson. Terrible trade bud. I don't think Jackson will give up a lot of carries to Lynch personally, I still think Jackson can be a decent fantasy option, not nearly worth Turner of course, he still offers the optinon of being utilized as a receiver out of the backfield and who knows how many goal line carries each will get.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) Here's an idea. Find a board with Green Bay fans. You might get some more people who care about the Packers on somewhere that doesn't revolve around Chicago. I do post on a Packers board, but thanks for trying
  11. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 07:51 AM) Nothing happening in the NFL?Why the biggest game in the history on the NFL is this coming Monday night according to ESPN! OK,you're right, chatter away about college football because if I hear another story about Favre vs his former team,I'm going to scream... Oh and by the way,the Vikes will hand the Packers their asses on Monday night,Green Bay just isn't that good IMO,I aint buying it. Since when was anyone talking about the Monday night game that you had to come into the thread and bring your s*** opinion in? Tired of seeing all the s*** posts like this ragging on GB, we get the point, you don't think they are that good. I don't think the Bears are that good but I don't say jack s*** about them, no. What do you expect, Favre is the best player in the game and he is playing his former team. Anything beats watching ESPN hype the stupid Cowboys and their stadium, bit sick of hearing analysts talk about how good that team is and Jerry Jones and the gang. I think the Monday night game "might" be close, do I expect GB to win, no, but I would be stoked if they do, but I wasn't expecting them to win wk 1 or even lose wk 2. The game ultimately hinges on both teams offensive lines as they are not that great. Who knows, emotions can change the game, Favre I'm sure would like to beat GB and I'm sure GB would love to stick it to Favre.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 07:35 AM) I have the Cowboys and Texans D in fantasy. After Dallas pisses me off for 2 weeks, I play Houston. Now, it comes back to f*** me. Why you would draft either lol? Texans have been shredded vs the run this year, playing their defense that was up against one of the best RBs in the league is rather foolish no offense.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 10:02 AM) mare was 3 for 5 gould was 1 for 2 OMG IF GOULD WOULD"VE JUST HIT THAT FIELD GOAL WE WOULD'VE WON BY 3!!! Gould had no business kicking that field goal. Came up way short to no surprise. I was referring to the whole season, Crosby missed one, Reed 2 and Mare 2. Mare should have retired years ago and he sucks so his misses were not a surprise but Reeds sure were. Thought Seattle had Brandon Cotuu (sp?), liked him out of college, sure as hell better than Mare.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) Bears really haven't played a good game yet, and are 2-1 after finishing maybe their toughest (on paper) 3 game stretch of the season today. Maybe this team has hope after all. And damn, I've seen it several times now and I still can't believe the f***ing play Favre and Greg Lewis combined to make to save the Vikings from a loss. Having 5 missed field goals against your team helps also.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) Yup, Steelers blew it Bengals are a better team than people think. I took them to win WC and to win today's game.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) Vote Knox Voting Sanchez. Hes doing a great job for a rookie and they don't exactly have the greatest offensive weapons. He beat the Patriots of all teams last week as well. I definitely liked him over Stafford but didn't think he would be 2-0 out of the gates.
  17. QUOTE (Sox72 @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) Hey all, I unfortunately just moved to St. Louis and am learning quickly how much better Chicago is. Does anyone happen to know any White Sox bars in the area? Not likely, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Or, even more relevant now, any Bears bars? I can't remember what the name of the restaurant was when I went down there for a baseball tourney. But there is a really good restaurant that is full of baseball memorabilia and commemorates Ozzie Smith, if only I remembered the name.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 11:34 PM) Its not that simple, I don't have blind optimism, but I don't have blind "oh my god the season is over" like everyone else seems to have. All I saw in that game was a team that was coached and played so poorly, yet still should have won easily. We lost by 6 points...Clark lost us 7 guaranteed points and Turner's piss poor excuse for an offense lost us 4 extra points in the redzone. I saw a team with 2 legit WR and a decent RB barely win with 4 f***ing INT's and a gift ball given in their own redzone. Yes, the Bears probably should have had 1-2 more TDs under their belt. You neglect to mention that the Packers should have scored more in the first half as well. Rodgers overthrew a sure thing TD, Crosby missed a FG but he has been having slight injury problems, all of a sudden that is 20 points on the board instead of 10 for Green Bay at the half. But I really don't care how many points Chicago "should" have had, my team won and a win is a win. I really don't care to listen to Bears fans saying, oh the Bears should have won, I'd be saying the same thing if GB was the one who threw the four picks and had many injuries in a close game. I watched GB lose 7 games last year in which they should have won. Neither team played great and up to their potential so you have to take this game with a grain of salt. I'm definitely not expecting GB or CHI offenses to suck every week or for GB defense to be great every week. What do you f***ing expect? A lot of fans are not educated enough to know that after their star player goes down their season is not over. Eagles just had McNabb go down, is their season over? Probably not, but until they get him back they probably are not winning anymore games. Brady went down last year, was their season over, probably not but when you have a QB walk in with no experience it is hard to expect a playoff birth, but the talent around Cassel was there. Immediately after I heard Urlacher was injured I saw about 20 facebook negative facebook statuses. No matter how you look at it losing a star player is a pretty big hit, especially when your team has not played well without Urlacher. I'm not saying their season is over but Bears fans came into this season with huge expectations and watching last game's performance surely died those expectations down some. Your typical fan watches that Bears vs. Packers game and it should be understandable as to why some of their optimism lowers when Urlacher gets lost for the season, their franchise QB throws 4 INTs, Clark gets injured, Pisa T gets injured, Forte runs like Cedric. Then you add those names to a list of Tommie Harris, Tillman, Anderson Afalava, Omiyale who are all banged up. Not the start most fans were expecting.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 10:30 PM) I cannot envision any scenario in which they win both games, and I think it would be a surprise if they win either of them. Beating the Seahawks would be the more likely scenario of the two games. I still don't see Seattle as being a great team, I think they can make the playoffs but they need to have a convincing win this week over the 49ers for me to say the Bears won't beat them, even that really would not matter. Plus like someone noted the Seahawks are banged up injury wise, not that the Bears aren't. Steelers will certainly be a tough matchup for Chicago and the Bears will need to prove they can win a game without the help of Urlacher. Should be a good game, of course I'm rooting for the Steelers but this one should come down to the final minutes.
  20. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 09:57 AM) I'm not worried about the Offense. They looked a little out of sync, but it's the first week. They just missed some big plays. The D-line looked awesome. Cullen Jenkins is a beast. I can't wait till BJ gets in the rotation too. Right, I'm not overly worried about the offense either. Didn't turn over the ball once and did not try to force anything and allowed for the defense to come on the field and make a stop. My only concern is Barbre of course and hopefully next game the O drops less passes. The offense should be fine. The defensive line did look good, I was quite pleased, I really didn't think we would generate much of a rush but we hurried up Cutler a number of times. Special teams looked pretty good on coverage as well, minus the missed field goal by Mason.
  21. Even though Green Bay didn't play their best game last night I'll take the win. The 3-4 defense certainly looked solid for their first real game, safeties were getting beat but Green Bay has little depth there. Loved the aggressiveness. Can't wait till BJ is on the field, the defensive line looked tired in the second half to me. Will Blackmon coming back will help as well, gives GB another corner and a better return man on special teams, Nelson didn't do too bad though. Offense definitely looked like s***, whole right side of the line could not hold down Ogunleye or anybody in general. I would have liked to see Green Bay used the 5 receiver formation more and get Finley more involved, they threw to him early but then he just disappeared. James Jones was nowhere to be found either. Run game was so so, I still don't like Wynn and wish Jackson was used a little more, he looked decent towards the end of last season and I like him receiving the ball instead of Wynn. Bengals should be a nice matchup for the offense next week and the Rams the following week. Both teams really didn't play their best football tonight, should be a better matchup come December. 1-0!
  22. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 11:17 AM) Semelparity is a "spawn and die" strategy common to several salmonid fishes as well and certain eels in the family Anguilidae. Sox out west makes late nights for me staying awake for the games. The good thing is football is here so we can stop suffering from watching the Sox.
  23. Crab is tasty as well with no poisons, just an easier to cook alternative
