  1. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 07:55 AM) I'm in. now, how do we claim our keepers? He has to enter them using the commissioner settings. I will most likely post mine in the league. Also, we should probably enforce some sort of rule so that you can only keep players for so many years. 3 is a good number.
  2. Where the f*** was the foul on that dunk? The Gopher player was just touched, ridiculous.
  3. I'm down. I've been in fantasy leagues with many of you and am always active. And if I do say so myself I usually perform well vs. the Soxtalk folk Although the basketball league
  4. Hmm... Forget pitching, you take the best four available regardless in keepers, especially in this case where you don't lose picks or anything for that matter. Hanley Ramirez Ian Kinsler Justin Upton Ryan Zimmerman 3B is not as deep and I guarantee ARod, Longoria and Wright are kept, there are not many options outside of those 3 this year. Zimmerman put up just as good as stats if not better than all three and I don't see why he can't mirror last years stats. Now you can take a pitcher or two because first base is deep as well as outfield.
  5. About time Yahoo added auction drafts and a FAAB budget. Adds a lot more strategy and competition that is definitely needed for public leagues.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) Gar was pure class in the conference, saying only good things about TT and Salmons. Just finished reading the thread... Like the Salmons and Tyrus trades. I like Warrick and Alexander as bench players, and Murray and Law expire. Also, possibly getting a first rounder is sweet. The Bucks probably won't be better than the Bulls, so pick-swapping is probably not gonna happen. Miami has to be sweating, since the Bulls can now afford a max FA and the Heat didn't get Amar'e. I think Wade will stay in Miami, because I think they'll jump on Amar'e quick in the offseason, since it seems there is mutual interest. I don't think LeBron goes to the Knicks skeleton roster, so neither does Bosh, who goes to the Bulls. This is what I want the Bulls roster to look like next year. Draft Greivis Vasquez if they have a 18-30 draft pick. Resign Devin Brown for cheap. Resign Richard for league minimum. Resign Miller if you have cap space for it. Resign Alexander with whatever is left. PG - Rose/Vasquez SG - Hinrich/Brown SF - Deng/Johnson/Alexander PF - Bosh/Gibson/Richard C - Noah/Miller/Asik The Bulls do not have a 2010 second round pick. We do have a first round pick and there are a number of different options at that point in the draft, I'm hoping for Xavier Henry. Mainly I feel we should draft a guard, I wouldn't mind a player like Greg Monroe if he lands to us. We won't resign all of those players and Richard is on a 10 day contract and he seems to be staying around till Noah comes back.
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) Looks like a deal revolving around D.J. Augustine (Bobcats) and T.J. Ford (Pacers) will be done soon. Not bad for Pacers, Augustine has looked good when he gets chances to play.
  8. Knew there was a catch to the Bobcats trade and Bucks. Not as eye appealing as I thought.
  9. Hinrich is not moving. His contract is too awful for any NBA team to take one. Looking on the brightside we still have a playoff team in the East and adding 1 or 2 free agents in offseason is reasonable with the core we have compared to the Knicks.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) Funny, I feel the same with Joe Alexander. I actually like Warrick though. We mind as well play Alexander, Law and Warrick to see if any of them stick. I wouldn't mind bringing some of them back on "minimal" contracts after going after the major free agents.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 12:26 PM) What a f***ing awful trade for the Rockets. The are seriously gonna take on all that money just for Martin? Terrible. Kings did excellent as did the Knicks. I loved the Rockets move. Martin is a great fit. On top of that they get Jordan Hill who has potential but was just never given a chance. In addition, they get to swap first rd picks with knicks in 2011 and get the Knicks 2012 pick. There is more to the Bulls and Bucks deal.... Bucks have the right to swap first round pick with the Bulls, top 10 protected.
  12. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) This looks to give the Knicks room to offer 2 Max FAs I have no idea who will want to play for the Knicks. That team has nothing. I don't see David Lee coming back to the team, all that is left is Chandler and Galinari. Only superstar that can put that team in contention is LeBron.
  13. Another solid deal. Charlotte doesn't have a 2010 draft pick I believe so that should come into play for 2011. Gonna be fun to watch Warrick, Law and Alexander even if we don't bring them back.
  14. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 01:52 AM) Interesting couple of hours here I see. Martin's been nothing but a good citizen in Sacramento, but the simple fact is, Martin and Evans could simply just not play together. Sacramento need a distributing type of PG alongside Evans, and with the cap room they've created, they can now go after one. Martin's a pretty decent pickup for Houston though. Will fit their culture well, and they can move Battier back to the bench where he belongs. I'm surprised they gave up Landry though, he could be the 6th man of the year. All in all, depending on what they do with the capspace, I like the deal better for Sacramento. Geoff Petrie is building something there. If they ended up with Wall somehow, that team would make an OKC like jump next season for sure. Kings have a really nice core of young players. Tyreke Evans Omar Cassipi Jason Thompson Carl Landry Spencer Hawes Even Garcia is a nice player on their team. If they get Wall or Turner that will be one exciting team to watch. I'd like to see them sign a guy like Mehmet Okur this offseason, he would fit in well and offer a needed perimeter and post player. Would be a nice add for the Bulls too potentially. Glad to hear we got Joe Alexander and Hakim Warrick. Warrick is at least a player we can use and I'd like to see Alexander get some PT. I don't expect either to come back at the end of the season but would be open to it at minimal contracts. I always loved Warrick when he was on Syracuse.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) Sounds like DePaul wants him really bad. Crossing my fingers. I want DePaul to bring in Corbin. Won't be happy if they bring in Lowery.
  16. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) My keepers: Hanley Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez, Adam Wainwright, C.C. Sabathia, ________ Up for the 5th Spot (guys that are tradable): Jon Lester, Josh Beckett, Joakim Soria, Curtis Granderson, Joey Votto Will trade multiple players for 1. I'm interested in Votto. I'm fairly open to trading anyone.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) If Tyrus Thomas is on this team on Friday, I'll organize the riot. I will f***ing lose it if the Bulls don't make a trade by the deadline. If we are getting any sort of picks and expiring contracts for Thomas by god hit the accept button Pax and Gar. LeBron won't go anywhere people, I don't see him going away from his hometown to play somewhere else so stop the speculation. On top of that following up MJs legacy is not something LJ will want to do imo.
  18. Currently in Soxtalk Keeper League #2 Open to joining another league, I am very competitive. I'm interested in an auction keeper league if possible. Preferences: System: Yahoo Teams: 12 Draft: Live Snake or Auction Type: H2H Stats: Normal Rosters: Normal If an auction league, I prefer a FAAB budget but wouldn't necessarily matter.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) Not terribly surprising. He'll re-win it next year. Jennings might do very well cause of his speed, I bet he wins it tonight.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) God damn you got a squad! Some solid players on on that list he gave like Tommy Hanson. His team was sick last year to say the least. Pretty sure he was autopicked too, I know I was but I liked my draft. Feel free to start the league whenever hizzle, best way is to just renew it and email. My keepers are final: Evan Longoria Andrew McCutcheon Markakis Halladay Gallardo
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 01:20 AM) This is fantastic news. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-t...o&type=lgns I take everything yahoo says with a grain of salt. I never feel they have credible sources when they post those rumor articles. Hopefully we can get Wade and another all star player. First priority is to trade Thomas.

This seems like the appropriate thread to post this, and I don't feel like starting my own. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010_swim...cket/?eref=sihp My Final Four: Refaeli 07 Nemcova 06 Diaz-Rahi 02 Patrick 09 Final 2: Refaeli 07 Diaz-Rahi 02 Winner: Refaeli 07
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) If you want more mass, you definitely need to do more weight and less reps. But if you are a victim of chronic strains and the like, you may wish to consult a physician or trainer before doing anything too difficult. I'm going to head out on the road bike today for about an 8 mile ride. We'll see how the quitting smoking and recent working out have helped my endurance. Pray that I don't die. It's a concrete jungle out there in Vegas... I just overdo it on my lifts I feel, nothing chronic. I have consulted a trainer and it is nothing serious at all, guess I am a bit of a hypochondriac. Working out and running is always hard after taking time off. I ran cross country four years in high school, took about a half a year off during college from running and was exhausted when I first started running again. Good Luck. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) I've heard that to gain muscle size the best way is to do your 1st set at 10 reps, add 5 lbs do the 2nd at 8 reps, and add 5 lbs again and do the 3rd at 6 reps. Make the last set to failure. This way you're telling your muscles that they need to grow. I've been doing this for about 3 weeks now and I've already seen a difference in size and strength. I think I'll be sticking with this workout technique. Sounds like an interesting idea, I will definitely give it a try. I always go to failure, I don't understand why some don't.
  24. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Yahoo has opened the fantasy baseball leagues recently. League 2 is still a keeper league, right? I totally forgot I took 3rd, pretty sure I gave up after losing out on 1st and 2nd. Keeper is fine, did we decide on how many? I thought it was 5, 2 hitters, 2 pitchers and one wild. Here are my preliminary keepers: Evan Longoria Nick Markakis * Andrew McCutcheon * Roy Halladay Yovanni Gallardo * Might Change
  25. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) Well, now that Yoda's out there, I'll say I'm 5' 9" and typically go 137. My weight has fluctuated between 130-140 most of the last year. I'm in the same boat for the most part. I can eat as much as I want and not gain a pound, great metabolism I suppose. 5'10" at 150 Now, I have been trying to put on mass for a while now, I've been working out every other day since the summer and I am fit but you wouldn't know if I was or not if my shirt is on. I literally have to eat like 6 meals a day to gain any weight and since I'm stuck in an office all day I really don't want to do so because I know it will catch up to me from sitting down all day. I mostly have been sticking to 2-3 sets of 10 and every 3-4 weeks I will switch to a different exercise for a muscle group as a change of pace. Do you guys think switching to less reps and more weights might help some? Looking for more mass. I'm thinking of inputting a heavier workout into my routine in between my normal ten set days. I'm thinking I would go one day 10 set, next 6, then 10 and etc... Also, I have had numerous shoulder issues, nothing too serious just frequent strains, they seem to be fine but Im skeptical about switching to heavier weights. My usual shoulder exercises are seated military press and upright row, do you guys have any other exercises that might be less stressful and more effective?
