QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) 503 yards passing from Ben today. Got lucky as hell. I hate the Steelers, can't wait till Baltimore beats them next week, tired of seeing them in the playoffs. Granted Green Bay's defense played awful, Jarret Bush has to be the worst corner in the NFL. Another Crosby missed FG proved costly. Green Bay better beat the Seahawks next week, that should clinch it. I'll be at Lambeau next week for it.
-
Please replace Mason Crosby. Make that 8 missed field goals.
-
Nice to see the Titans or Texans somehow squeak into the playoff picture.

f*** the weather. First my NFL TV package is not working for some reason. Then the Bears game gets moved ahead because of weather. And I'm now stuck watching that crap team lose to the Ravens when I should be watching GB.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 10:53 AM) If the Sox spend that much on a DH I'd be very surprised. Thome or Cust maybe for 2.5-3 mill is about all I expect. If they go crazy maybe Laroche. He fits in well with the doubles/HR hitter we're after. 2.5-3 million seems a bit much for Thome and Cust imo. I have always like LaRoche, wouldn't mind that signing, hits lefty and gets on base. Of course I would love Vlad but he seems destined for the Rangers.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) Here is your factoid of the day to totally depress you... Since George Halas retired, the Bears have never hired a coach with any NFL head coaching experience. Lol, Charlie Weiss ftw?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 09:29 AM) I swear every year there is a rumor linking Harrington to the Bulls, dating back to his first round with the Pacers If KW was the GM we'd have had him by now. -

QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) Very happy to see the Boilermakers led by E'twaun Moore droping another 22 points take play a solid second half to pull away from Wake. I like the talent on Wake, but Guadio (spelling) seem to be lost in meshing that talent. Love Ish Smith 's quickness with the athhleticism to run the court if he can get them all on the same page. Anyway Purdue looks like a seasoned team, that should be tough to deal with in the Big 11, even with the loss of Lew Jack. I'm really looking forward to Purdue's showdown with West Virginia in about 4-5 weeks. They should go unbeaten until then. Matchup with WV will be interesting. -

Like I said above, UNC should blowout Mich. St. It might look close towards the end but the game won't be close during the game. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 07:32 PM) Apparently NW is semi decent. Northwestern is not bad this year, they should be a bubble team when all is said and done. Purdue is in control, this game is over, well should be. -

Purdue is shooting awful, at least they are still in this game. Pull this one out. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 11:59 PM) 3 out of 4 of my teams have been "done" since week 8. Maybe I can make it a perfect 4/4
-
7/9 teams I have clinched a playoff spot My main league not included. Interestingly actually, last week of the playoffs in that league and only 4/8 teams have clinched, I have the most points but am tied for the 7 and 8 seed. Other league I'm last in division, my team is so inconsistent, two wins and I can make it, doesn't look good though.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) Is it possible for your muscles to be too strong for your ligaments, joints and tendons?? I injure my shoulders if exceed a certain amount of weight on my bench or military presses. The problem is that the weight I'm working with, doesn't cause a problem, but it's no longer challenging my muscles, so I move up in weight, even slightly and bam, I get injured. Similar problem with me, I get to a certain point with my weights where if I go too far I get injured. But I think I may have been overdoing the lifting. Then again for me, it is one injury after another, first my shoulder, then foot, then knee, then shoulder. Nothing major requiring an x-ray, just plain stupidity I feel. I used to be using weights but now I just stick to mostly non-weight exercises and I have seen a more noticeable difference and I get a better workout out of it. I actually feel sore at the end of my workout, never really did with free weights. Weights I always felt put too much strain on my muscles and this is a more direct way for me to workout and control my own progress I feel. I'll get back on weights eventually though. Pullups Chinups Pushups Leg Extensions Leg Curls Calf Raise Inverted Row Dips Plank Lunges Ab Exercises (situps, crunches, etc) I do pushups M, W, F, and everything else M-Sun. Now, you can workout everyday as long as your not really sore the next day right? I'm thinking I should take at least one day on the weekend off just in case. I don't feel like I'm overdoing it, trying to play catch up at the moment. Just curious if you can get away with working out everyday. I figure the stronger I get, another rest day will be needed. I weight about 150 and avg body type, by that I mean I look fit but in reality I'm not that strong.

You can chalk up one win for the Big Ten -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) I feel like he's going to be 10 times better in the NFL than he was in college. He simply had nobody to throw him the ball this season and his OC went from pass first to run first. I think he'll slide a bit because of his numbers, but its hard to ignore his size and speed. Right, that is one reason why I don't really like him. Because he didn't have a QB to throw him the ball it seems hard to judge what type of talent your going to get. We know the size and speed are there but it is hard to project him.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 10:53 AM) Thome's numbers last year were clearly better than Cust's. Yes, I know. Just my personal preference, I'm rather sick of Big Jim.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) Who does everyone have? Monday, Nov. 30 Penn State at Virginia - Taylor Battle finds his stroke. Tuesday, Dec. 1 Maryland at Indiana - Indiana is god awful. Michigan State at North Carolina - I don't think this one will be close, UNC is still better even without Lawson and Ty. Northwestern at N.C. State Virginia Tech at Iowa - Blowout. Wake Forest at Purdue Wednesday, Dec. 2 Boston College at Michigan Duke at Wisconsin - This is an unfair matchup, Duke should've been matched with Purdue. Florida State at Ohio State - I'm looking forward to this one, should be close. Illinois at Clemson - Hard to pick the Illini after bad performances vs. Bradley and Utah. This one could go either way though I feel. Minnesota at Miami ACC 6 Big Ten 5, should be a close challenge. Really wish Purdue played Duke though. -
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 10:25 AM) it's slow here---- any thoughts on acquiring him? Would come cheap for the amount of production he'd give, and you can hide what (if i remember correctly) is an emabarassingly bad glove If we signed him, chances are we throw him at DH. Not my first option but I would much prefer him at DH than Kotsay and Thome. A move to the cell would be a good thing for him, not a fan of his strikeout numbers though.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) If the Bucs can get Suh, Benn, and a FS like a Nate Allen from USF, they'll be in business. In the mean time, the Bears have no picks to get younger/better and they don't spend money on other teams' FA's to get younger/better. We're about to turn into the Bucs. Arrelius Benn is going to be taken too high in this draft imo. He is not a first round talent to me, maybe a second round talent. Maybe I'm saying this because he had a below average QB in college but I was never impressed. Bucs should get some good talent though, Freeman continues to impress me and they are not too far off compared to the other 1-10 and 2-9 teams from competing next year. Oh, and not that I expect this to last with Harris and Kamp out, but GB will have the #1 ranked DEF after tonight. I'd love for them to give Justin Miller a shot at CB/KR though, still are hurt at DB depth wise. Not to jump the boat but the most immediate needs for next season are OL and DB, another DL and LB would be nice as well. I wouldn't be opposed to a Jonathan Dwyer or Spiller also. Bit of pipedream as both of their stocks should rise come the combine.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Seriously? This is what the NFL has to offer? We get tortured having to watch the Lions play every f***ing year, and now the Raiders are down 17 at half vs Dallas. Last year, we got to all watch Seattle get blown out in Dallas, too. NFL likes to give the Cowboys easy games on Thanksgiving to make them look good. I'm sick and tired of watching the f***ing Cowboys every weekend, same goes for the Patriots. They like to set up matches to make the Cowboys win and the Lions lose. But I'm thankful for a Packers win.

No need for Coco Crisp now I would think. You would figure De Aza could be the speedy guy off the bench possibly.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 05:16 PM) Stafford is out. Sweet deal. Megatron (Calvin) I'm hearing will be out as well. He hasn't been participating in practice, hand and knee injury. If he doesn't play that is huge for Green Bay. Good thing Stafford is out, I had a feeling the game would come down to the wire with Stafford in. Hoping for the teams to bust out the retro unis on Thanksgiving, always was a fan of that.

I know I left a lot off but I feel I chose some of the more celebrated ones, sorry if I excluded your local customs, can definitely select other. Made it "check all that apply" Just curious what everyone thinks. Myself, Thanksgiving. Discuss...
